Well At the same night Adele failed to do a tribute to Goerge Michael . She stop the music, swearing, and redo it over.. she can not find the que, and cause her to sing flat and pitchy... Please my English is terrible, but atleast you understand it.
The Grammys have proven themselves to be not about talent but instead about popularity. Popularity has never been indicative of taste or style just what the masses are force fed.
I hate how the Grammys dissed Britney Spears' only performance there (a mix of Baby One More Time and From the Bottom of my Broken Heart). She sounded and looked great and is one of several videos that proves that she has sung live.
From what I read, David Bowie wasn't a fan of Lady Gaga's because he didn't understand her music. And obviously, the Grammys wanted to capitalize on Gaga being a fan of Bowie's. Even David's son didn't like the tribute
I remember one blogger suggested that it would have been better if Gaga took just one Bowie song and sang the hell out of it, since she's capable of singing the hell out of any song, instead of the mashup.
@@Betterthingswecanachieve I didn’t mean to suggest it’s bland; I think she makes very catchy pop and I have most of her albums but then again, I’m gay. If u don’t like Gaga, you get kicked out of the rainbow club 😆

The Hollywood Vampires were designed as a secret drinking club at the Rainbow, it was never meant to be a band. Maybe it should have stayed that way, yeahhh.
The Grammys have always been known to throw together a mix of performers more with the goal of creating controversy and notoriety than to guarantee a good performance.
Trying to make the MJ tribute 3D was odd. "Earth Song" was not the best song for a tribute either. "Man in the Mirror" or a song from Thriller would have been better choices.
Also, that Earth Song tribute was cool. Y’all just probably thought it be up there with MJ’s version, which it was never gonna reach because it’s MJ. He’s that high tier of an artist
Most of these "worst" performancances are bs. I've been to enough concerts to know that most bands sound like crap compared to the studio songs. You're not there for thw sound quality but the show
I disagree with this list, Gaga’s David Bowie performance is not good but definitely not the worst. Plus it was assigned to her last minutes when shes supposed to do a completely different show for her own song. Plus the Metallica one was because of the Mic and its nothing to do with her.
Nobody in 2004 thought OutKast's performance was tone deaf. I get the sentiment nowadays, but acting like the native tribalism angle is the main reason that performance wasn't good is simply being disingenuous. At the time, the vocals were the worst part of it. Keep it to that.
It seems a bit unfair to include Harry Styles’ performance on this list seeing as how it was the Grammys production’s fault that the stage started spinning in the wrong direction. This caused everyone to have to adjust their choreography in real time and do it “backwards” from what they had rehearsed. I think he still put on a good performance despite how stressful I’m sure that was.
JLO is like Madonna, an old lady refusing to retire and hang up her ‘dancing’ shoes leaving way for the young uns to come forward with their talents to take over!…their time has come, and disgracefully ‘bow out’. from drowning to be relevant … from ‘summit to plummet’! Diddys little gofer’s!
I feel like the Adele and Harry Styles because that were shitty set malfunctions, and not their crap visions for the performance. Also, there was an era where they would stuff as many people on the stage and have them sing a portion of their song.
WatchMojo can you please do research on Milli Vanilli instead of constantly taking jabs at them when you have them featured in your videos?? First Robert Pilatus is no longer here, he passed in 1998 due to a drug relapse over this lip-synching backlash. 😢 There’s much, much more to the story; the ones who SHOULD be getting the backlash is their manager, Fabrice Morvan who specialized in only wanting lip-synching groups, the ppl who did the singing & made money off of it but blamed Milli Vanilli still for “dulling their shine”, Clive Davis who FULLY supported the lip-synching, AND the GRAMMYS who KNEW what was going on BEFORE awarding Milli Vanilli the Grammy. So they knew (the Grammys) about the lip-synching & STILL awarded them the Grammy!!! Then their slimy greedy sleeze of a manager ran to the press to “confess” & clear his name. Milli Vanilli took all the heat. I blamed them too…until I learned the truth; plus that is a different world!! Us regular folk aren’t celebrities!!! Why do we try to treat them to the same rules?? They live by different rules & contracts. The Diddy situation should teach you that if anything else!! It’s all a lie! I will NEVER respect the Grammys again. If they can be lowdown like that, think of how many deserving artists they pass up for “wheeling & dealing” with management teams & big bosses. Get out of here with that ish. If Milli Vanilli are guilty of anything, it’s being too young, too naive with stars in their eyes, wanting fame too much too soon with no one too look out for them, & trusting leeches instead of ppl that had their true interests at heart. Just very, very sad! Shame on you SCAMMYS & CLIVE DAVIS!!!

No, we can’t because that’s not a true statement. She was incredible on both performances. First female rapper to perform at the Super Bowl and have a solo performance at the Grammys. She’s the moment, always!
Sorry, but the Milli Vanilli "performance" was the absolute worst. It was so blatantly obvious the guys were lip-syncing the song because there was not one single point where their voices ever faltered despite all the hopping around they were doing on stage. It takes years of constant practice to dance AND sing without breathing issues being apparent and these guys were NOT trained vocalists to begin with. (Just try doing a little running in place or a set of jumping jacks while singing anything for just 1 minute and see how "off" your singing sounds.) Stage productions tend to limit the heavier choreography to the background singers (who may not actually be doing any vocals anyway) while the leads are performing much less strenuous choreo and if/when the leads are doing some major-league choreo, it's usually during an instrumental section with enough time so they can literally catch their breath before having to belt out more music.
What about that Disney’s We Don’t Talk About Bruno performance?! I like the American Idol one a lot better despite not having the all of original cast return for the segments in the song straight from the film itself. Notice that these "worse" performances are from the last 20 years? Thats because these "artists" are crap and so is the music being put out. I miss the old days when there were artists with true talent. I only listen to music from the 60's to the early 90's. the rest is just awful. There are a few, VERY FEW, that still make anything worth listening to. Also, I've never understood why people think Lopez is so great.
Jesus. Some of these picks are questionable to say the least. Metalliica/Gaga was handled super well with improvised mic sharing and they ended up airing the rehearsal the day before anyway, which was great. That was never going to be an all timer, but it's super weird to have this on the list, as were many other performances. I also wasn't the biggest Nicki fan at the time. That performance was blatantly trying to outdo Gaga's 2009 VMA Paparazzi performance, but it still was camp and succeeded at what it set out to do. Is it #1 simply because of the nature of shock art? This list is weird, but at least Milli Vanilli isn't #1 for once (even if it probably deserved it).
