Widely misunderstood this blues derived sound or Jerryscapes capture my entire consciousness for the duration and i sure do cherish the memories of being in the theaters and arenas and stadiums with this musical GIANT. I Pity the fools who cannot decipher the key and feel his soulshine.

One of the great Sugarees and a top flight show from a splendid period of Jerry Band (May - August 84). Fantastic to hear it in SBD (and more nearly complete) after years -- decades -- of John Corley's state of the art AUD. Big BIG thanks JB and JJ, Charlie Kaiser & Jim Blackwood, Jason Chastain & Steve Gravel.
This is a cassette of the PA mix off Harry Popick's soundboard. Keystone Palo Alto was small (cap. 420). Jerry's and John's monitors were enough for the room. The PA carries the vocals, Melvin, and the drums. The guitar and bass on this recording are bleed through the drum mics -- which is why Jerry is so far back in the mix. A matrix mix of this & Corley's AUD might even things up? Or make a muddle? I'd love to hear what Charlie Miller can do. The performance certainly merits it. Sugaree is just the beginning. The Harder They Come is another definitive version, and Jerry's vocals in Mississippi Moon .... No clunkers in these two tight sets. And Jerry is primed. Sparks coming off his fingers.
