Internet porn killed playboy magazine
i dont think they'd put this on the list because of explicity but you are right
lol
+MQ BM Explicit? Really? Did you not watch watchmojo's top 5 sex positions or something along those lines?
More like, Instagram killed playboy, maxim, fhm, etc.
Ha!
The only actual use for internet explorer is installing a better browser.
microsoft edge (updated internet explorer) is prob the best browser out there, But I dont like the ui interface. Its too big.
Not right now...it has no app support. It is pretty quick, but without apps it cannot be close to the best.
+Mitchblue Or the first program people delete when getting a PC, I know I do.
I didn't use internet explorer for that
I use Microsoft edge and it comes with windows 10
william smith that actually is true
i think every smartphone killed the blackberry
Blackberry and Nokia are still in the market but are overshadowed by Apple and Samsung
nokia will rise with a heav duty frame
@Mike M Apple is still the third biggest smartphone manufacturer by volume. Sales are declining but it is predicted that the 2020 iPhone is going to significantly boost sales.
@Mike M nah iphone seems to thrive lately.
Katia Tannus XD
Blockbuster: 8 dollars for a movie
Netflix: 10 dollars a month for 1000 movies
Remember the Blockbuster video rental machines? There was one at my local grocery store in the 2010. It was cool actually.
I have like 15 blockbuster games I never returned
Your late fees are going to be through the roof when you return them, I hope you at least remembered to rewind those VHS tapes.
+Lydomina Lol, you can't rewind games
+ThatSN95Gerrl I know, I was implying that he kept videos as well, that's why I said VHS tapes.
+Lydomina Lol, ok i still have some blockbuster vhs tapes too
+ThatSN95Gerrl It's crazy how much space they take up compared to DVDs and BRDs.
I think #1 should have been
Cars
Killed: horse carriages
+Tevin Jackson actually the streetcar killed the carriages, because no one needed to use horses when you can take the tram, then later, the cars killed the tram..
+Juan Carlos Barbosa But the horse and carriage are still around today used by the amish.
+Juan Carlos Barbosa stfu you nerd. There's always a someone like you that post on a funny comment... Nobody likes a smartass
+Tevin Jackson Good one
really original dude 5 ☆4 u
Dead body killed Logan Paul's career
Who? Wha ?
How Ironic.
Jorge Gutiérrez XD
A person who got killed killed somebody. Well well well how the turntables
"Are you keeping up with the Commodore, cause the Commodore is keeping up with you!"
The whole Netflix killed Blockbuster thing actually depresses me. I used to love going to Blockbuster to pick out movies with all my girlfriends and then getting candy and popcorn at the front. It's always going to be one of my favorite memories.
fr
Yee
+Commie Thor64 I love the "all my girlfriends" comment xD
Down here, we have something called the Pick-A-Flick. It's basically a Blockbuster, but older.
I loved going there with my brother and getting movies to watch with our family, such great memories! we do now have netflix, but I will never forget those memories of going to blockbuster
Video killed the radio star
lol nope
Dafuq
+debisib
Video killed the Radio star.
Say hi to Daria for me.
And UA-cam killed the tv star :'D
+debisib fuck what song is what......fuck me
Radio by yelawolf?
There are three reasons the PS2 outsold the Dreamcast, and they aren't mentioned in the video:
1) Backwards compatibility with the PlayStation. A huge library of popular games to offset the (quite frankly pathetic launch library) was a driving force of the PS2.
2) DVD. The PS2 was a video game machine that could play DVDs, and cost around $300 when most standalone DVD players cost over $200.
3) Timing. The PS2's price, features, and release date were announced just before the Dreamcast launched, killing any momentum Sega's system had.
Now, I loved the Dreamcast, but the only way that the system could have competed with Sony was to get ahead of them with online gaming, but the true online capability of the Dreamcast wasn't ready for consumers until the PS2 had already launched, assuring Sega's eclipse from the hardware market.
And the fact that it could be turned into a PC.
I bought DVD player that was also a VCR for less than $50. Only early on were DVD players over $200.
You also forgot the fact that sega pretty much had its reputation gone down the toilet. Because of years of messing up, Sega is no longer being taken seriously
@@apple_m2_delight In my experience, working at a game store at that time, that never really entered the conversation; the Dreamcast at its release was so far ahead of everything else on the market (the original PlayStation and the N64) that you only really had to see it to be impressed. Even after the PS2 launched my boss would showcase some Dreamcast games that would make skeptics into believers. A great example was the Dreamcast exclusive "NFL2K" series, which was superior to PlayStation/PS2 "Madden" series in every conceivable way.
