Some information on Tim's wikipedia page reads as follows, and it absolutely makes me smile "Rowett claimed that his home was burgled sometime around the 1980s, but the toy collection was untouched, leaving him feeling "obviously relieved" but "offended they hadn’t valued the toys enough to pinch them"."

@@sirknight4981 well, if I'm solving a Rubik's cube it's a trophy, but at this point it becomes worthless. If I mess it up again I turn the trophy into a puzzle that I can solve. And if I solve it in under a minute in front of my friends eyes who struggled with it for hours, that's a way better trophy
@@TheThursty100 Depends, with a Rubik Cube there's a reward for being able to solve them over and over. On the other hand though, there are puzzles which aren't like that, for example a Lego set or a ship in the bottle. In these examples the solved puzzle's aesthetic value is the reward and it represents hard work and accomplishment to a degree that a solved Rubik Cube doesn't.
The wooden helix at 3:22 was made on a scroll saw using a spiral blade (no, that's not a joke). A spiral blade is used because it cuts in all directions; a standard "straight" blade would bind when cutting these. The wooden dowel is advanced across the blade while being rotated. It's hard to explain in words, but the take-away is that's it's cut with a scroll saw.
My dads going through stage four of colon cancer and only had abt 6 months left to live. Your one of the only things keeping me going. I love this channel keep up the good work.
Tim needs to make a Paypal or Patreon account so we can donate money for him to buy endless amounts of toys. Its a win/win really, we get more of these awesome toy videos and Tim gets to build his collection even more.
The last toy is actually based on a classic russian wooden toy called "Идет бычок" or "Бычок" - Bychok. I've had one of these made from plastic in my childhood back in 80's. My toy was disigned to look like the Eeyore the donkey and this one looks like Winnie-the-Pooh from Soviet Winnie-the-Pooh cartoon series. What a funny coincidence eh?
right after tim pulled that ball apart that takes days to put together would have been the perfect time for the camera guy to say "I forgot to hit record, we need to start again"
tim: I've brought a piece of wood with me to help demonstrate this table based gadget! Camera crew: tim we film these videos on a table. You could just ... use the table. tim: ... shush
I would guess the mummies have extra weight inside, each in a different place and the bottom of the sarcophagus is uneven. So based on the side that's elevated you can tell the color (both sides are in the air in one of the three cases).
there's a pylones shop in york near where I live! I always make sure to check out the shop when I'm in the city because they always have different fun things
That little bear toy was actually a russian take on Winnie the Pooh. The cartoon shorts about this version had only 3 episodes, but that was enough for them to become legendary in Russia. He didn't get popularity outside, because he was simply outshined by the Disney version of the character.
The walking bear is nostalgic for me - one of my earliest toys (from early sixties) was a small walking circus elephant that moved the same way, only four legs instead of two.
I guess it’s actually called a “Ramp Walker” toy. I have no idea how far back the design goes but I saw examples of cast iron elephant Ramp walkers from the late nineteenth century.
It just goes to show that you don't need computers to have hours of fun. I particularly liked the ball puzzle; I'm sure when my niece was a toddler, she had something similar in her toybox, but it was brightly coloured plastic and wasn't that difficult to reconstruct, almost as easy as solving a Rubik Cube.
You can see it in the video, the yellow mummy makes the sarcophagus balance, the blue and red probably make it tip to one side or the other because they have their weights distributed differently.
What's that one with the chain in the box called? Sound like you say " chain staw"? But I don't get anything on google. Any chance of a purchase link? If available online. Or a bit more info if not?
The card was just one solid piece of paper that somehow had an impossible cutout on it. That's why. There's no way to seemingly cut paper to achieve what it was doing.

No side effects

Relaxing
And addictive as hell.

It pains me how many puzzles he purposely messes up for us
Having a puzzle just sitting there solved is hardly a puzzle, is it? Tim's a fun guy, and literally all the fun of a puzzle is solving it
Tim does it for us because he loves us and he loves puzzles. So why not solve them together
@@TheThursty100
You're half right, a solved puzzle isn't a puzzle, it's a trophy and it kind of hurts to take down trophies.

This channel never fails to make my day feel steady and nice.
Thank you so much tim. Thanks to your video i now know who was in 🗼Paris 🗼
That bear automata is actually the Russian version of Vinnie the Pooh (Vinni Puh) in Russian
I've watched those here on UA-cam. I like Tryam best of all those old Russian cartoons. Cute, shy little hedgehog.
Im russan-polish and know nothing about that
Hey, man, you should watch that cartoon. It's really fun.
*Damian Rucinski*
It's VERY old, so it's unlikely something that's aired on TV anymore, but I don't know. Thankfully we got YT!
"Tryam" is about another bear btw (called just "The Bear Cub" or "The Little Bear"), he's not Vinnie the Pooh and has no connection to him whatsoever,
I'd like to go on record and say that I would gladly pay money for a video of Tim quietly sitting and putting all these puzzles nicely back together
Tim is such a treasure. I love watching him share his favorite things :)
I always watch these videos before I go to bed, they are so soothing
This video its obviously fake. its ending with "wow" and not with "heh" how its supposed to end
Der Weckservice wait your right he's an imposter.
Alex Hetherington Impasta
Pie hates bad guys y tho
I dunno, hes probably just done it the other way round.Said 'heh' first then 'wow!'
I don't know, the way he rambled on about his flower vase thing seemed very characteristic of him
He attended a Proper Puzzle Party at Paris' Pompidou centre.
"Very fascinating."
"It's a banana..." Oh Tim, you're not even trying to hide it anymore.
Never left this channel without a happy smile. You're a wonderful man Tim
My dads going through stage four of colon cancer and only had abt 6 months left to live. Your one of the only things keeping me going. I love this channel keep up the good work.
People: Lover/ Girlfriend
Tim: Ladyfriend
Tim has class. People generally don't.
That's correct a lady-friend might be a friend who is a lady but not your lover, and also it could be your lover. Dual meanings are funny! :D

That banana snowglobe is slightly disturbing.
