I love how the directors literally CONFIRMED all these theories (ie. The parents were going to rapunzels wedding, the Tarzan theory, etc.) then they just threw that all out the window in Frozen 2
Exactly, they thought it all worked out until people noticed discrepancies in those theories and Disney retconned them to not look bad. I really think they made Frozen 2 just to disprove those theories and nothing else.

I always thought that she might’ve just kept cutting it that short so no one could see it. Her brown piece of hair would probably stop growing towards the bottom of her back, maybe even a bit less than that, and it’d be weird to have 70+ feet of a full blonde head of hair and just small chunk of brown hair that’s only 2 or 3 feet long. Keeping that chunk cut when she was a kid would also keep her secret, should anyone find her and try to take her, she can keep her magic a secret for a while longer with that brown piece cut short until she either escapes or the kidnapper realizes that her hair refuses to stop growing, which then she might not have a choice but to show her magic. As she got older she could’ve just kept cutting it out of habit
After watching both Frozen II and your theory, I'm convinced that the Frozen production team took a good look at this video and made "Frozen II" to prove you wrong and rub it in your face, MatPat. Honestly, how do you go from ''going to a wedding'' to "let's find out why our daughter (?) has magic powers"?
This theory is the sequel that would have made more money than the Frozen franchise. Seriously Disney, make some connections in your movies and suddenly you're drowning in the cash. *_my opinion_*

armyoncedirectionerkpopper forever you’re not gonna be all these things *(in your pfn Aka profile name)* forever, you’re gonna move on to other genres just like I did. I moved on from being a Directioner to a Sinner, Skeleton Clique member, MCRMY member *(basically nearly all the rock bands and that)* back to sort-of Directioner, I mainly ship Larry Stylinson and because of that I kinda got back into 1D. Basically what I’m trying to say is that you’re gonna change music genres, just like moi *(me in French)*
Also, in a scene in the Tangled series, Rapunzel finds a carving on which is drawn the sun "dripping" and making the magic flower that healed her mother, but, next to the sun drawing, there is a MOON DRAWING, but one part is missing, so we can presume that it also made a flower which may have healed Elsa's mother upon birth. That would also explain Elsa's white hair, as Rapunzel's characteristic hair color was caused by the "sunflower". Disney is behind the Coronavirus. But hey, that’s just a theory. A film theory, aaaaaaaaaannd cut. Coming from a person who hates Disney’s greed and ruining star wars
This was my first Theory video I ever watched. In 2 weeks Matpat is retiring. It was a good run Matpat and I will always remember the years of theories ❤❤
Anna said that their parents told everybody they were heading south of Arendelle, so I like to think that they were using Rapunzel and Flynn's wedding as a cover story to make the timelines still work.
Hi, I know I’m literally 3 years late to this theory but here is some food for thought. For all the people in the comment section saying “But Elsa has ice powers and the flower came from the sun!” There is an explanation for that. Everyone knows that the sun is hotter in the outside and cooler in the inside. What if Rapunzel was the first born child and she absorbed the power of the sun, leaving Elsa the second born to absorb the coolness of the sun. This would explain the ice powers and the vibrant blond hair that Rapunzel has and the light blond hair Elsa has. To further support the healing powers without the sun everything would be dead which comes in contact that Elsa and Rapunzel Can revive people. I hope you enjoyed this. Bye!
Well there's still something else to consider, why didn't the king and queen of Corona ask for Elsa and take her back if she was truly their daughter why didn't they invite her back or tell her that she's their daughter who rapunzel came back to them? There's also something else to think about if rapunzel disappeared for years shouldn't the king and queen start considering looking for a new hier to the throne. In this situation the best thing to do would be to bring their daughter elsa back to Corona where she could rule after the king and queen, unless she isn't their daughter which would make her the heir to the throne of Arendelle.
@Jupiter You also have to consider that none of the parents have passed away yet. I’m sure that they would’ve started looking if one of the other passed away. If they both passed, obviously word would’ve gotten out and there must’ve been a doctor to give birth to the babies. The doctor then would’ve told someone to go search for Elsa, Elsa then could’ve been Queen if Rapunzel wasn’t found. If Rapunzel was found then it doesn’t matter much and Elsa would continue on with her life. :p
@@jupiter4318 UNLESS you think that: first Rapunzel was born, gothel captured her and Rapunzel went los for years. one or two years later (maybe three) the mom and dad of Rapunzel decide to have another daughter (Elsa) But then they get paranioc about Gothel returning, so they decide to sent Elsa far away from their kingdom. That's my theory
But when anna is freezing her hair turns a similar colour to elsa's so she probably has light hair because of her powers and (like rapunzel) actually is supposed to have brown hair.
Ahhh ok i hate to be "that" person but the reason is because when they were young Elsa hit her with her ice. Later on we were told that if Anna doesnt get a true loves kiss, her heart will be frozen along with her hair to show freezing. So sadly no Anna doesnt have light hair.
Exactly in frozen 2 it tells you that is how the parents died looking for the power source even thought it was form an act of kindness but no one noticed this was released before frozen 2
Hold up, didn’t the directors confirm they were going to a wedding, so what if they did get there but on their way back that’s when they started to look. Disney get your sh*t together dude, the directors confirmed that and out of nowhere they did Frozen 2, which throws away everything we know in Frozen 1. Bruh
Here's an extra theory for y'all: I think it would be a little strange if you found out your child was at risk of being kidnapped and just gave them away to strangers in a whole new country. I looked at Anna and Rapunzel's moms though, and I dare you to compare them and tell me they aren't sisters. Probably not twins, just sisters, but they look really similar. It would make a lot of sense if you gave your remaining magical twin to your sister, and not some stranger. That would also make Anna and Else cousins.
MatPat: *writes this theory* Disney: Oh frick!, he has figured it out, now i will make sure none of this is right Also Disney :May I present! Frozen 2! MatPat: Oh frick
More like. Disney: May I present Tangled: The Series. Which shall add a two year time period between Tangled the movie and Tangled Ever After. Making Rapunzel 23 when Frozen takes place. Not 21
I mean, even if this theory isn't true, they're at least very likely cousins, as back the often princesses married all over Europe. So it's very likely, that rapunzel's mother is adunar's sister 🙂
I agree with you that their cousins because they wouldn't just hand her over to someone random for reading or have a grandma and both mom learn how to control it but repunzals mom sister was scared kept herself aware of it wear it won't happen and that just a theory a film theory thank for reading
So would that mean that the queens should be sisters the only way that makes sense with elsa's powers of life and that would mean the queens shared twin life both getting pregnant at the same time and because of the flower elsa got powers too
That could be believed but then again Rapunsel (or however ya spell it)only had this “magic” due to the magic flower and there’s nothing to say Elsas mother went through something similar.
MatPat: flower gives elsa the opposite power moonstone: WHAT AM I A COCKROACH?! MatPat: how did elsa get powers? enchanted forest: lemme introduce myself
Something I just realized is that because of a misuse of Rapunzel's magic, she has a brown stripe in her blonde hair. Just like how when Elsa's messed up her magic, Anna got a blonde streak in her brown hair. Coincidence? Probably