For my "on the floor" experience, the DVD player inclusion drove more new PlayStation customers while the promise of PSone backwards compatibility (a mind-blowing concept among console games of the time) kept old PlayStation fans coming back rather than the PS2's pathetic starting lineup of games.
@@hydrolito Yes, early on when the PlayStation 2 launched. Please pay attention.
who remembers going to Blockbuster every week
I do bro. It was awesome renting my favorite games, shows and movies.
Yes yes yes Friday night
Close to where I lived there were many Show Time videos and they closed up faster than Block Buster.
Despite closing years ago, the space that was used for a Blockbuster went unused for a long time and so the door still had the blockbuster colors for years after :P
I went to a closing down sale and spent over £200 in DVD's, games and consoles but yeah I do miss going and renting out the latest movies 😢
You missed the most important part of Netflix killing Blockbuster. In 2000, Blockbuster CEO John Antioco was asked for $50 million to buy Netflix.
Antioco, thinking that it was a "very small niche business," ended the negotiations and didn't buy Netflix.
Today Netflix is worth over $30 billion.
Can't believe that you mentioned that Netflix killed Blockbuster without saying that Blockbuster refused to buy out Netflix in more than one ocassion
When you think about it blockbuster is like killing itself and refused to take a life saving medicine
IKR
+Arceus Ketchum Like a Jehovah's Witness refusing a blood transfusion.
@@sabresman31 Or a conservative refusing to wear a mask during a pandemic.
Best Buy killed Circuit City
bigcray08 Amazon is now killing Best Buy
Fully agreed
and radio shack
and Sears
But somehow best buy survived
I have a blockbuster movie I haven't returned in over 7 years Lmao
Internet explorer killed Netscape then Crome killed internet explorer
+sgtpepper4131 Then Internet Explorers corpse got a new suit.
+Wesley Seibert I think he is talking about IE: edge. It was bundled with win 10.
+sgtpepper4131 Internet Explorer killed Netscape then Google Chrome Killed Internet Explorer Then in like 2020 Microsoft Edge Is Going To Kill Chrome :3
Dave Zoll This guy gets it!
+sgtpepper4131 Firefox kills them all. If you were using firefox, you could enjoy UA-cam with absolutely NO ADS. You just install the FREE addon called adblock plus. Best browser ever. You could also install the free addon called video download helper... which lets you download video from any site you're on. I use it to download videos from UA-cam or porn videos from porn tube sites.
And now Chrome is slaughtering Internet Explorer. Chrome Browser Master Race.
+Scott Velez I love chrome and i'm using it right now but you have to admit it is a bit of a RAM hogger compared to other browsers.
Chrome peasant. Firefox ftw
Its good for Flash . Safari sometimes gives me compatibility issues, and longer load times with certain websites, mainly UA-cam.
+Scott Velez yeah i agree chrome and firefox killed internet explorer
Internet Explorer is already dead. Microsoft Edge is such a great browser that even a huge Google fan such as myself switched from Chrome to Edge.
Everyone; "I miss Blockbuster so much"
Everyone; *loads up Netflix*
Facts people are way too nostalgic about it these days, just let it go
Me: *Loads up Hulu*
Hydrox sounds like a poisonous chemical
Clorox
Or a little-known marsupial.
Sounds like a villain name.
Want some Hydrox cookies or Oreo cookies? Yeah one sounds way better haha
Lol what were they thinking
youtube is killing TV
+Gijs de cock true, but it's just a darwinian affair, if you cannot be competitive you're doomed to fall
True. I think one of the main reasons why youtube is better than tv is because of the social aspect.
+Jackgamer190 And fewer commercials!.
+EternalSanity_ same, I watched kid cartoons all the time before school. I watch UA-cam now... after years and years...
TV is killing itself with shit shows
Netflix and no chill when it came to killing Blockbuster
Lmao +1 to you good sir.
I'm starting to miss Blockbuster
Blockbuster deserved to go out of business. Their rental service were expensive. $5 to rent a new movie for 1 day where Hollywood Video was $5 for 2 days for renting new release videos.
