At 57 I've now been on the 2013 model 1000SX for 10 years and 120k Kms. Great to see all of the upgrades. My daily commute and the riding position is excellent. The power curve is straight with more than I will ever use at all revs which I love. The engine is pure joy. Thinking of upgrading later this year or early next and can't see myself picking a better bike for all round comfort and joy.
Looking at these nikes after a horrendous accident 2 years ago need somthing smooth n comfortable with a good ergo for my limted left arm movement. Sounds good from.the review. Just one question are you sure you're not a little bias as you own one ?
This is my fifth bike in 6 years. I've owned Suzuki, Honda, 2 Yamahas, and finally, the Kawasaki. Out of all of them, the Kawasaki fulfills all my needs. Owning all the big four has given me the advantage of comparing and choosing to best fit my needs. All were great bikes, but I evolved to the one that works best for me. At 70, and with a total knee replacement, a fusion with instrumentation, and multiple aches and pains from wreckless younger days, the Ninja 1000sx is the bike for me. Hope that answers your question. Ride well.
@@OldGuyRidin its answers it perfectly thanks man ur not the 1st person to say they love the 1000sx if ergot fit me well enough think.ive found my new bike 😀 👍 🏍 Ride safe
I love the anytime torque. The smooth engine, and the quick shifter. The brakes, skocks, and mirriors are good. The riding position is good. The bike looks good. I love everything about this bike.
I do my own maintenance, so my expenses are only materials. I learned that the dealership doesn't perform all the specified maintenance so I went onto UA-cam and learned how to do things myself.
Why wait Francois? If you can, purchase the proper gear and ride all year long. Usually, if it's dry out....I'm out. But having the right gear is paramount. Congrats on your new new bike. I know you're going to have many years of fun on it. Ride well mon ami.
Great vid and thanks for posting! It really upsets me when someone posts a “first” impressions ride on a bike they’ve never ridden or at the very least, researched. They usually miss a lot of the features the bike is capable of doing and they will post misinformation about the bike. Glad you were able to clear that up for the SX! I’ve been looking at this bike for a while. She is gorgeous. Ride safe…
The entire point of a 'first impressions' video, though, is to do just that: provide an impression on something they've never touched or ridden before. A first impressions by necessity must be a new experience, otherwise it would be a first ride. Small distinction, but it's there ;)
Just received mine today. Unbelievably smooth , I’m like perched high on the bike . Just watched your video to help me navigate through the menu to switch on the QS. I’m supposed to keep it under 4K rpm for 350km , then 6K for the next 350km & still not go crazy from 700km onwards. Thank you for helping me make the right decision. I’ve had a Diavel , Gs1200, Yamaha Xsr 900 , Suzuki gsxs 1000 , then concourse 1400 , then Hayabusa 22 & now finally the Z1000 sx . It’s the best all rounder for me after going through the entire circuit of bikes. Why not many would choose this over a GS for touring boggles me . Nil off-road for me . This is perfect & a lot cheaper too.
Congrats, my friend. You're in for a great experience. I rode mine the way I usually ride right from the start. There are a lot of myths about a 'soft' break-in versus a 'hard' one. You do what you feel best doing. It's all good! Ride well!
I couldn't agree more. People need to really get to know the bike before they post any videos. For years, I complaint about the sport bikes riding position. This Kawasaki is perfect in every aspect.
Thank you very much for explaining the ride modes and I got my last month great bike I loved but in the dealership didn't explain to me any of this things so video very helpful. Thanks
The motojitsu review was one of 30 reviews in 30 days, or some gimmicky thing like that. None of his videos went into any depth and often times he didn't even know basic controls like the ones described in this video.
@@theunluckycharm9637 It just depends on what you're looking for. If you want a first impression based on a 30 minute ride and without really knowing all the features of the bike then this type of review is fine. I appreciate the reviewers who put more time on a bike and take the time to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the bike better. I like a lot of motojitsu videos but felt the 30 bikes in 30 days was kind of gimmicky and not very informative.
Because people like him are too focused on pushing out content then taking the time to truly get to know the bike in order to give it a proper review. Anything for views these days !
