The entire mix didn't quite sell their sound in the best way. It was fine, just not totally attuned to the style of music. Toms were almost nowhere in the mix though.

@nonebeach they been on roadrunner for years. Sell outs? That term is so whack. Stop gatekeeping hardcore. I get stoked when a band can breakthrough, hardcore has its limitations and they’re still putting out good music that people overwhelmingly enjoy. Also, they’re not a straight edge band.

0:09 That shot of the dummer choking his high-hat reminds me of why I love watching rock bands like this play on TV. Pop music made with synthesized or virtual instruments is great too, but there's just something special about musicians playing "real" instruments that allow them to do little tricks like that, the kind that make you go "Oh, THAT'S how you make it do that!" It gives me fond memories of when I was a pre-teen learning how to play drums by copying what I'd see in rock videos. Stuff like that isn't the only reason I'll always prefer "band" music over music made with synthesizers, but it's something I absolutely feel when it's not there.
