    i didn’t know the difference between squalane and squalene!! i love how you really go in-depth with ingredients. i try to familiarise myself with ingredients as much as possible (i have very sensitive/reactive skin) and i always learn something new from your channel 😊 did you learn most of this from personal research or as a sephora employee?

    • @sarahpalmyra
      @sarahpalmyra  4 роки тому +1

      Awe thank you I'm so glad my videos are helpful!💞 I also have super sensitive skin so I feel you! Most of it I knew beforehand just because I'm a bit of a nerd that way and enjoy learning new things but they also covered a lot in my training when I was at Sephora and I learned a ton on the job and chatting to other brand experts 😊

      Sarah Palmyra ooh okay! thank you for your response!! i think doing further research on cosmetic ingredients is sooo important because of course the label on your product is just gonna say whatever’s in it is good (bc the company is just trying to sell their product lol) BUT it can be misleading... for example the new huda moisturizer containing lavender essential oils and stating that the oils will ‘soothe the skin’ when in reality they might irritate it! 😬

    I’m so happy I came across your Tik Tok, this video was so helpful!!!! I recently bought the ordinary chemical exfoliant that you reviewed in this video. I’m a super beginner to skin care and I keep it really simple, cera ve products only, just a cleanser, moisturizer and SPF. I’ve had acne for almost 10 years and it’s finally starting to heal! Anyways it really helped to hear and in depth review about how to use the peel and the dangers. I’ve used it twice already and liked the results, but I will definitely continue to be cautious with it.

      Aw thank you! Good on you! It's so important to be cautious at first and everyone is different so some skin types are more resilient than others. Sounds like you have a great routine going 💕

    I recently purchased the lactic acid and Niacinamide formulas but I don’t know which is best for my skin and when I should use them during my skincare routine. Can you help?

    • @sarahpalmyra
      @sarahpalmyra  4 роки тому +1

      I find their Niacinamide to be very strong on its own so I would suggest mixing it in with a moisturizer. Definitely do not use them at the same time because it can cause the niacinamide to irritate and the lactic acid to work less effectively. I'd put the niacinamide in the morning and the lactic acid at night. What skin issues are you dealing with?

    • @vanessam581

      Sarah Palmyra I have acne prone skin and clogged pores. I also used to have really oily skin but now because of a new medication I’m on my skin has become really dry and flaky. Moisturizer has helped. Also Thank you so much for replying!

    • @sarahpalmyra
      @sarahpalmyra  4 роки тому +1

      Vanessa Mercado Vanessa Mercado you’re welcome! That’s tough..I’d probably keep the lactic acid to once a week at night until your skin is in a better place. You can add a couple of drops of the niacinamide to your moisturizer and it can help with redness and irritation. I would definitely look into adding a hyaluronic acid serum when your skin is damp before your moisturizer-the ordinary has one or even cerave. When your skin is doing better if you’re not on any acne treatments you can look into retinol as an option for acne.

    Can you mix oils? Like I usually do rosehip seed, Squalane, and vitamin E together.

    literally best video about skin care i've ever seen! you made everything so easy to understand 👏🏾any suggestions of acids for beginners?

    • @sarahpalmyra
      @sarahpalmyra  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much!! That makes me so happy to hear. Yes! Mandelic acid and polyhydroxyacids are amazing if you're just starting out. A low concentration of a lactic acid is good too. The ordinary has a mandelic acid and a lactic and the inkey list has a great polyhydroxy acid toner.

    Wondered what you thought about their moisturiser for dry skin?

    • @sarahpalmyra
      @sarahpalmyra  4 роки тому +1

      I liked it! I didn't think it was super moisturizing for dry skin but it's definitely a nice moisturizer. If your skin is parched I highly recommend the Youth to The People adaptogen cream or the Milk Makeup moisturizer.