I had an '11 N1K and loved her. Modded her into an upright, lightweight ST and thought it was my last bike. Sadly, it was not a good 2-up bike so she left my garage and was replaced by '16 FJR1300A, which I also love. The '23 appears to have resolved a few of the issues from my '11- cruise control being the biggest issue- but the clip-ons on your '23 look straighter and flatter than my former '11's did. Even w/Murph's risers, the slip-ons downward angle bothered me on longer rides, putting my wrists into a less than comfortable position. I'm gonna have to stop by a dealer and take a test sit.
I think a test ride would be on order. You'll not regret it. And if the Ninja 1000sx isn't your cup of tea the yest ride will, at the very least, give you that information. Or....it may turn out to be your next bike. Ride well my friend.
Thanks so much for this excellent review, mine is being delivered next week. I got the touring edition for 1k less than retail. The bike seems amazing.
Im 56 dont know how long ill last lol ! Ill love your channel and im catching up on your videos.I hope you are keeping well out there. Im from the UK @@OldGuyRidin
Here in cold and wet Wales, I've not ridden my SX for a month so to get my fix I check out any new reviews. I too saw MJ review and thought it was to generic to be worth anything and certainly doesn't constitute a 'review' Whilst the Dealer bears some responsibility, the onus is on the reviewer to be prepared. I look forward to your reviews this year (already watched your month one)
@@OldGuyRidin yep. It just is weird. Like sometimes it will blip the throttle but the gear won’t change. It seems to perform best if I release off the throttle before engine braking for more than 3 seconds. Like if I downshift within 3s of releasing throttle it’s good to go, but if I have been off the throttle for a while it doesn’t play so well. Not too sure why
@aquaprofile Strange. I'd let the dealer know about it while it's still under warranty. Probably nothing, but don't take that chance. Rather safe than sorry, right?
Lovely review, I've got me self this beauty last year, 2022 model, 6000km on it already...done a big trip from germany to croatia approx. 1000km one way...absolutley great bike for touring and having fun at the same time...few things to change imo, seat and wind shield for long tourings as you mentioned, and new slip on just for the visuals, not big fan of the stock one...have a good grip and many happy rides...
Thanks man. Sounds like you had an awesome trip. Germany to Croatia! Wow! If you have videos you should post them. You are absolutely right about the seat and windscreen. The slip-on would be nice but better gear is next on my list. Ride long and well my friend.
Wow! Fantastic video! Two things 1) I'm a MotoJitsu fan. I hadn't realized how much info was missing from his video until I saw yours. 2) I literally just got back from the Kawasaki Demo Truck in my area. I rode the N1000 and was unable to engage the quickshifter. A guy who rode it before me was also unsuccessful. We spoke to other riders about it and concluded that maybe it only worked above a certain rmp. Or maybe it only worked shifting up, but not with downshifting. Thanks to this video, I'm sure it just wasn't turned on. It's so weird because the spokespeople informed Ninja, ZX6R and Versys 1k riders that their bikes had quickshifting. They explained how it worked but never showed or mentioned that it had to be turned on. I'm on a FJR1300 now. The Ninja is a top contender for my next bike. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe
Thanks so much. Glad the video helped you. Sometimes people forget to inform riders of some functions of the bikes. Lesson learned for you though. Next demo day, ask about the bikes. Ride well my friend.
Thanks again for the tutorial on the modes and screens.....picking my 2023 SX this Monday. I'm trading in the Versys 1000. I'm looking forward to getting it setup to my liking. Watching the videos is like, motorcycle recon!
Good day from Greece, thanks for sharing this video I really needed the info you gave us. I'm also "old" (62) and want to upgrade from Versys 650 which is an excellent comfortable bike but I miss the 4 cylinders I used to ride and the lower standing on a street bike. I was wondering how comfortable the SX is because of some back and neck issues but it looks it will be ok for long daily rides that I usually do. Ride safe I wait for your next video!
Great comment. Yes, I have a fusion with instrumentation in my lower back, bad knees, and arthritis in my neck and haven't had any issues with the Ninja 1000sx. I'm sure you'll get many years of enjoyment from it. Ride well my Greek friend.