+Eric Avila Netflix hasn't completed Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It really is nothing but overhyped trashed.
+danny dircio Umm Blockbuster NEVER had porn EVER. Maybe a HBO show or Cinemax show that had sex scene, but Blockbuster it self never had harcore porn EVER.
Congratulations WatchMojo! Now I have "ARE YOU KEEPING UP WITH THE COMMODORE? CAUSE THE COMMODORE'S KEEPING UP WITH YOU!" stuck in my head
blockbuster :( I remember when they had one in my town in London, it closed but the one in the next town which was much smaller stayed open till the last minute, will never forget Blockbuster. I still have my membership card for some reason.
Hydrox sounds like a cleaning product
IKR
that's what I was thinking!!
I dont want my Oreo injected with Hydrox

omg I forgot to return 2 dvds I still have from blockbuster
Hahaha worry pal finder keeper lose wipes because blockbuster out business .
pay the late fees and ressurect this sleeping Juggernaut
Think of the late charge! 😂
3 lashes with a wet noodle FOR YOU
BLOCKBUSTER could have survived by turnig into a netflix like website themselves
Nu'blessed they suffered a severe case of “we have always done it this way” syndrome!
Becoming a video game rental service. That would have saved the company
They did, but when Netflix shipped out their billionth DVD in the early 2000s, they decided to end that subsidiary entirely
As the person who posted before me said, I believe Blockbuster did in fact try to make a similar service before they gave up the ghost. I don't recall the name of the service, but I believe it was something along the lines of Blockbuster sending you three DVDs in the mail, which you would mail back at your leisure in prepaid sleeves, and then they would send you the next three on your list that you would create online.
To be completely honest, basically any company that is currently somewhat successfull in making phones destroyed BlackBerry. BlackBerry just couldn´t keep up with the technology and their products quickly became outdated.
they just released a new and possibly final phone
Yes, but the inability to step up their game cost BlackBerry a lot, while the followers have adapted to the market, BlackBerry was doing their own think, targeting too small range of customers, then ultimately being left behind. I might not have BlackBerry myself, but I have a friend who has one, and I seriously would never want a change from my quite cheap Android phone. And trust me, I write a lot. By the way, I also hate Apple.
It's not that they couldn't keep up. It's the fact that Blackberry refused to step away from their principles. Blackberry was seen as a business phone and they targeted business people so when the iPhone came out and more and more phones were moving to touch screens Blackberry thought they had nothing to worry about because they thought they would always have their target consumer. They stayed with their "all business" model and phones these days are more so a source of entertainment (even more than a form of communication) and you're not going to be entertained by a blackberry.
Lol my ps vita is better than blackberry! I didn't know what blackberry was until my mom lit hers on fire and screamed blackberry sucks I'm getting a Samsung! Then I screamed Samsung sucks I'm going to use my iPhone! Lol I'm crazy
+many radom things so true !!!!
i miss going to Blockbuster as a kid. gettig a video game with a friend then trying to beat it all within one weekend. the best times
Agreed!! Good times!
+Alex B I've never used netflix, i like going outside and rent movies.
+Liam Yeah, so much more intresting and creates better memories then: "Oh, I just watched a movie."
+Alex B yessss ikr.
beat your friend up?
The fact that these items died doesn't surprise me, I haven't heard of over half of them.
CDs and DVDs killed cassette tapes and VHS Tapes. MUSIC :: cassette tapes to CDs. MOVIES :: VHS Tapes to DVDs.
awww youre so young.... vinyl and 8-tracks existed before cassettes, and now mp3's killed cd's anyway
And now Vinyl killed CDs.
** And Streaming Services (Netflix & Spotify ect) KILLED ALL of them! (Mp3/CD/DvD ect)
And Blu-ray killed DVDs
@@JanowiczJason cassettes where made back in the 1960s....."young"....you sure are a Douche bag ;)
I still have a GameCube game that I rented from Blockbusters 9 years ago 😂
+Daniel A. I still have a nintendo 64 game i rented in '99. Too late to give it back now >=D
Same. It was Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness
i used to rent original xbox games ,rip them to my modded xbox and then take them back, ive STILL got that xbox with over 200 games installed!! thanks blockbuster! lol
+Daniel A. i rember renting beatles rock band
+Daniel A. haha nice. blockbuster was losing so bad too netflix they straight up let me keep several of these dragonball z VHS artwork boxset. lol
even though Netflix killed blockbuster it still can't beat the feeling of going to blockbuster on the weekends and getting snacks and drinks.. Blockbuster wasn't just movie rentals, it was an experience.. something kids these days won't understand
Block Buster wasn't the only video rental store. I used to go to a Mexican version of Blockbuster.
