jean-pierre straub oh wow you have to go back and watch her in Nurse Jackie and Godless. She’s a phenomenal actress. I fell in love with her in Nurse Jackie.
the scene with wever in the diner with that creepy guy was like oscar worthy shit IMO. not one word was uttered on her part yet the way that played out was so perfect. when she finally got up to pay and reached for her wallet by pulling her jacket aside to subtly show her badge. oh man, i had to pause the show just because i was like GET IT GIRLLLL.
wow my exact thoughts..She is just amazing,The last episode of Unbelievable when Kaitlyn called to say Thank you..that back and forth on the phone had me glued to my tv.. She is Outstanding!
The BEST detective pair I have seen!!! A wonderful story and amazing acting by the incredible Toni Collette and Merritt Wever!! Wow!!! I had to watch the entire series in one sitting!!! It was THAT good!!!
It was good but not that great. What I remember most from Merritt's performance was a lot of crossing her arms and tilting her head. I thought the actors were great but the direction was not as good. I didn't really cared for these characters because of the way they were portrayed. I enjoyed the story and the mystery.
Merritt is so sweet, incredibly smart and well-spoken. When asked a serious question, she considers her answers very carefully. I just discovered her and I'm so fascinated by her...
Unbelievable was unbelievable! One of the best shows I've seen so far. I cried alot during the whole episodes, because I could relate to the women, having myself being sexually abused all my life starting at the age of 9. I was also raped. It was sometimes hard to watch but I really needed to know that Marie would finally get justice. This movie made me cry and feel for all the women that goes through this but it also made me cry for myself, especially since I only started to really talk about my assaults two years ago. Wow, what an amazing and well written show.
I have to add and confess I want to be "Duvall" in every way, in fact I've been sharing with my son whom I binged watched UNBELIEVABLE with, that I am consciously trying to talk in a similar softer demeanor daily because of the beautiful graceful Duvall's character.
This show was so outstanding. I cried so much but was also compelled to see, hear, know the truth. So many women go through a private silent hell that just goes on and on and on and it is UNBELIEVABLE where the people who are supposed to help, instead judge, doubt, categorise and re-traumatise, until the person needing help is completely silenced for fear of more unjust, unfounded but extremely potent attack and loss. Thank you for sharing the truth. The truth can set people free.
Meritt was awesome💃💃💃....simple focused and got the concept to believe in women....loved her...no fusses no loud voice.....was really unbelievable.....such true stories should change the society.....was a great attempt....Proud of U Meritt and Toni....well done ❣❣❣❣
ohhh I just adored the Detective Duvall. Such a beautiful nuanced character played perfectly by Wever. Simultaneously tough, strong, determined yet soft-spoken, kind-hearted, warm and honest.
@@t.b.4819 she portrayed a victim like I’ve never seen before. There was not a moment where I didn’t believe she wasn’t in pain and wasn’t a victim of abuse
Exactly, because she didn't recount exactly the same each time, it was treated as a falsehood, instead of a traumatic response. She didn't wail and ball her eyes out so it did not happen. 10 people could be assaulted and each could have a different response.
I am obsessed with this show. Have watched it at least 15 times... and will continue to watch it. Both actresses were incredible... actually all of the actors were very good, believable. I wish there more real life movies of this caliber.
Great show, shows how men, women and some cops just don't believe someone when they are young and vulnerable!!!!!!! Loved both of the female leads and the Actress Kaitlyn Dever, my heart broke for her!
I gotta say - wonderful acting from these women. But also have never seen a Buzzfeed interview I’ve been engaged with on both sides. Great job to the interviewer
OMG.....this was the best thing I’ve seen since BODYGUARD..... this cast was phenomenal..... I couldn’t stop watching.... ONE DAY..... I watched it all in one day....ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !
Outstanding series highlighted by the fascinating relationship of the Merrett and Toni Detective characters....that seems to carry over in real life...as seen in this interview😀!Amazing mutual respect from these two❗️
That series was soooooooooo great. So well written. So interesting. Both actors were amazing. I didnt want it to end. So well thought out. No bS. What ever they got paid they should have been paid so much more.!!!!
The two most emotional scenes were: 1) When Karen and Grace found out about Marie and saw her pictures simultaneous with Marie's therapy session 2) When Parker saw Marie's pictures and knew he was wrong
I saw Merritt in Unbelievable and couldn't place where I'd seen her before. When I googled her, I realized she was the beautiful and quirky Zoey. I absolutely LOVE this woman. This was the first I'd seen her in a serious role. Actually BOTH women were outstanding in this series. I'm currently watching Charlie Says and was so happy to see Merritt in that as well. I'll watch anything she's in.
I knew that Toni was australian but having just binged _Unbelieveable_ and not noticing a single slip on her flawless american accent I was just taken aback when she opened her mouth
Toni Collette is one of the best and most accomplished actors of her generation. She is up there with Meryl, Cate, Viola, Olivia (Coleman), Maxine Pyne, Huppert & Binoche. Merritt Wever is beyond promising, outstanding performances both in Nurse Jackie and Unbelivable
Merritt , 'Unbelievable' role played by you. Director picked up all of your expressions so well. You as a tough cop, especially when you walk with your gun in the holster, lot of grace, understanding to the victims, conversations with the victims were so personal, making them comfortable, at the same time you playing Mommy to little daughters plus the thoughts running through your brain at the time of work are so visible on your cute face. You are cute, gorgeous and lovable !!! Love you Merritt !!! Keep acting I want to see you more. Wish I could meet on one of these days!!
I never watch this kind of stuff, but this was put on by accident and I kept watching (of course cause I love both actresses) it was very good and sad at the same time! This is a real “ me too! “
I just binged this whole show today. As a survivor of sexual assault and rape, it made me feel a sense of relief and hope. It's been 16 years and I still have PTSD and struggles, but seeing a realistic portrayal of not only the victims but the detectives who actually care...got me. I appreciate the respect for this show and for giving people like me a voice. I'm so sad for the ladies this was based on but thrilled they got justice. #metoo
I first saw Merritt in Series 7: The Contenders. She was in one episode of The Good Wife. But because I don't watch premium cable, I haven't seen anything else she's been in. All of a sudden, all things Unbelievable are being suggested by UA-cam and I've found out more about her. Quite interesting!
also yes yes yes about the first two episodes. the juxtaposition between the male detectives basically giving a how to NOT deal with a rape accusation vs wevers demeanor in the second episode and how sensitive she was to dealing with her case.
Unbelievable was fantastic but it was a hard watch. I had a friend who lied about being raped but she is still my friend. However, there had to be a lot of forgiveness on my part because she tried to turn friends against me, saying it happened because I had left her that night. It turns out the CCTV showed her walking into and through this short alleyway with no one else being there and she passed through it with no delays. She apologised and I never said anything, I always assumed she did it from a place of pain, we just showed compassion. I always felt perhaps she had something happen at a different time and was reaching out this way.
I saw Muriel’s Wedding for the first time in I don’t know how many years last night... One of the saddest comedies I’ve ever seen! I never expected it to be that dark of a comedy movie, and it blows my mind that it’s still relevant all these years later!
I love Toni, so proud she’s from Aus. Interviewer , Muriels wedding Toni - How old are you?! Lol famous lines ‘you’re terrible muriel’, ‘I see dead people’, Toni - I say non of them! Hilarious
There is a "I see dead people" moment at the end of this which makes me hope it's true, not just wish full thinking. I was badly treated after a lesser incident & by those who should have helped. It was someone telling me of his own case, that made the difference. Talking is good & showing the painful side after is a bold choice I support both as a viewer & abused person.
Loved this series...I really only watched because of Merritt and Toni. For those of you who don't know Merits work, check out Nurse Jackie..she did that role proud..as for Toni, there is nothing that she is in that I won't watch. Awesome
"Unbelievable" was an excellent series in every scene these two actors are in. I FF through the storyline of the Marie Adler character, which can be tedious with her foster parents, but the overall story is excellent.
I didn't know Merritt until I saw "Unbelievable" and she had me from her very first line. She's perfect in that series
Yes, I thought she was so natural. And shows you the type of detective that should handle these women--and not the first two men.
watch her in godless.
she is in nurse jackie too :)
Check her out on Nurse Jackie! She actually upstages Edie Falco, which I didn't think was possible until I saw Merritt act.
jean-pierre straub oh wow you have to go back and watch her in Nurse Jackie and Godless. She’s a phenomenal actress. I fell in love with her in Nurse Jackie.