@@OldGuyRidin thanks man! For sure it's gonna be a big upgrade, but I'm almost 40, I'm upgrading more for the goodies like the quickshifter and cruise control than the power. Although power is nice too :P
@@MattCantSpeakIthey mate, I've got a '23 Ninja 400 and planning on upgrading my bike in early 2026. How does the Ninja 1000SX compare to the 400 in terms of comfort, handling and power?
@@YasarChowdhury Handling, well it's a heavier bike, but it handles very well too, just takes getting used to. As far as power goes... the front wheel lifts up in 3rd gear, not trying to. This is by far the fastest land vehicle I've ever got to ride, there is no car under a half a million bucks out there that would scare me... this bike is INSANE. This probably doesn't help with the wait until 2026, does it? XD
@@MattCantSpeakIt it really doesn't help with the wait, but I'm in Australia, so I couldn't legally get one until I get my Open licence in 2026! How's the handling in slow-speed maneuvers and how does it handle in the twisties at speeds of 40+mph/60kmph+? My style of riding is spirited sports touring (I've put around 11,000 miles/18,000km on my Ninja 400 over the last year). How does it feel on the highway compared to the 400? How's the exhaust sound and do you have an aftermarket one?
Ride it like you stole it. Every single one of these bikes do a full dyno run as soon as they come off the line. The “keep the rpms down” is for legal purposes, not engine break-in. My break-in procedure for any Japanese bike is to ride it how it was meant to be ridden but change the oil at half intervals. Instead of 600 miles, I changed mine at 300, then 600, again at 1,000 and then 2,000. Every 3,000 after that or once a year.
I can tell you about the wind buffeting right now. If you plan on touring you may want to upgrade the windscreen. I like it in the lowest position myself. In its highest position there's too much wind on my neck and helmet. This can be a nuisance especially if you motovlog. The seat feels great to me and I think whether it may be good for everyone is relative. There are two other seats available for this bike and, who knows, perhaps on time I may upgrade to a plusher one. For now, I'm good. The ergonomics are fantastic for longer rides. I'll check out the cruise control in my next video. Hope this has somewhat satisfied your question. Ride well my friend.
Thank you for the first impressions! Considering the pleasant engine, up to what speeds is it audible and hence enjoyable to your ears before wind noise blocks it out? I test rode the gsx-1000gt and above 60km/h the wind blast was deafening.
Thanks, I have this 2022 model. But I forgot some features^^. Can't wait to ride it again when the season will open in Canada. Also, 2023 model is in Sovereign red, so I exchanged my 2022 (Black/white) to the red one. And keep all my options with me lol (no resell value any way).
Well done sir! It's always best to change any upgrades or modifications over to the next bike if possible. I hold on to all my original parts for just that reason. Ride well my friend.
Great review. I ride a Kawasaki Versys 650. It is beyond comfortable!! Definitely considering the 1000SX as an upgrade. However, I am 6 foot 5 205 LBS. Would comfort be an issue given my dimensions? Thanks for the awesome review.
My best advice would be to test ride or, at least, sit on one and decide if you'd be comfortable. I'm just under 6 feet with a 33 inch inseam. I can't imagine your weight being an issue. Hope it works out for you. Ride well friend.
@@konner8766 Well. I just answered my own question. I sat on the Ninja 1000. Definitely too small for me. So, I now ride a Versys 1000. Unbelievable machine. Fits me like a glove. It’s like having a Cadillac and a Ferrari at the same time. Love this bike. Love it.
Wow, thanks I'm really on the fence for the z900 and this bike. I have bad knees, bone spurs, and arthritis. This seems like it would be a really comfortable ride plus it has all the power, dose it have heated grip.
Heated grips are an option for it. I think this bike will do it all for you. Check out my video on my 9 month review of this bike. Ride well, ride safe.
