Excellent! The community needs more duet reprap how to videos, so happy to see this, ill watch when I get home.
Great! Thank you
Chris can you do an idiots guide to tuning stealthchop, spreadcycle, cool step and stall guard? 2209’s would be good.
Yes! Please more videos for advanced RepRap setup and tuning!!
Will do!
I cannot thank you enough for this video. Especially the acceleration, jerk, speed setting edits in the config file towards the end of the video. I just switched to RRF from marlin and had been really disappointed with the print results and the lack of clear, straightforward guides. I still have some tweaking to do but WOW the improvement in my print quality after following this video is enormous. Thanks so much!! I’ll also echo the requests for more RRF video guides. Compared to Marin it’s not as easy to find info, especially on UA-cam, and the official documentation is not as beginner-friendly as marlin.
Awesome to hear Doug, a lot more RRF stuff to come.
The best rep-rap blogger on UA-cam! More videos about RRF needed:)
Wow, thank you!
Excellent info as always Chris.
Thanks!
Great vid Chris. Thanks for the information. Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Hee Chris...again one with excelent info! Great man!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Absolutely excellent video. Very much appreciated. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Please more of this kinds of videos about reprep firmware 🙏🏽
Will do!
Oh my god!! So much Pressure! in Advance! ;)
I know, right?
Llama drama 🤡
excellent explanation,.. can't wait to try this out on my Flsun QQ-S pro with duet3d and reprap.. once my bowden tube gets connected properly back on. and in a few weeks Ill try direct drive aswell.. with carbon fiber rods that shaves off 150grams from the total rod weight.
Great! Good luck with your projects!
This really really saved my prints!!
Great, Thanks for watching!
Very useful information! Thanks for opening our eyes!! Keep up the good work.👌👌
Thanks for watching.
@@ChrisRiley I really like your content. .
@@Sega-and-Mao TY!
I've watched a couple of your videos of the past, that you printed a rc formula. I did not expect you like rc's and that was a pleasant surprise. You can watch this if you like, and maybe built it when I'm finished with updating the parts to the latest version I've come up with. I'll be sending you the parts you may need for the built and must be machined, for free. It's sure a fun built and the latest version rolls amazingly!

@@Sega-and-Mao I love RC and that is a really cool looking build. Thank you for your offer but unfortunately, I don't get a lot of time for other projects outside of 3D printing. So I am afraid I will never get around to working on it.
Good stuff...love to see a video on Marlin's S Curve.
Noted!
Rip Rap I can't unhear it... Thanks for the info though... good video.
Thanks.
I was about to post the same. Got something else stuck in his head I guess.
Great informative video
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
nice work!
Thanks!
amazing!
Thanks!

Bowden: I went from 4mm down to 1.35mm using the cousin, linear advance.
Direct (titan): I started w/ P. A. enabled and went down to 0.35mm.
I am going to try some tighter tube and see if I can get it down lower on the longer runs.

I have PA values in my filament custom gcode for each color/brand/type as they are different even w/in types.
That's how ya do it!
I will be interested to try this out when I change over one of my printers to Duet board and Reprap firmware. I haven’t had a lot of success with Marlin LA on my Hemera’s. The values are so low it’s hardly worth it, I can normally get better results with just slicer tweaks.
Let us know how it goes. Thanks for watching
I was immediately impressed by the new Marlin and linear advance when I switched my E5 over to the BTT SKR MiniE3 v1.2, so much so that I immediately ordered 2 more for some Ender style printers. Nice adaptation for RepRap. Would it also be similar for Klipper? I only ask because I'm in the middle of a Voron build and not sure if I'm going to use Klipper or RepRap.
Hey Kevin, great question, I am not sure how Klipper does it yet, but I am guessing the calibration would be very similar.
Pretty cool. I'm still learning linear advance in Marlin. If I enable it in the firmware but do not call a K value in the gcode, does it ignore LA?
If you enable it in firmware, but leave it defaulted to 0, then yes, it ignores it until you send it a M900.
@@ChrisRiley right on!
My perimeter beginns in the corner so I set it rear but it prints in the rear corner.
You're talking about the test prints in the corner? If so, you should be able to alter the gcode generator to compensate.
great video as always. do you think RepRap will work with the MMU2?
I don't think there is any support for it planned.
Hello Chris. Thank you for your video. Can you make video with connection & settings 3Dtouch +rrf. Wiki from RepRap is bad minimum information
This should help some, I will work it into a future video. ua-cam.com/video/zJ1Rtikn2AA/v-deo.html
Hello Chris I just wanted to see if you could help me with a problem I’m having, I recently updated my duet to 3.1.1 firmware however it now doesn’t show any connection between my controls and the duet motherboard, not even the leds turn on on command please help me !
You might have to reset and start over. Try the reset process. ua-cam.com/video/UPu7_RPE1d0/v-deo.html
I’ll try it thank you very much !!
Great Information. Are you planning a Vidjayo about M593? :)
That one is very interesting and I have done some testing with it. I will see what I can do for a video.
The bowden flex is the main problem, I have a suuuper stiff bowden ~450mm long and are running 1/3 of everybody else.. sort of.. it would be interesting to test it on your tool changer..
Send over a link to the tube you use if you don't mind. I want to try and get some.
@@ChrisRiley I sent a mail..
I dont know how i feel about watching these videos, if i get an itch to start testing this and diving in im afraid what may happen to my farm LOL ! JK JK Great video thank sir !
Lol, thanks for watching
Interesting that I can't find a lot of videos about the noise LA makes for bowden (40mm), I'm trying to set it up for many hours, retraction from 1 to 6, E_JERK from 5 to 50, accelaration from 500 to 4000, combining them with LIN_ADV 0.05 to 0.2 and my extruder screams like hell, the sound of that is like scratching your brain with a fork, it can't be described how annoying it makes.
There are some hidden reddit posts and others, maybe it is because I'm using a bmg geared extruder with 3:1 gear ratio.
Did anybody do a setup like that?
- ender 3 pro
- bmg (clone) extuder
- dragonfly bms all metal hotend
- capricorn tube
- pla
I can only do a complete test if I leave the house because it makes my nerves go crazy.
I have had that same issue on the BMG style bowden setups. It's really hard to find a number that helps, without all the noise. LA just doesn't work well in this case.
@@ChrisRiley yeah it seems like that, I'll probably convert my setup to direct drive because I don't have a high speed anyways on my ender 3 and we'll see.
i have anyquibic predator Delta printer and i did this and the best i got was at 0 and my M556 is M566 X1200.00 Y1200.00 Z1200.00 E1200.00 what am i doing wrong ? i have the M92 X160.00 Y160.00 Z160.00 E838.08 with extruder BMG
Is the bowden tube really long? Does the extruder show that it is trying to compensate? It might just not be able to keep up.
@@ChrisRiley the tube is 30 cm
@@EnergySeeker That should be fine, run a m572 during the print. Make sure the settings isn't being overwritten.
@@ChrisRiley when i do M572 i get M572 0.000
@@EnergySeeker That's your problem. Run a M572 D0 S1.0 before/during your print.
Hi, do you know if it works on stealthchop2?
I use it with Stealthchop, yes.
wow this will revolutionize mechanical interfaces printing, I hate the corner and seam bulges
It works well it you get it tweaked just right.
Which is best, RepRap or Klipper?
RepRap has a lot of nice features, but for going fast on 8bit Klipper is where it is at.
is this guide valid for rrf 2?
Yes, it works the same.
