Trimper's Carousel Building - Ocean City, MD
Переглядів 2,7 тис.5 місяців тому
A walk through the historic carousel building at Trimper's Rides in Ocean City, Maryland. The building includes several vintage kiddie rides built by W.F. Mangels surrounding a Herschell-Spillman carousel from 1912. Note the gorgeous hand-painted murals on the rides as well as the vintage trash cans. Something I can't capture in the video: the wonderful smell that's like a combination of seasid...

The Last Midget Autopia! Ricky's Racers at Idlewild and SoakZone
Переглядів 259Рік тому
Best known as the Midget Autopia at Disneyland, the Arrowflite kiddie turnpike ride was popular at amusement parks in the 1950s and 60s. Though the Midget Autopia was relocated and is currently in storage, a sister ride still operates in the western Pennsylvania mountains. Ricky's Racers is the last Arrowflite kiddie car ride operating in the world, manufactured by Arrow Dynamics and originally...

The Kangaroo's new backdrop is a tribute to a smiliar one that was part of the ride decades ago, with Kangaroo lights animated in a similar style as the Turtle sign across the park!

@@amusementnow4416 ok
I grew up coming here. Not much has changes since the last time around ‘95. 21:00 we used to always say “Jack be Nimble, Jack be quick. Jack burned his heinie. “
This is what I remember Kennywood as.
This is so legendary
First of all , I mean NO disrespect to anyone with what I have to say . I believe it was a Conspiracy to have Conneaut Lake Park removed ! . Look at all the property that surrounds the Park . Then ask yourself Why ? Would you let Todd Joseph walk right in and literally destroy the Park , and all the memories that each and everyone of us cherish of the Park ? It makes no sense to me at all . The people that dedicated their lives and hard earned money to the park , And all the Fan's that enjoyed the Park for what it was . We understood things were worn out and a little dirty . But that was what we looked forward too. I admit , My heart will always be broken because of this ignorance and planned failure . So when Mr. Joseph places his Condominiums there . I am sure all of you will enjoy counting your money and NOT your Blessings ! Thank You for reading my thoughts , and may God Bless all of Us .
Totally agree! The world would be a better place if Todd Joseph never entered it.
Thank you for this! I'm a longtime fan of the original doc!
Last year, They had a new Water Coaster Slide at the Water World.
Awesome video! It's definitely unlike any other place out there.
Really enjoyed seeing this! Next best thing to being there. The ticket booth is incredible!
It really is! It was used for a theater before being used by the park starting in the 1920s
The station that you thought was for the roller coaster was the station for the miniature train ride that went down to the swimming area. I rode that train many times in the 1950's.
The Kangaroo got changed in 2022 and the Paratrooper got removed for that ride!
They removed the Kagaroo and Paratrooper at the same time, but brought back the Kangaroo the following year due to popular demand.
And I rode the Kangaroo when the Paratrooper is every time on 2023 and 2024😊
No water on the Pattleboats?
What about the SpinVasion?
This was published 5 years ago, before SpinVasion.
What made my day about this change of conneaunt lake Park of the entrance that got rid of the crazy traffic it is hard to get to the rides restroom and to the midway. It was hard with cars, trucks and semi trucks coming thru made it hard to get across the street. I am so glad of these changes that rid of it of the traffic and made it safer for the kids to get to the rides as well
Thank you for bringing back the coobse. I sure do miss the coobse in the of the train. Any way thank you so much for bringing back the coobse and all trains should have the coobse in the back of the train
People watching this in 2024
...And then, there was one.
Chat stranger
I first went there in the 60's. Many fond memories. Nice video, well done, thank you.
Thank you! We will always have our memories of the park!
Greetings! May I use this footage in a video I'm making about dark rides? I will give your channel full credit.
For sure! Looking forward to the video!
you missed a lot of other rides.
Which ones? This was posted 4 years ago, so that might be why you think so.