Thanks for the videos........job well done! and don't be shy about doing some more. I'm having a difficult time finding a SX in my area. The search continues. First world problems, I a have a 21 Z900RS and a 18 Versys 1000 so, I'm not broken hearted :)
Crosswinds can take you by surprise on occasion. They don't, however, blow you all around. A constant wind has been no issue. Gusts up to 50 mph (80.47 kph) are easily handled. But, again, a crosswind can take you by surprise.
How is the turn in around corners…I demoed an older 2014 or 15 and it seemed to require some effort which I also read others complain about? Also how does the transmission shift in manual mode..the one I rode did not seem to have much feel to it? Thanks. I am still looking for a bike btw…
I have found no issues dipping into a curve. I can't speak for others, but I practice a lot of different drills, and it's helped me with my connection with my bike. Manual shifting is as smooth, if not more so, as the quick-shifter. Again, my training has brought me to have a greater feel for the clutch (which is light. I can hold it in all day it's so light). As with anything, you have to invest a lot of time and effort. Hope this helps you. Good luck with whatever bike you pick.
I have paid an account on this bike and I will have it at the beginning of June. What do you think of this motorcycle as a first motorcycle? Is it too powerful or are there ways to be safe without being too scared with all this power compared to a Z650 like in my motorcycle course at the moment? Thanks again for your video
It's only as powerful as you make it , as fast as your right hand allows it and being disciplined in your riding until you really get used to the power . 👍😉
This might be my next ride! just hate the 2 colours. I have a ninja 400 KRT now and want to get away from the green and burgundy is no better :( wish they just made it plane black and or white, then let you upgrade to those colours if you want them.
Sir, great review/feedback. I've got a 2018 Vstrom 650DL (primarily designed for road). Great all-around bike. Wondering how your bike compares outside of the obvious power. Have you ever been on a Vstrom? Thank you! Roni
Hi Roni, I actually looked at several adventure bikes including the vstrom 1000. I heard there were a lot of people using them as touring bikes. I decided on the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx because I like the sport aspect even though, at my age, the track is definitely not an option. Thank you for your comment and compliment. Ride well my friend.
This is on my short list of bikes I’d like to buy next year. Basically between this and 1000gt. Mostly wanting this for commuting and then touring on the weekends. Looks like an amazing bike and much more affordable than BMW XR or GS. How’s the wind on your hands. Notice your wearing heated gloves. Live in CO so own a pair myself since I ride in winter.
There are a few videos out there comparing the Ninja 1000sx to the Suzuki GSX 1000gt. You should watch them. The Suzuki's brakes aren't as good though they're Brembos. It's also not as comfortable or refined as the 1000sx. The windscreen isn't adjustable either. People more interested in the "sporty" aspect of the bike prefer the Suzuki. It has 10 more horsepower than the Ninja but the Ninja has more torque. Lastly, this is pretty much the first generation of the 1000gt as a sport/tourer in comparison to the fifth generation of the 1000sx. Ultimately, it's up to you. Just thought I'd throw some information your way. Yeah, the gloves are Highway21 but they're only good in temperatures of 40 degrees and up. I'm looking into the RST Paragon 6's. Not interested in being tethered to the bike so battery powered are my preference. Any suggestions? Ride well and best of luck with whatever bike you choose.
Love the bike and great review. Looking forward to see you ride her through the twisties. Oh and make sure to get that exhaust. You need people to hear you. Lol. Stay safe and happy holidays.
Thanks John. Taking the MT-09 out today. Got a few mods (tank grips, side cases, battery tender hook-up, swingarm spools, frame sliders, and phone mount). Some are installed and others haven't arrived yet. Frame sliders may wait until Spring or a warmer day. Little apprehensive about messing with the fairings in cold weather what with the plastic fasteners involved. You stay safe as well my Florida friend. Happy Holidays!!!
I can’t believe it’s not butter 🧈 lol😂 Great review glad you are enjoying your new toy. I would love to try the new Yamaha tracer I saw it in red and all I have to say is Wow. Excellent review 👍
So between 60 and 78 mph (100 - 130 kph), it's not bad. The stock windscreen has adjustments for 4 positions. I prefer the lowest position. It puts the wind on my chest. The higher positions put it more on my helmet which interferes with my motovlogging. There is a touring windscreen available if you're more into the longer commute. I actually purchased an Aeromax windscreen, which is sportier. I use both depending on the ride. Only takes a couple of minutes to change them out. Hope that helps. Ride well friend.