I may have been born in the 2000's but I sure as hell loved it when me and my family would go to blockbuster.
Jose Sarmiento Netflix and chill, please, back in the 90's and early 2000's it there was something called a Blockbuster date night where you take your girl to the store, browse around a bit, rent a movie, buy some popcorn and drinks, have a romantic night at home and then return the video in the morning while she rested and had breakfast ready when you got back, now that's an actual date.
Which one sounds better. Netflix and chill or Blockbuster and chill.
Jose Sarmiento Spot on my man. My wife and I would go here when we were dating. Years before that, my brother and I would go to BB all the time to rent video games. Great times. I wish my son could enjoy that experience.
DVDs killed VHS Tapes
Blu-Rays Killed DVDs
And in my opinion MySpace looks waaay better than Facebook
Myspace was sold for a profit so the original owners were successful you can blame the purchaser for what happened after that.
@@hydrolito Given it was News Corp... yeah...
Facebook sucks
Internet killing time...
My top 3 kills in general:
1. USB Flashdrive killed Floppy disks
2. Smartphones killed Flip phones
3. Social Media killed Real Life Interactions
+Fate Nightroad Number 3 is very true, most people would rather talk on their phones and computers than acualy face to face.
Dragonk116
I think it's mainly because technology made everything more convenient for us to just talk through our electronic devices instead. Some of the people I know even took it a level further and use texting exclusively over speaking.
+Fate Nightroad My Top 5 Kills:1.Social Media killed PEOPLE,and effected peoples personality.2.The Weather Channel Killed AccuWeather. #3,Google killed Opera.4.The Internet Killed First,People,People's Manners.5.Macs killed Dell's Laptops.
StavrosKilledSteve
"My top 3 kills *in general*:"
Another interpretation is that, real Life interactions WAS a product of our boldness.
+Fate Nightroad There is no way in hell that you know people who don't speak at all and only text
Here is some you missed Mojo:
DVD killed VHS
Internet killed the Newspaper
CD's killed Cassettes
CD's killed Floppy Discs
Computer killed the Typewriter
+SW1EmpireAtWar And video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star
CDs killed floppy dicks
blu ray killed hd dvd
Those are formats for products not actual products.
Current Internet killed Dial up internet.
WiFi killed Dial up internet
What about WWE/WWF killed WCW???????? that was a Hugh war between those two big wrestling companies in late 1990s.
Funny how Medal of honor would probably be gaining popularity right now if they stuck with WW2 shooters, I mean everyone is complaining about all the BS futuristic games, MoH can come back with a bang if they released a good WW2 game right now.
this is now. were talking then. back on the ps2 when BOTH games were ww2. i experienced it. i love medal of honor rising sun, but call of duty tore medal of honor a new asshole and then some. medal of honor tried to come back a few years ago and was swiftly shut down. its sad because rising sun was fantastic. i miss it.
+Jack The ripper I played the first MOH so much, that D-Day level was straight out of Saving Private Ryan at the time. Then COD came around and EA pulled their shit and didn't actually compete. Let's not forget at the time this was happening people were incredibly tired of WW2 games, now it's flipped. Though personally I want a good roman-era game without monsters and/or gods and shit. That's unmarked territory still.
+Matt Josh Warfighter was horrible, but Airborne and Frontline were absolutely amazing.
+Kzero Umm...Frontline wasn't the first MOH game.
Fragonborn Entertainment I had forgotten the few beforehand, first one I played was Frontline.
Screw Netflix, I really miss going to blockbuster on a Saturday night and picking up the latest blu ray..
+bowser515 Those were the days, not even that long ago.
I know 😩 dunno why but made me feel good going in there
I work at a family video. We have almost 800 stores still. Netflix doesn't have shit on us.
+bowser515 rip in pepperonis Blockbuster.