Love that scene and shes hot

I’m so glad to see her back in action. She stole the show in “ Nurse Jackie.”
Haha I noticed that when watching Unbelievable, and I wondered if she was just doing it for the character
What is said in what is "not said".....she is perfect and her voice....that voice....

Same here
Me too just binge watched it excellent programme hadn't heard of the crime just came across it on Netflix
Just finished
Unbelievable..I would give Emmy's to Merritt and Toni. It was very captivating.....

@@LuigiTheItalian this comment kind of floors me... Merritt was subtly and skillfully phenomenal in Unbelievable.
Unbelievable that you think that. Bland I thought, just crossing her arms all the time..... Oh she's crossing her arms in the interview.
Merritt Weaver deserves an Emmy nomination for this for sure

They really make a great team.

Good things like this never happen. Their series could turn out to be as massive as the x-files if it ever happens.
true
I ship their characters lol
Am I the only one obsessed with the way she talks
no, you're not alone. Her voice is so therapeutic.
Saazaar Raazaas I loved it so kuch
Alexia nope, she’s soft spoken yet assertive.

imagine being the person who thinks it is necessary to tell Toni Collette to be badass and bitchin as if that isn't already written in her dna
thelonious monk Like Buck from “United States of Tara”, lol 😂🤣🤣
Merritt Wever God!!Love at first sight!! Mesmerized by her Tranquill Eyes
Her voice, omg!!! So soft and sweet
This is the best double act in a detective procedural for years. Both ladies were at the top of their game for this one.
This series was absolutely excellent and Merritt Wever is an incredible actor...stunningly done!! I can't wait to see if the series will continue...
Erika Colnick this was based on a true story. While these two may go on to do similar stories, this one won’t continue because the case is done.
Someone please subtitle what's going on in Merritt's mind. omg I love her soooooooo much !!!
This ! 😭😭
Both amazing, but Merritt Wever is fantastic!!!!
Merritt seems pretty shy. 🥰 Kudos to both of these extremely talented actresses.

She was incredible.
@@jtw.111 yep, she's well on her way to being a huge name in the industry. Both Kaitlyn and Merritt blew me away in Unbelievable.