Wonderful review! I am considering the same bike, but I am a bit confused. I would like to ask you a couple of questions, if you do not mind. 1) Have you had any experience with fillion so far? 2) Have you considered the Suzuki GSX S1000GT or even Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ before making the purchase? Fillion comfort is important to me, because it is the main reason why I am getting a sport tourer: To be able to travel around Austrian Alps with my partner. Since my main purpose is to do long trips, reliability is also extremely important. For some reason, Suzuki as a brand represent reliability to me. Do you find Kawasaki just as reliable? On top of that, I want to be able to commute with my bike. How do you find Ninja's urban performance?
The bike feels great! Even during slow speed maneuvers it's easy to handle. Provided you practice slow speed drills. Very well balanced. I can come to a full stop at a stop sign then move on without putting a foot down. If you're proficient with the clutch and have experience with slow speed drills, you'll have no issues.
If I could do a comparison I would. The dealership had one there. However, I'm not a well-known UA-cam celeb so getting them to allow me to use the bike just isn't going to happen. In fact, very few dealerships in this state even have demos. Motojitsu has videos of the two but not in a comparison format. Check those out. Perhaps they'll help. Ride well my friend.
I'm currently riding a BMW S1000R (since 2016), great bike, but my aches and pains are winning the battle (early sixties). I want to keep the speed but also be comfortable after a two- or three-hour ride and occasional out of state trip. I have my eyes of this bike, but I cannot find a dealer that gives a test ride here in Florida. I'm reviewing as many videos as possible before I pull the trigger on this bad boy. Need your honest opinion, I'm 5-7, 32 in seam, with lower back, knees and neck pain after riding my bike for three hours. Do you think the ergonomics on the Ninja would work for me or should I look for something more straight up like a GS?
Without knowing the conditions under which your pain is generated I'd rather not give my opinion. I can tell you this, I have a fusion with instrumentation L5-S1 in my lower back. I have a total knee replacement of my right knee and after two surgeries on my left knee have osteoarthritis in it. My rides haven't exceeded 2 to 2 1/2 hours as yet and I'm having no issues. Your height and inseam seam very good for this bike. That being said, get to a dealer and just sit on one for a bit of time. It may give you an idea of the ergonomics. If it feels right, believe me, the suspension will take good care of you. This is my opinion. I also suggest you talk to your doctor (an orthopedic one if possible should your aches and pain concern joints) and see what he/she may think. Best of luck.
Old guy, I was able to do demo rides at Daytona, Orange City, and Lakeland and was able to compare it with the Suzuki GT. The rides are incredibly similar, but the thing I noticed was the heat I received down on my boots. For me it was more uncomfortable on the Ninja. Was wondering if you have noticed it and if so, how had you coped with it?
I have had no issues with heat what so ever. You couldn't tell that the Ninja was so much more refined than the Suzuki? Interesting. All I can say is, for me, the Ninja had it all over the Suzuki. Now if I were looking for a bike to be used more for the sporting aspect the Suzuki might win out. But remember, it's a first generation. Compare that to the fifth generation Ninja. Something to be considered. Ride well.
@Old Guy Ridin' I was sold on the Ninja after the first two rides, then I rode the Suzuki and started comparing both. Even my wife agrees with me on the Ninja, I guess I'm been nick picking. Thanks for your honest input.
I like it a lot. It's smaller than some other screens but I can see everything I need to see. I don't understand why people want these gigantic screens. My eyes are more focused on the road and its surroundings.
Nice review. I'm kind of a Suzuki loyalist but I think I'd take the Kawi over the GT, plus this sells for cheaper. I just dislike their black/green color scheme.
@@OldGuyRidin Yeah the black/red :) It just looks like a black bike with some Autozone stickers on, they have to revamp the design a bit, maybe try mainly white with green accents. Nice content in either case.