+Rat Face Keep it real bro
Rip blockbuster I still love you. :(
Amazon killed retail shopping dead. The Internet killed print publishing.
netflix just killed blockbuster in Usa , in other country`s blockbuster was dead for a long time
+imAG Blockbuster never died here on Brazil
Or uk
+Fernanda Pissurno What? There's barely any blockbuster's or local rental stores on bigger capitals, like São Paulo and Rio. Netflix killed rental stores here on Brazil too, it will just take a while for smaller cities to catch up.
+Nero Augustus That, and until Netflix can reach further there.
But Netflix is an American company so technically, Netflix won in the U.S in 1997
Netflix/Blockbuster should have been number 1. Blockbuster dominated the industry and Netflix put them out of business. The iPhone def killed competitors, but the real innovation came when they built the iPod and destroyed CD's and mp3 players. That was groundbreaking at the time.
jravens1313 yes but it was about iPhone killing blackberry. Blackberry is now out of business but there is still a lot of MP3 companies
I don't think CD's are desproyed and neither are mp3 players. While the iPod was probably the best player they were both, while not destroyed, rather stinted by smartphones.
eww Iphone
Did they really put them out of business alone? I feel like netflix would mostly take away from the number of people watching cable television. I think redbox and gamefly along with netflix might have collectively put them out of business, but I could be wrong. From a personal standpoint I don't think anyone of these three products on their own are a suitable replacement for everything blockbuster had to offer, but together they made blockbuster irrelevant.
slimjimmy iphone didnt kill androids for sure but cheaper products killed both icrap and samsheep
Memes killed comics.
and you jim ross didnt say wwf taking over wcw bah gawd how could you lie to us
jk
that commodore song got stuck in my head and Im like singing it the whole day after watching this.
Smart phones killed flip phones
To be honest I still like flip phone .it looks better
Proud to say I stil have and use mine. Works wonderfully!
In Ireland we have Xtra Vision instead of blockbuster, well had
+MLG Panda I remember renting Worms for the Sega Megadrive from Xtra Visions back when I was a wee lad in the old country.
Signed,

+MLG Panda Xtra Vision in Ireland changed to hmv I think but the one I live close to close a while a go
+WatchMojo.com are you saying you used to live in ireland?
we still have xtra vision
+Josh Gaule i dont m8
Ironically Blockbuster had a chance to buy out Netflix but didn’t.
seems like they think buying competitors is unfair
Android and iOS killed original Nokia
Symbian... Nokia still exists
@@ZaCaptain1229 They said it technically doesn't have to be dead, just overtaken.
They make phones under android
J Kuebler they released a new phone with Android
Uh, I don't think even a Nuclear Explosion could kill/destroy an old Nokia... ◉_◉
Blackberry killed itself. Apple didn't have to do anything.
apple tears everything to pieces
+Elias Schmidt Idk LG and samsung can put up a fight
+WOLF yeah they're pretty good
+Jordan Schmidt
They don't have a lot of storage,
Quacy Moore yeah and some have expandable storage, which is very nice. Wish Apple would do that but they're greedy.
In the case of Commodore V IBM I think of IBM as business computers and I think of Commodore as beginners home computing. I was a teenager back in the mid 80s and I had a Commodore 64.
We all experienced that Netflix moment where the one movie you want to watch isn't on there.
Silent hill is not there what the fuck
Netflix doesn't even try to be good only with a limited list of movies
What I find to be an interesting omission (and I doubt if I'm the first one to comment on this) is how the mp3 digitally compressed downloadable music file pretty much destroyed music retailers like Tower Records. There's an entire generation of kids, today, in their mid to late teens, the majority of whom have never walked into a music store, in their lives, and purchased a piece of recorded music on a physical format of any kind. When you lose the kids, well, that's a record store's target demographic and core market.
i prefer getting on spotify and listening to the music of my choice if im feeling nostalgic i will listen to the 90s music
I miss the old record stores. I'm 53 and used to love browsing through them, looking at the album covers and such. CD's kind of killed the vinyl records and the record stores adapted, but I agree that digital has pretty much killed the record stores. I miss the liner notes and album art.
Blockbuster will ALWAYS be the BEST rental movie place. Forever in our hearts.
R.I.P Blockbuster ;(
i just go to the public library to rent movies for free with my library card lol
sniperassasin lol same :D

The only significant Killers I think today are Netflix, And Uber.
