Seriously. Id say the MGK collab had way more of an affect on their monthly listeners than the Ed Sheeran one did. Actually, Ed Sheeran didn’t help much in that regard, because Ed is the #1 biggest artist on Spotify, so when their collab dropped, it was on Ed’s page for like 5 minutes, before getting dwarfed by his other songs again.
I think it wasn't about monthly listeners or being mainstream, just sole fact of a metal band playing on one stage with Ed Sheeran is so important for acknowledging metal community and popularising heavier music as a whole
you don't know what mainstream means i see. Bmth were never mainstream, they were just very popular in metal/rock scene. Big fish in a small pound kinda of thing. Please don't embarrass yourself acting all superior and know-it-all saying "smh".You'll just end up looking like cringy kid( if that's not what you are)
They were mainstream way before Ed Sheeran, don’t give him the credit for that. They’ve been around for nearly 20 years and have had a huge following since the start
That's really a long run for a band that also evolve in a good way, I think it's funny that olie mentioned that the new demographic folks never went back down on spotify tracks😂
being me the horizon is the most complete band of their style in this era, they can do it all and it amazes me, i instantly hooked on this group when i heard sempiternal album, and then they keep surprisingme with collabs and music genres you woudn't expect from this kind of band, alot of people lost interest over the years when they became softer but they can still surprise everybody.
BMTH was the first metalcore band that I heard back when I was like 14 y.o. and now I'm almost 26. And let me tell you Oli doesn't age at all! He has more tats etc but he looks like he did more then 10 years back Just more muscle packed and less tired
I remember seeing them in 2011, had pierce the veil as support headliners. They've matured so well as a band and oli has over come so much in that time with his addictions. Without sounding cliche, definitely a big role model. Connecting us with words and the atmosphere in their production of music. It just makes you feel less alone. Something a lot of bands struggle to get across. They haven't outgrown their core belief and thats super admirable. Dope band, dope members 🤘🏻👌🏻
Also let's not forget that famous people have enough money to get botoxed, which he might have, so saying they age well has always to be taken with a grain of salt
I've been to see both. A fan of both. More so BMTH. But that original bad habits song was terrible. It defo improved it 100%. And a BMTH concert is way more fun than Ed. Sorry Ed. Love some of your music. But it was just flat in comparison. The audience were dead and there were 4 times as many people. Disappointed. But he's good live. Can't deny that.
I would constantly break ankles with a variety of crossover moves on the basketball court listening to 2010’s BMTH. Lads really get you goin' on/off the court.
'caught the eye of some of the biggest artists in the world' *cuts to MGK* I'm confused....... MGK is surely riding on the back of bmth's fame after being lucky enough to collab with them 😂😂

So 2 things, 1: them asking if Ed sheerens face melted not realizing he's a big metal head gives me secondhand embarrassment. 2: I love that they're corrected that it's the first FESTIVAL they're headlining in Australia, not the first tour they're headlining. This whole interview is just...dear lord
Bring me the horizon we're mainstream way before the Ed Sheeran feature smh

@@CoverBrazilian I can almost guarantee anyone listening to MGKs rock stuff already knew who BMTH are. Unless they were really young.
@ mattyfox, I caught that too. They made it sound that Ed Sheeran made BMTH famous...WHATEVER

Yeah, right? I was just wondering if anyone else caught it too

RIGHT? they sold out wembley arena 8 years prior to that collab. i mean, if you're gonna make statements do your research first @the project

Jordan was the best addition to the band, he brought so much new varity to them
I love the project just backhandedly undercuting their legitimacy at every turn, then just ending the interview
Over summer Oli trained with us at swimming for what I believe was a charity swim he had coming up, nice guy...

Well let's be honest, he hasn't aged because he got clean, started eating really good based off his dietary decisions, and working out. Good for him!

Forreal. I love pop but I can't stand Ed sheeran for the life of me and their version just made it good.

omg they're so awkward I love them 😩 TOTAL opposite to their stage presence
It’s weird seeing them with “normal” people 😂
Oli looks so bored talking to these npc’s lmao
I love how smooth he plays off our cringey asf news people showing clips of him as a 8 year old. Oli is a gem.

Props to that anchor at the end for pin-pointing the scream in the performance. Great ear! That anchor was looking out for the metal culture 🤘🏽

Lame interview, typical. Love how Oli pointed out his auto tune, so humble.
What are these questions like did they really think no one knew them before making 1 song with Ed sheeran 😐
Honestly 💀😭😭😭
“evidence in 8x10s” the scene vibe is too much to handle
Like how they say we love this!! when their opinion clearly holds no weight to it! 😆