How can you recommend a bike to people when you don't say a word about your height and weight? I've only sat on the 2023 sx. Well, actually I sat on it 4 or 5 times. I'm 6'1" and I weigh 275. I have a size 13 foot also. Don't get me wrong, I love the bike. It's just that I'm not so sure about riding it for prolonged periods. However, say like the Honda Africa Twin 1100, I absolutely know it would be comfortable for someone my size. But there again, it's no sx. I think with a set of bar risers and maybe a little taller seat and a bigger windscreen, it might be better for me
It's easy to recommend a bike. However, people need to use their own judgement on whether that bike works for them. Good point though about height and weight and perhaps inseam. Also, there are alot of bikes out there the 1000sx included that give you the opportunity to have the suspension adjusted to one's own height and weight. In the end, one has to use their own common sense before deciding on...well, anything. Ride well.
@@OldGuyRidin lmao, I don't even have my motorcycle license yet. Haven't even been on a bike in at least 45 years. But I will get one pretty soon. Just not absolutely sure about what I want yet.
Look into a smaller bike that can accommodate your weight. If you enjoy it, move up. I started on a scooter when I got back into riding. Now, I'm on the 1000sx. Take it slow and evolve into it. You may decide you're not into it so keep the cost down until you know.
Good video! So you have also found this wonderful motorcycle, just like me :) I've had mine since 2021 and just love it. I have hit the subscribe button and will add you and your videos...I might learn something new. Drive carefully out there.
Absolutely not! One liter bikes are powerful machines and one needs to be proficient at advanced skills to safely operate one. Get yourself a Yamaha MT-07. Take some courses and practice, practice, practice. Be safe.
They're the Highway21 7v heated gloves. If you ride in weather when it's 37 degrees Fahrenheit or 3 degrees Celsius, I wouldn't suggest them. I'm actually looking at the RST Paragon 6 heated gloves. The Highway21 gloves are well constructed, feel great, and perform well enough in certain weather but for those colder days as I mentioned they lack. Great question. Ride well friend.
@@OldGuyRidin Okay interesting. I recently bought those exact ones (the RST), but I think I have a faulty pair. They don't charge well and don't get that warm. But the batteries might be bad. Sorting that out with the reseller atm. Other than that they're are nice and warm when off and water proof. The RST's do seem a bit thicker than those Highway21's, hence why I was interested. Thanks for your response :)
You might think about the 12v gloves. They get warmer for longer but hook up to the bikes battery. I just feel comfortable being tethered to my bike. Keis is coming out with a 12v battery for their gloves.
@@OldGuyRidin I'll keep an eye out for those, for Keis in general. They seem like high quality products. I did buy these specifically because they run on batteries. I have multiple bikes I ride during winter. So otherwise it might be a hassle and more expensive (to buy multiple connectors/cables) than battery operated gloves.
@jhc38 I think you've made a fine choice, my friend. You'll not regret it. I'm nearly 2 years of ownership, and she still runs like the day I bought her. I'm also a big believer of maintenance and perform my own. Take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you.
Well done, I just gave some negative feedback to another channel with similar situation where the reviewer didn't bother to take 3 minutes to download a simple spec sheet before doing a test ride review. If one is planning on speaking with authority one should at least become familiar with the topic at hand.
@@OldGuyRidin but is it enough to get in my driveway? I've seen videos claiming it an issue bottoming out ? Yes as long as one sticks to a level road surface but parking lots driveways incline
I wouldn't expect a reviewer to read the manual but I would expect him to ask the dealership about certain functions he usually features on his test rides.
Why are all of these features being pushed onto these bikes. Let the bike be the bike it was built to be. I get rain mode at best, but if you can't handle a 1000cc you shouldn't buy it until you're ready.
I agree, but let's be real here. There are too many people out there that THINK they can handle a liter bike. At least with different modes you can ease yourself in. Thing is, most are too ignorant to do that. Can't blame the manufacturer for trying to help those who aren't capable.
Most people can get the idea through general instructions on the use of the buttons needed to perform certain functions. There are people, such as yourself, who need to be held by the hand. I guess in the future, I should treat riders as if they know absolutely nothing. My apologies.