When you want movies, to watch at home, where you gonna go ? Blockbuster
Umm guns killed swords I think that's gotta be the biggest one right?
Uber killed taxis for sure
Callum Lasslett got emm
Callum Lasslett Guns killed swords.
Google user on the Internet sanctions killed guns
havent seen a yellow cab in ages!
then you certainly don't live in NYC where yellow taxis are used much more than Uber
Finebros killed Finebros
HAHAHA
The finebros are fine now tbh, pretty sure they are gaining subs. yeah there's the occasional joke about them but I mean even the hardcore haters are starting to realized they really shouldn't care that much. One thing is there are still a lot of people disliking there videos but it's kinda cool to see how each video gets less and less dislikes. They probably gained money all in all because of the people who come to dislike the video. :p
+Danny Robins I know it's actually really funny because they made way too big a deal about it in the first place!
w
they look weird in the face
Battlefield decapitated COD. Well sort of. More like COD committed suicide...
It's funny because IW has about 2k active players everyday. Pretty obvious IW was bought just for MWR.
What about that time when video killed the radio star?
Hydrox sounded like something that would kill you.
+Oberyn Martell It sounds like cleaning chemicals
zdoster That's my point. A product that is suppose to be consumed sounds like a cleaning product, and last I checked we don't consume cleaning products. Well, you can but it will likely kill you.
Oberyn Martell I was agreeing with you
+Oberyn Martell Sounds like something that sucks up moisture
No hydrox sounds like a drug your dad makes in his basement to get your friends high
More accurately, the smartphone camera killed the "point and shoot" camera, not DSLRs.
Yeah agree, should be smartphone killed Kodak. Canon and Nikon are still better than smartphone cameras
+Jerry Liu They're talking about sales here though. Canon and Nikon still make point-and-shoot cameras, but more people use their smartphones than those.
I know. Imagine the state the world would be in if news programmes or professional photographers used 8MP smartphone cameras!
+Clint Bandura
True. Smartphones do not have high-end cameras in terms of quality. They have decent cameras for easy access and everyday use as a personal cam. Quality cameras are still being used for things such as actual photography based field jobs and anything deemed professional.
+Connor Doogan I work in the industry and I bet you people outside of it wouldn't notice much.
Watching this 6 years later and no. 5 for the web browser makes me kinda chuckle
Unfortunately, both Netscape and Internet Explorer are now killed. We’ll miss you.
Blockbuster actually had the opportunity to buy netflix in its early days, and they declined thinking internet streaming would never take off
+Admiral_Awesome They could even make a website with the blockbuster name, a Netflix like website and with the brand they built for years they could've killed netflix, but they were so freaking blind, a big lack of vision from the CEO and shareholders.
+Manu Romero they did. It was so bad you didn't hear of it.
AmaranteStryfe Well that explains it
+Admiral_Awesome R.I.P Blockbuster... it's now in a better Place up in Heaven above!
Smartphones have not killed digital cameras, they just have less of a marketshare. GoPros and other action cams are growing, still a solid DSLR market.
I think they're talking about pocket cameras, not about action or DSLR cams. That''s a different market.
I agree. I don't think digital cameras would go away completely. Smartphones, at least for its current state, cannot be used to film really good quality pictures or videos. No professional photographers or videographers would use a smartphones in their business.
My favorite is Starbucks VS Seattle Best Coffee ( SBC ). After years of rivalry in the 90's they got into a dispute about a certain coffee stand in down town Seattle that had the highest traffic... SBC had the lease but as soon as Starbucks found out they started to offer money to the landowner, in the end Starbucks just bought SBC ending the rivalry and determining who got the prime store ( which turned into a Starbucks ) while SBC phased out and I think now you can only get it at Safeway's and McDonalds. True story, the prime coffee stand I am talking about is located at Westlake Center in down town Seattle
Smatphones didn't kill digital cameras. Granted, they're a lot less popular nowadays, but there's still a surprisingly solid demand for them. I work in the electronics section in a department store and still sell a lot more digital cameras than one would expect. Killing implies that digital cameras are completely gone outside of small niche markets. The only thing I've really seen die out regarding digital cameras are the accessories for them, such as carrying cases and such.
Redbox is the new blockbuster
yea that's what I thought it was gonna be
+Bryce Cameron Seriously? I don't "get" Redbox.