@@cottonkandi3 The Little Mermaid and Aladdin had tv shows made by Disney that had at least some of the original voice actors, but as far as I know they aren't considered canon.
also to this theory, the tangled series (theres two but this goes for both) are confirmed as canon (under the main continuity). this means we see how even Rapunzel's life giving powers have an incredibly destructive side and potential to them. its kind of a cool contrast: Rapunzel starting out feeling trapped and being used but always seeing her power as useful and good, then becoming more free, then seeing how her powers can be dangerous, versus Elsa starting feeling more carefree, then growing up terrified and feeling like a threat, only seeing her powers as destructive and dangerous, then finding how amazing and useful her powers can be.
@@N1ght_377 In Tangled the series, there is this whole other side to her powers where she can do an anti incantation from the one from in the movie that destroys everything instead of healing it. She literally burned someone's arm off when she used it.

Maybe Elsa evolved her ice powers based on her surroundings, and Rapunzel (who stayed in the same kingdom as the flower) only got the base set? Just a hypothesis.
Ice powers can skip a generation on the mom's side with mom and Aunty Tangled not having Ice powers but Imprisoned and eventually killed Aunt having Ice powers Elsa is a Sorceress and could technically cast spells if she trained like her Aunt did
Razzy Raspberry I don't think it has anything to do with Anna being their biological daughter. If Anna had the same destructive powers, they would have locked her up too.
Nahh, they were just too overprotective of Elsa's sake and others. If being strict = not close then you are wrong. They are strict with Elsa because, who wouldn't? Elsa would become the heir to the throne and if she isn't responsible enough she might make mistakes that will cause the downfall of their kingdom. Anna wouldn't be much of a problem considering her sister is the heir to the throne and not her, that's why the parents are less strict.
4:41 you’re wrong about that growing out hair tho. Once the magic hair is cut, it doesn’t grow back. That’s also why so many are mad at Eugene for cutting it SO short. That’s also why that one brown strand from the beginning never grows back. Rapunzel even states that in the movie.
You know, their powers also seem to be emotionally based. Elsa's is very dependent on her emotions. Constantly changing with her emotions. Yeah, Rapunzel has to sing to activate her powers, but its always in a moment of adrenaline. When she was really excited, scared, or sad (at the end with the tear). That's when he hair glowed. Just something I noticed and i wanted to say.

And cut

After watching both Frozen II and your theory, I'm convinced that the Frozen production team took a good look at this video and made "Frozen II" to prove you wrong and rub it in your face, MatPat.
Honestly, how do you go from ''going to a wedding'' to "let's find out why our daughter (?) has magic powers"?
This theory is the sequel that would have made more money than the Frozen franchise. Seriously Disney, make some connections in your movies and suddenly you're drowning in the cash.

Bye!
Cookie pai wow thanks!!
Taffy Pug: Awwww thanks! :3
@Jupiter
You also have to consider that none of the parents have passed away yet.

Your smart I agree :)
Ahhh ok i hate to be "that" person but the reason is because when they were young Elsa hit her with her ice. Later on we were told that if Anna doesnt get a true loves kiss, her heart will be frozen along with her hair to show freezing. So sadly no Anna doesnt have light hair.

Matpat: "They were sailing for a wedding"
Frozen 2: "Sorry, no."
Here's an extra theory for y'all:
I think it would be a little strange if you found out your child was at risk of being kidnapped and just gave them away to strangers in a whole new country.

So would that mean that the queens should be sisters the only way that makes sense with elsa's powers of life and that would mean the queens shared twin life both getting pregnant at the same time and because of the flower elsa got powers too

also to this theory, the tangled series (theres two but this goes for both) are confirmed as canon (under the main continuity). this means we see how even Rapunzel's life giving powers have an incredibly destructive side and potential to them. its kind of a cool contrast: Rapunzel starting out feeling trapped and being used but always seeing her power as useful and good, then becoming more free, then seeing how her powers can be dangerous, versus Elsa starting feeling more carefree, then growing up terrified and feeling like a threat, only seeing her powers as destructive and dangerous, then finding how amazing and useful her powers can be.

They don't
Cause she has powers duh!
Razzy Raspberry same but I just thought they heated her like my parents hate me
4:41 you’re wrong about that growing out hair tho.
