Thanks bro! And yes, having an emulator makes things soooo much easier to record. It doesn’t feel as right playing compared to playing on the original consoles, of course, but it makes life easier (plus the quality comes out cleaner). I have an adaptor for reviewing N64/PS1 and up, but 8/16-bit gets the ol emulator treatment. lol
Still my favorite 2D Mario. The nostalgia is strong with this one. Thankfully it’s an awesome game so it’s super fun to go back to time and time again. Great review. 👍

Mario 2 brings back a lot of early NES memories for me and I think I played it at my friend's house shortly after it came out and only maybe 6-9 months after I had played Mario 1 for the first time. Looking forward to more. Keep up the great work, dude! I’ve only played this one a couple times because I didn’t grow up with it, but I’ve always liked it. I learned some new things watching your video too! I honestly didn’t know it was a Nintendo team behind Doki Doki Panic. It makes people’s arguments about ripping it off hold less water
I have so many fond memories of this game! I finally beat it when it made the Nintendo switch NES app. Just a solid game all around, definitely added a bunch to the Mario lore for being “just a dream” 🤩
This game will always be the "real" Super Mario Bros. 2 to me. I have a lot of nostalgia for it as it was one of the first games I got with the system as a kid (along with the original Mario Bros. arcade gamecand RoboCop). Thank you Howard Phillips for being the one responsible for us getting this crazy acid trip of a game. P.S. The All-Stars version will always be my preferred version...the Advance version altered the game way too much for me and not in a good way (the cringey voice clips get really annoying after a while).
Yeah, the All-Stars version is pretty legit. While I do prefer the Advance version, I admit, I can’t stand how the screen zooms in a bit (since the game was designed for a smaller screen). I like to see as many enemies and whatnot on the screen. lol
Mario 2 hits hard for me with nostalgia. It was one of the few games I played the crap out of when I was a kid. I wasn't too fond of Mario 1 or Mario 3 since I was a SEGA kid growing up, but Mario 2 hit different lol And yes, I am also sick of the "Doki Doki Panic" info myself. BUT what I didn't know is that the same Mario team made Doki Doki Panic, so that makes Mario 2 an official Mario 2 game more than that Lost Levels crap.
Probably the only Mario game I haven't beaten. It just never grabbed my attention enough, but maybe I'll give it another go soon. Awesome vid as always

If the Mario Bros. movie does really well, it could open up the door for Nintendo to take chances on their other properties like Metroid or Zelda for a feature film. We shall see. Anyway, great review. Even as a kid I felt something was a bit off with Mario 2, since it just seemed so different compared to the first, and third games.
