@@NoName-pi3dx He also just replied to a comment in the review before that he will probably forget about the mechanic for some synergy soon. There we are.
@@NoName-pi3dxI may be misunderstanding you, but you can only play the cards from other classes from this set exclusively. I think that’s 18 cards per class but unlikely that you would run ever single card from the other class. I think it’s more likely that you will on average run 4-8 cards from another class in a tourist deck. Your point isn’t moot, just not as powerful as discounting half your deck by 1 mana
The not start in deck condition is actually very easy to meet without any RNG. And is put him in ETC’s Band. We know cards in said band don’t start in your deck because duplicate cards won’t ruin single card decks, and Gen’s ability will activate in even only decks even if there are odd cost cards in the band.
I think that is a big miss in Regis' review. He mentioned that it would be difficult to get consistent results off of it, but I totally disagree - with Tourist decks, there is a ton of room to make consistent usage of it. In most cases, you'll get at least a 3/4 for 1 or 0 mana.
That's incredibly bad lol, you'd never want to run a very situational 5-drop just to potentially silence and destroy a random minion in the enemy's hand. Why not just use a better removal spell?
I think Griftah is actually going to be pretty good in Reno/midrange decks. The discover aspect makes it so you can always pick the one that helps you more than your opponent. Healing helps you against aggro, card generation helps when you are behind, or taking control of a minion when they have the only big one. Maybe a bit of a learning curve but I think this will end up seeing a lot of play
Does Concierge work with tourist cards ? Cuz like, play half of your deck from the tourist class, and voila ! Alot of cards the Concierge works on, cuz the tourist class of your deck isn't your class, right ?
Without a doubt 2 of the most played cards this expansion will be pupil and concierge. 1 mana 2-1 with “give me back my spells that I can dictate what is put in,” and with the new tourism mechanic concierge is an auto include in every deck that heavily runs the other class. Easily 4 star cards and 5 star cards by usage this set.
Pupil will be pretty good and played, but having to hold a card until you have played 3 cards with it in hand is pretty hard especially if you topdeck it while fairly low on resources. It's not as insane as it first seems. Concierge is just a 3 mana 3/4 so you would have to play 2 or more cards with it in play to be truly worth it, depending on the costs of the other class cards you want there could be some trouble. Something I could see happening is a Paladin combo / miracle deck with Lynessa, Concierge and some cheap rogue spells but even there I'm iffy on it
@@TheMirkstaBoth will be in aggro miracle or combo decks so itll be easy for those decks to fulfil the condition, since their strategy will likely predicate around it.
Pupil can be strong when You look at all of these new ways to generate cheap powerful spells. Concierge not so much, remember tourism only works with this expansion, so miracle stuff just on the base of it seems unlikely.
I have a feeling ele mage is about to pop off, its a pretty good deck imo just has issues finishing. I bet a few patches into the expansion that ele will get the pen flinger treatment
Sometimes hearing that stats fall off very quickly is very sad, I know it has been like that but a card just have to do something broken this days or isn't considered good and just playing a 4/5 for 4 mana is considered such a huge downside 🙁
Dirty Rat should work with Bayfin. Turn 7 2/6 Taunt and 4/7 body that removes a minion entirely before oppo gets to benefit from it entirely. Honestly not a bad tempo turn at all.
On the top of my head beyond deathrattles, Bayfin Bodybuilder would work wonders with Dirty Rat (even better with Shuderblock) , reborn minions, specially Zilliax which is everywhere, Showdown for Pally plus a couple of secrets
Lamplighter is a 4-star card for me since we lack the end-game damage for both Shaman and Mage Element. And it is also not useless early game since a 3-mana card to deal 3~5 damage is pretty good. Tidepool is at least 3-star too since it is a weaker but lower-costed Commander Sivara which had a very good record for Mage
With that Dread Deserter card it makes me wonder if Hearthstone should have a set of cards that exist in the discover pool but only in the discover pool. I know some other people commented this, but it seems like you missed the concierge synergy with tourists. And that does make it very reliable, because with concierge you know that you can discount like 10 cards in your deck (or however many of your tourist class cards you put in there). It's still got the problem of the 3 mana overhead, but depending on the class cards we get this set that might not be such a problem for some classes. I think the thing you were missing with Bayfin Bodybuilder is the Dirty Rat combo. Play Bayfin Bodybuilder than Dirty Rat to just destroy a minion from your opponent's deck basically like how Mutanus did. Except a lot worse because this takes two cards, you don't gain the stats of the destroyed card, and the minion will still be in your opponent's resurrect pool. The upside though is that you could play a second Dirty Rat for a 9 mana double Mutanus effect. Still probably too expensive and too specific to play.
