This bargain Disneyland was my childhood. Seriously, every June my family (Like aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma, the whole kit and caboodle) would come to this park. We'd start in Storybook forest, do Mr. Roger's neighborhood and the water park in the afternoon, and then do rides until the park closed. Lots and lot of wonderful memories here. That being said The random audio from the attractions paired with the creepy figurines and random face cutouts (which I have only recently seen in family pictures) through a shaky cam just make me feel like I got a glimpse into a different dimension. I mean, I can still smell it.
I grew up coming here. Not much has changes since the last time around ‘95. 21:00 we used to always say “Jack be Nimble, Jack be quick. Jack burned his heinie. “
My grandmother and Grandfather use to take me to Idlewild Park all the time when I was extremely Young about 3 years old until I was like 12. I was born in 1996 i'm 23 now. The first place we always went to was Story book Forrest. That Lady who plays mother goose and was at the beginning of the video has been there for since I could remember. I went there with my girlfriend this year 2019 and I can tell you so much has changed. I miss Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood, soak zone isn't like it use to be, the wild mouse is always closed. I had a good childhood and it just goes to show what old things are still there and what things have change.
I very much agree with you. Idlewild seemed to be at its peak until about 2008. At that point, effects on Mister Rogers started to deteriorate and hand-painted signs in Story Book started to be replaced with generic versions. Since 2013, with the closure of Mister Rogers, the Caterpillar, and Dizzy Lizzy's, the park is nothing like it used to be. The new Rollo Coaster trains certainly didn't help things. It's fortunate that you got to go to Idlewild when it was at its best in recent years. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
I went there since 2004, (when i was 2, and have worked for two years at) and so much has changed, collectivly:(From main land) The Whip, The Round-Up, The Caterpillar,(From Kiddieland) Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood, The Carnival attraction, (In Jumpin' Jungle) the scooters and zipline, Dizzy Lizzies from Hootin' Holler and FINALLY (In Story Book Forest) The Magic Carpet. They also changed around Soakzone to have a wave pool and lazy river (Which i greatly miss the water turrets) as well as the recent renovations to the RolloCoaster.
Yes, so many dramatic changes in a short amount of time. I wonder sometimes how much life Idlewild has left in it, as all these removed attractions have been replaced by nothing (excepting Mister Rogers). In Story Book Forest, Jack and the Bean Stalk and Peter Rabbit are also gone. I'm glad that people share my sentiments on these matters! I hope that things will turn for the better soon. Little differences like this really add up.
They've been gone for probably over a decade. It would be awesome to see SBF add some new, little displays like that, but since they don't make any extra money, I won't hold my breath.
I remember when I was little I swore the red riding hood wolf winked at me as I was walking past and I didn’t go in that one again for a while. Seeing it still made me a little uneasy
I am happy that they left it as it is. I'm 18 now but I remember going there when I was probably 5 or 4 after the mister Rogers neaborhood ride. Boy I miss it.
Is storybook forest still open? and if so what is the hours and days that they are open? Oh my gosh I hope it is I would so love to take my grandkids....
My parents took all 6 of us kids every year. And I took my two daughters when I became a mom. Now I take my grandson. But with all this corona virus going on I can't take him this year, I wish I could because my daughter just gave me a granddaughter who will be 1 and both my grandkids would love to go I know my grandson loves it

I'm SO glad you mentioned the smell! It's a unique smell and when I occasionally smell it all I can describe it as is "Idewild". 😂
Lol I just mentioned the story book Forest smell in another video cause I'm on a Idlewild binge watch
I just had a 40 year flashback. Can vividly remember some parts of it, like going up those wooden steps to see that house.

Brings back childhood memories of my parents taking me there

Haha, that's a good memory. When I saw it at first I was scared it was going to jump out.

I am 60 today. I remember my grandparents taking us there in 1968. It looks the same.
About 10 years younger, but I was surprised they kept the place in good condition. Not easy with those winters wearing down the wood and paint.
I’m ur 200th subscriber! I love the content because I used to live in Pittsburgh. Keep up the amazing work!
bob the Builder, Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow they really kept the place in decent condition over half a century later. Having massive flashbacks here.
Are used to love this please
