I really like the comp footage reference. It adds credibility to the technique given there is so much rubbish out there. Please keep that up. Also would love to see more in detailed comp break downs from you. Keep up the great work. You’ve quickly become my favourite online resource.
I'm just beginning to study BJJ. My focus is learning all I can both for myself and to help teach my grandsons. You are a great teacher as well as a great practitioner! Such a wealth of knowledge! Thank you so much for sharing these lessons online teacher!
Thank you for this. Do you happen to know of anyone who plays a lot of overhook closed guard? That has been my go-to for quite a while now, but i don't know anyone who plays it so I am figuring it out as I go. The little pointer about pummeling under the forearm to get to the bicep and then back to the wrist was an awesome tip for my game.
Hi Jon, love your stuff per usual! Can you make a video on aggressiveness and mind set when training? When do you go full aggro vs more laid back to work new techniques, etc? Do you have a balance you like? As a 3 day a week hobbyist trying to keep pace with folks that train more frequently, I catch myself being lax or sometimes feeling bad/guilty when I go 90-100% while rolling (especially lower belts). Your thoughts are appreciated!
Hi Jon, thank you for the video. Triangle is one of my favorite submissions :) At the end of the video, you asked if there are any topics your viewers would like you to discuss. May I suggest inverted triangles? I can never submit my opponents/partners with it... I usually just hold it until the time runs out.
Havent even watched it yet but triangle been my A game since blue belt all the way to black. Maybe ill even find some new ideas in your vid. Love your content keep it up !
6:53 when I try this they often times grab my pant grip and start passing me from there (knee cut). Any tips on controlling their wrist to prevent that?
Thank you so much professor! The problem I have is getting the right angle when my opponent is bulky. I'd love to see a video on this about how to overcome it. I love the 🔺️ but it can be a pain in the butt to get on certain opponents.
I love triangles, but I believe you should have a disclaimer that flying triangle is potentially dangerous, especially in competitions when everyone is way more tense. Lots of things could go wrong from bad fall to knee injury for your partner, so I'd reserve it for more experienced bjj practitioners and only after alot of practice. Don't be a rowdy white belt and try to pull flying triangles! You or your opponent can get hurt easily.
Yeah people should definitely be careful, I used it as a white belt as well, so I don’t think it’s necessarily that dangerous, but of course me smart using it.
@@JonThomasBJJ well you seem like a very athletic type and you may have had better control over your nerves when you started. Lots of white belts I roll with are like bulls in china shop till they get closer to blue. IMHO this is not the move to yolo without good practice and control over your (and your opponents) body. Love your other triangles setup tips though. My personal favorite is a same side grip with opposite shoulder control. It's fairly simple to setup and actually tricky to defend even when you see it coming because of a pressure you can put on setting it up.

Great timing. My student got triangled a lot last competitiona, so now we have some details on the setups to start working on the defense.
Yeah my favorites are the collar sleeve and double sleeve set up they are so hard to stop.
dude. you're a wizard. always such great content
Love the talking format, competition examples, and background of the moves along with the instruction. Thanks Jon!
You're on a roll, so many great tutorials lately, thanks!
Thanks a lot I have been having fun trying to evolve the style of video
Oh boy! I can't wait to go for that side control triangle !! Thanks !!
Yeah that side control set up is super strong.
Fantastic Instruction. You are as gifted as a teacher as you are a practitioner. Thank you for the knowledge.

Great stuff! I need to start incorporating the double sleeve grip versions more. Thank you for sharing.
The double sleeve triangle is so powerful because it’s so hard to feel coming it’s such a hard to predict submission.
Really cool to see @JonThomasBJJ do a shout out to one of our professors Felipe Andrew 😀
Always very happy to watch high-quality instruction videos! Thank you :)
Thanks so much really appreciate the support!
Would love to see you do a video on counters to counters to the triangle.
Love ya work Jon!
Thanks so much!
osssss, Jon!! your shots are so fast and snake like I love watching these. Thanks for the vast value, man
Love the deep Lasso set up. Hard to find good info on deep lasso.
Yeah the deep lasso set ups are super fun, so many great combos from there.
The side control triangle could easily be a stand alone video...that's so cool!
I might do a full video on that as well.
Wow! I love your approach! I think I just found my favorite BJJ channel!
Super helpful. Thank you!

I think Mario reis had a lot of matches using it, I think meregali maybe as well since he trained under Mario a lotv
I love all of these setups and they are pretty much the only subs I hit!
The triangle is so versatile and I feel it’s one of the highest percentage finishes once you get into it.
Always the best content
I love your content. Thank you so much.

Thank you

Thanks a lot buddy! Triangle has been one of my favorites since I started and it still is, so versatile and so many ways to set it up.
I can't explain why but from all UA-cam bjj related "how to..." videos Yours are the best for me🙂
Well happy to hear it buddy means a lot and help keep me motivated to continue making videos.
You’re amazing
could you look into triangle entries from kesa getame or scarfold?
Could you do some troubleshooting for finishing omoplata
I’ve been having trouble triangling bigger guys. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Besides trying to go for the armbar from triangle.
Beautiful ❤️
Thanks buddy
have you ever played with the side triangle?
this was great. can you make a "5 most powerful omoplatas" video :D
I can definitely cover that as well!

Thanks so much hope you like the rest! Appreciate the support!
Wardzinks?
Do barata plata setups
I need to work on it a bit more before I would do a video on it since I don’t do it much my self.
I can never push the arm across once I shoot they just hold on to gi or belt and tuck that damn thin in so hard lol