the dippers roller coasters. my dad worked there in the 50s.@@HowTo4Uvideos
Thanks 🙏🏾
This moment in history always makes me cry. All the carousels that couldn't be saved, and this one not only got saved, but had the best restoration a carousel could get!
Exactly! I'd love to visit it myself someday
What wonderful footage of Kennywood's original "Laser Loop". I remember when that opened up. I've ridden quite a few of the Anton Schwartzkopf shuttle loops when they existed.
You are very fortunate. I saw the pieces sitting the parking lot at Niagara Amusement Park this year, and it doesn't appear promising that it will return.
3:40 are those body bags?!
I think so! Idlewild is macabre!
This was one of two only Tumble Bugs left at the time... Who knows, Kennywood might be next, it is possible for the Tumble Bug at Conneaut and maybe Chippewa Lake's Tumble Bug to be restored, while the others are long gone.
Kennywood's will be here for at least another generation given this year's refurbishment project!
went to phantom fall fest the other night, pretty sure i saw you running the whip. keep up the great work, would love to see more videos
Yes that would be me lol! Making videos has taken a backseat to other priorities, but I hope to get back to it eventually.
been to kennywood many times and yes that carousel is 1 big machine.
Oh wow... The LASER LOOP. I was too small to ride this when it existed here in Pittsburgh... sadly, I doubt Ill be driving to the Canadian border just to ride this. Kennywood should have kept this AND the Kangaroo... Those were like... the SOUL of that park.
Fortunately, the Kangaroo made its return last year! Thanks for sharing your memories!
@@amusementnow4416 Great News!
You don't have to drive over the border, it's being built at Niagara amusement park in NY
I can confirm after my first National Carousel Association Convention, that yes, they still “dance” on the platforms, and the horses look better than ever with shiny new restorations.
Why these ppl complaining steel curtain is one of the best roller coasters in the world now
When it's actually open! 😂
The first coaster I rode was the Comet when I was about 14. Good job!
Original phantom messed peoples necks up lol
The last Caterpillar ride is at Canobie Lake Park in NH.. Loved this film! Our kids got it as a gift and it led to road trips and adventures
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, TODD JOSEPH, YOU GREEDY DIRTBAG
R.I.P Log Jammer :(
About how they talk about a couple of parks had miniature trains, there are some that have 3 foot narrow gauge trains, even Cedar Point park has a 3 foot narrow gauge railroad, I saw it on an episode of the TV show Tracks Ahead
Very shameful that this park fell to permanent closure.
It was a tragic loss
Sad how this park ended
They use to the rocking rally in the late 80's early 90's man while you were there you were already trying to reserve a spot for the next year alot of famous bands played there I alone have seen moly moly hatched, blue oyster cult, willy Nelson, steppenwolf, foghat and alot more thos were the best times in my life I wish there was more info on it...
So sad Blue Streak burned down. And everything else will be gone soon too. So many good memories.
Nice video kid. Hope you get to 1000 subscribers soon so you can monetize your videos.
Thank you!
Kennywood👍
I think it would be super cool if the park were to be rebuilt. A revived Cascade Park would likely be Bushkill-esque, hopefully it would eventually include a coaster using Comet's footers but that's probably a pipe dream.
Nice job. My dad worked for the Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City and every year they had their company picnic at Conneaut. Have so many fond memories of the place. Thank you for your video.
I could write a book on my experiences at Beautiful Cascade Park!!! Spent my childhood going there and then on into my teens an adulthood!!! Oh the memories!!! I had a crush on Melba Vesco, Mr. Vesco's daughter!!!
Any sign of rail from a miniature train ride?
No it's all been removed.
@@amusementnow4416 But there was a train ride at one time?
I just ran across this video. I just took a walk around this beautiful park. You really did an awesome job showing the old roller coaster footings etc. Thank you!
I'm glad you got to visit!
Nice! I will be going😃