The 3 mana overhead for tourist absolutely doesnt matter, we saw that with sorcs apprentice. Being able to drop 2 and then basically play out your entire deck if you want woll be busted.
Snoozing zookeeper is probably the best neutral removal card we ever get. Its like hysteria with stats. Obviously bad if enemy has no minions but it is a great control tool.
1. Concierge is definitely aimed towards building a "tourist" deck. Build your deck with enough cycle and 1-2 cards from other clases and you have a pseudo Frog/Auctioneer. 2. They actually printed cards with the two most problematic key words: charge and windfury. Sailboat Captain definitely seems like a candidate for getting nerfed at some point, banned in wild too. 3. They should print a payoff card for elemental decks: for the rest of the game, every time you play an elemental draw a card. High in mana so you can't abuse it that much.
I think Overplanner is better then you think. Sure it’s locking your jext 3 draws and they may be good at the point this comes down but you also choose your next 3 cards. You can make a curve happen, you could make sure you only put cheap stuff on top. I think it’s a 4 star card. In Magic you have scry which is kinda similar to dredge but if you scry 3 cards it’s the nuts
I’m a little sour on Griftah. The amulets are pretty good but the counterfeits honestly aren’t much worse, and you’re spending 4 mana to get yours, while your opponent gets theirs entirely for free. The counterfeit Amulet of Mobility and Amulet of Critters I suppose are pretty meh, but the other 5 are honestly quite strong. 1 mana fireball that can only hit minions is honestly not a bad card to just get for free, for example. Same for 1 mana heal 6.
Lamplighter is way too similar to that hunter minion that dealt damage based on hero attacks, or that druid spell that dealt damage based on overload. I remember tricks that doubled battlecries and OTK'd opponents.
Shudderblock + Griftah = make your opponent overdraw cards? Maybe also in rogue with Shadowsteps? Housekeeper could also be used as a ctrl deck tool for mage, and rogue who traditionally lack healing and armor, or for priest to armor out of OTK ranges. I think we have to wait for the new locations. Sailboat Captain will get nerfed to 5 mana anyway. You underrate the Pupil. That card will see play 100%. Bodybuilder + Dirty Rat?
Really think that I spellburst mechanic, or something similar to spell burst will be coming in the upcoming expansions with all this cheap spell synergy
concierge also works for cards you used a tourist to add to your deck I assume. so might be some kind of combo there? since then you do know what you are getting.
Does Dread Deserter work with E.T.C? I guess you would use Leeroy over it but maybe he is already in the deck Very niche situation i know but interesting to think about
Tidepool Pupil only 2*? I would say that's heavily underrated I would say 4* even 5*, extremely good card in rogue decks specially if there's some sort of miracle rogue deck, also nature shaman and naga DH. It's sort of a one mana Commander Sivara
Its kinda crazy how the phony amulets range from pretty meh for the opponent to being kinda.. good still?? Like taking control of an enemy minion, even with it being reduced to 1 attack for the turn, is pretty good? Lots of low attack, high value minions to steal for even just a turn.
Is there an 11 drop in standard or is muck pools cool with seaside giant? Edit: it could be worse. If your already playing muck pools turning an 8/8 into chained guardian could be a respectable play
Pretty sure overplanner is just a 1 star card. It's a cool idea/neat concept, but in practice unless there's a good card printed that cares about the top of your deck somehow you're better off simply playing card draw spells to dig deeper over ordering your next three draws. Sailboat captain also seems overrated. There might be some combo deck out there that makes it work, but the pirate pool would need to be awful to carve out a spot in a more 'straightforward' deck - 3 mana for windfury isn't a good rate and it'll feel dead in hand/a very weak play way too often (your 3 drop being a 2/4 is a huge setback for any kind of tempo deck).
😂maybe a new archetype bayfin priest with dorian and dirty rat and puppet theater where you either steal all their minon or dirty rat bayfin kill their hand
@moreregis I think the anti death rattle aspect has potential, even if it might not be grand on release. I'm also curious how it'll do in shaman with shudderblock plus dirty rat, on paper it sounds like it has potential to annoy control decks quite a bit.