+Dirty Water You can get new releases a lot faster on Redbox than you can on Netflix. So it is truly the "heir" to the throne once occupied by Blockbuster.
Rich Brown If I don't have to run to a Kiosk, I would be ok with it - I haven't checked out if it has an online rental system.
Dirty Water don't misunderstand me. I'm much more a fan of Netflix and Amazon Prime than I am of Redbox. Seems like half the time when I get a Redbox disc, it's scratched and skips over the most inopportune parts. Streaming media is still far superior to discs. I'm just saying that for right now, Redbox has probably taken more of those people who once visited Blockbuster as their customers.
SEGA really killed itself, Sony's PS2 just carried the corpse to it's grave
+Sjono true
and Microsoft and Nintendo raped it's corpse.
Bro that anology.
Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's ps4 have guns pointed at each other's heads. I got a ps4
I think its funny how PC took a different route in gaming history, but now its came back to defeat all competition
Blockbuster was a great company; however, they were’t quick enough to establish an online presence.
What about video killing the radio star? Lol that song popped into my head during this video.
I still use hotmail as my main email. EAT THAT GOOGLE!
*****
No I'm not... why would I be using one now?
+Midsomnyx Isn't youtube linked to your Gmail?
Todd Perronne
It links to your gmail if you *have* one, but I never activated a gmail account, I just signed up with my hotmail.
Midsomnyx Oh thanks for the info I had no clue :D
+Todd Perronne its link to google plus so he is using google right now.
bluray killed HD-DVD
+Epic Gaming TV This one was huge. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned. Like how VHS killed Beta Max.
Seriously? I've never bought a blu-ray and neither has most people.
Yes Seriously. next time you are some where that sells movies look at how many blurays are for sale and compare them to how many HD-DVDs are for sale.
+motts2roc Yep, also, PlayStation (three and four) use BluRay discs.
Forgot about this one. Probably didn't into the top 10 due to not having that major of an effect compared to say Facebook killing MySpace
I miss MySpace so freaking much I had my page for almost 15 years never as mainstream as facebook is now MySpace was Awsome

How is it that you never thought to play Video Killed the Radio Star? Come on. This video was BEGGING for it.
+Juxtavarious Only now it's the Internet (and Netflix) that's killing the video star.
Modifying maybe. But there's plenty of internet video stars.
+Juxtavarious what's a radio star? I don't really care enough to google it.
Like, duh, it's talking about people who once were famous on radio back when it was the only mass-consumable medium the people ever had. Back when serial programs, the predecessor of today's dramatic audio presentations, used to be broadcast over the radio.
It's the title of a song
There's still one video rental store where I live, but it's also a bar now, so... it found a way!
Great list👌🏿

call of duty killed itself
Spotify killed Pandora. Fact.
No one cares. Fact.
+Vardan Shahgaldyan shhhhhhhh Spotify cares
Yes, although most people I know still use Pandora but I prefer Spotify
+Sam Jimenez Spotify costs money while Pandora nicely lets me listen for free, poor people can withstand a few adds for music
+kenny shuman spotify doesn't cost a thing. It just runs adds and has better options for listening than pandora
Ah, the 90s. The good ole days on friday/saturday going to blockbuster for movie night. Miss those times
Blockbuster and Hollywood Video will never know how greatly they will be missed. Nothing beat going to rent a handful of DVD's on a Friday night.
Didn't medal of honor kill its self because of warfighter?
+Jackgamer190 Warfighter was pretty good. Cod is just too big.
alternine That isnt what most of the reviews say.
Jackgamer190 Meh screw reviews. I like to think for myself.
+ultraboy222 you serious? warfighter was a more tactical game than cod.
Guys cod killed itself with ghosts
VHS vs Betamax
Blu ray vs HD-DVD
Come on! How can you forget these?
+እዮብ «JOBA» ፍትዊ Blu ray is still expensive for most, and it has not been as wipespread as hoped. DVD still sells more than Blu ray.
Milliardo5 True, but it killed off HD-DVD for good. Besides, it's become the standard discs for PS3, PS4 and even rival Xbox One. So while it's not as mainstream for movies and other uses, it pretty much cinched the video game disc market.
Soon enough, libraries will soon close now that we can read on the internet now.
Google Books will replace the libraries
Sad
When I heard that Sonar Ping at the beginning I was waiting for the Acapella Mix of Crazy to start.
