If they did it as prequel a few years ago it would’ve been great but because a quiet place did a prequel called day one which is sort of similar in a way to. I am legend it’s been done so. But they could do it a little bit better than quiet place then I’ll be down for a sequel would be better, but either way would be great for a sequel or prequel, but I’m legend

the only thing I will say about Dogma 2 "missing it's window" for a potential sequel...Kevin Smith lost the rights to Dogma as an entity soon after making it. He only recently got those rights back. He may have always wanted a sequel (I don't know why though, that movie is perfect) but was never able to do anything about it.
Hes also not really making Dogma 2. He made a comment about ‘starting the script tonight’ clearly as a joke but some media outlets took the comment and ran with it. Will he make it someday? Its possible. But its absolutely not on his to do list for years to come.

Sometimes these movies work as pleasers for the "movie theater" experience. Which makes them somehow decent. Using "pretty good" might be a tad too much, but it wasn't awful. Surely not a good one. Which place it in that limbo of being enjoyable enough to let you go and watch something mildly entertaining. That's something it can be said was "pretty good".
Gladiator 2 made 468 mil dollars. That thing DID NOT pay for itself! Ridley needs to stop making movies. That man simply doesn't give a damn whether his own movies are any good anymore let alone films he produces. Like Alien Romulus.

_I Am Legend_ by Richard Matheson is a very short read. Folks, if you haven't, do yourself a huge favor and read it, after you'll be disappointed how no one has ever successfully adapted its eloquent influential story. Like _Dune_ is to Star Wars, _I Am Legend_ is to Romero's _Night of the Living Dead,_ ie the whole modern zombie genre.

I think that if they do another Bill and Ted movie, it has to be about intergalactic travel. They should have done that with the third one. What made 1 and 2 so good were that they were totally different in the sense that one was about time travel and the other was about the afterlife. 3 should have been about Space Travel and if 4 was really necessary, interdimensional travel.

Kevin Smith himself said that Harvey he who must not be named called him about a Dogma sequel and got him excited about making it. The problem was that Harvey had zero intention of making the movie. He was just sending out feelers and trying to get people to defend him because the allegations were all about to drop. After that one call to butter up Smith, he never heard from him again.
Mostly agree with the list but I loved Free Guy, I'd go see a sequel - and Hocus Pocus 3 seemed kind of inevitable given the events of Hocus Pocus 2 introducing a true villain in the series beyond the sisters
I want Orphan 3, even if it starts with Esther surfacing in the icy pond with a magically unbroken neck and running off into the woods without Vera Farmiga noticing, and before the ambulance/cops arrive 😂 Also, I want an Ice Age where Diego and his girlfriend have a litter of sabre-kittens 🐱

Clerks 3 was fantastic and I can't see why any Smith fan wouldn't love it. I didn't expect to laugh as hard as I did, and I definitely didn't expect to cry. Smith this has it, and he wouldn't make Dogma 2 unless there was passion behind it.
If an "I Am Legend" adaptation isn't going to give us the original ending Matheson wrote that makes the title make sense what is even the point. Otherwise it's just another generic zombie film
Trust me: money is NOT the reason for Dogma 2. Smith doesn’t really care about making hugely profitable movies - once Jersey Girl flopped he retreated back to the Askewniverse, Cop Out failing saw him deciding to focus on doing his own thing like Red State and Tusk. He makes films because he WANTS to, and he’s been revisiting his older stuff for a while but Dogma in particular was tied up in rights issues Free Guy 2: the smaller box office was down in part to its availability on streaming. And D&W’s Chris Evans’ cameo there got people talking about Free Guy again because of his cameo there
I absolutely loved Free Guy. Maybe not the perfect film but for the story it told, the ending it had was close to perfect. Leave it alone and let it exist as it is
Free Guy 2 would be fun to watch if for no other reason then another cameo on par with Chris Evens saying WTF. Last I heard, Kevin Smith has stated the rights to Dogma are still owner by weinstein and he will never work with him, so if a sequel was made it would be over his dead body... hopefully
It would be really easy to retcon Esther's death in Orphan. Considering that the character IS in her 30s, you could pull off an actress of that age playing her. I thought First Kill was a ton of fun and would love to see more of Esther's insane escapades.

I Am Legend deserves a limited series treatment that follows the book. I'm not usually so stuck up about whether a book or movie is better, but I Am Legend differs so wildly from the book for no good reason. I think a solid 5-6 episode series would be great for the build-up in the book

I agree that many of these movies don't really need a sequel or a third installment. However, I must admit that I would love to see one more Back to the Future movie. I understand the circumstances surrounding Michael J. Fox, but I believe he still has one more performance in him, as do the other original cast members who are still alive.
Dogma 2 is worth it especially when you understand the background drama regarding the rights to it. Now if you really want to talk about wtf Hollywood is thinking Goonies 2 should be mentioned.
Bill and Ted 4? Please no. The 3rd was bad. I don’t know how you can say it didn’t retroactively ruin the first two, but it did. Part 1 told us Bill and Ted and the great ones and their music would solve the problems of the world. Part 2 ended showing all the news articles that showed how great everything was turning out. Part 3 says whoops, your kids are actually the ones that do it….
I've not seen the original Roadhouse, but I loved the remake. It was weird and kind of a blast. I'm fine with a sequel. I agree with the rest of the list.

I Am Legend 2 should be a prequel, showing the fall of humanity and a group of survivors slowly dwindling would have been interesting.

Ridley needs to sit down and enjoy whatever time he has left. I heard that he was not in top form during Gladiator 2. I am officially tired of sequels.
If they were going to make a sequel to Dodgeball, it needs Stiller and Vaughn.
I simply had no interest in seeing the sequel to gladiator. That is one story that ran its course and had not a single person on Earth clamoring for another

@@etherealicer Indeed. I can remember what a big hit Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" live-action film was. How could a sequel have possibly failed when the first film did so well huh? You can't always predict audience interest after some time.
@@etherealicer Lots of terrible films have been massive blockbuster financial successes (Google it), money isnt the true measure of the quality of a movie.

I agree that many of these movies don't really need a sequel or a third installment. However, I must admit that I would love to see one more Back to the Future movie. I understand the circumstances surrounding Michael J. Fox, but I believe he still has one more performance in him, as do the other original cast members who are still alive.

Dogma 2 is worth it especially when you understand the background drama regarding the rights to it. Now if you really want to talk about wtf Hollywood is thinking Goonies 2 should be mentioned.
Me. Ive been givin free guy a 2nd thought . And a 3rd. It is excellent, rewatchable, and faith restoring.
There's a sequel to Dogma? Yeah, no way that's gonna be anywhere near as good as the original.
Bill and Ted 4? Please no. The 3rd was bad. I don’t know how you can say it didn’t retroactively ruin the first two, but it did. Part 1 told us Bill and Ted and the great ones and their music would solve the problems of the world. Part 2 ended showing all the news articles that showed how great everything was turning out. Part 3 says whoops, your kids are actually the ones that do it….

I've not seen the original Roadhouse, but I loved the remake. It was weird and kind of a blast. I'm fine with a sequel. I agree with the rest of the list.