I'm not having a pop at you bud , it's just it was tiny even on the big screen. I have never had a tft screen before but have had a z1000sx before 2013 model and thinking of going back to another possibly a 2023. Currently on a ZZR1400 . Oh, what make are your heated gloves too 👍😉
You're absolutely correct on the smallness of the display. First time I did something like that. In the future, I'll use a handheld camera set to linear rather than the helmet camera on superview. I believe those gloves are the Highway21 Radiant. I wouldn't recommend them. I would recommend the RST Paragon 6 heated gloves. The Highway21 didn't last a year before they stopped working. Ride well.
Went to (stealers) dealers today to look at a few 2020- 2023 models had about 10 in and found the one I want 2023 with very low mileage (under 1000 miles ). Just needs the kawasaki crash sliders and hugger extender to protect rear shock. Superb condition, just need to get a good part exchange deal on my ZZR1400 now, the stealers are as tight as a ducks behind but I'm working on em !! 👍😉😂
Motojitsu reviews are shallow and he does no research beforehand. It’s a disservice to the bikes he reviews. It’s all about view count for monetization.
2 minutes. That's how much of this video I watched. I want to hear your 1st ride impression of this motorcycle. Not your opinion about somebody else's review. I don't care about that review. I only care about learning what I can about this motorcycle.
It’s a great bike…for an hour or two. The seat is an absolute torture rack. Feet get sore on the pegs after a few hours on it. I’ve owned 2. A 2017 and a 2023. Unfortunately, outside of the ridiculousness that is Russell DayLong, nobody makes a good seat for it. And as comfortable as it is, the RDL is absolutely hideous. Still trying to find the right combination that will let me use the touring portion of this sport tourer.
I prefer heated gloves that run on a battery rather than connect to the battery. I don't want to be tethered to the bike. Heated grips aren't for me but may be a good choice for someone where the colder weather is more prevalent. I keep two fingers on the brake and clutch the whole time I'm riding so grips would be pretty much useless for me. Research, go on forums with people in your area on this one.
@@OldGuyRidin You’re not far from back twisting roads though. I live about an hour north of you. All kinds of winding roads once you get out of the city.
I couldn't agree with you more.
Ride well, my friend.

Congrats on your new new bike. I know you're going to have many years of fun on it.

Got my Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SE on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. It is a 2023 bike with only 3 400 km at the odometer. Absolutely fantastic!
My brother has one from 2017. It’s a perfect bike. Calm when you want and ballistic when you want.
You are exactly right my friend.
Ride safe…
Thank you so much for your comment. There's still more to cover but that'll be in another video.
Ride well my friend.
Ride well!

The motojitsu review was one of 30 reviews in 30 days, or some gimmicky thing like that. None of his videos went into any depth and often times he didn't even know basic controls like the ones described in this video.
Why is this a negative thing?
@@theunluckycharm9637 It just depends on what you're looking for. If you want a first impression based on a 30 minute ride and without really knowing all the features of the bike then this type of review is fine. I appreciate the reviewers who put more time on a bike and take the time to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the bike better. I like a lot of motojitsu videos but felt the 30 bikes in 30 days was kind of gimmicky and not very informative.
Because people like him are too focused on pushing out content then taking the time to truly get to know the bike in order to give it a proper review. Anything for views these days !
Motojitsu is a tool
Your help is really appreciated.

I'm doing well David. You hang in there. You're just a younster.
Here in cold and wet Wales, I've not ridden my SX for a month so to get my fix I check out any new reviews.
I too saw MJ review and thought it was to generic to be worth anything and certainly doesn't constitute a 'review'
Whilst the Dealer bears some responsibility, the onus is on the reviewer to be prepared.
I look forward to your reviews this year (already watched your month one)
Thanks Bob. You should get yourself a GoPro and do a video on the proper gear for cold, wet riding conditions. I'd watch it.
Just got me a 1000SX and I absolutely love it! Only complaint would be the QS when downshifting can be finicky.
@aquaprofile Really? I haven't had an issue. You're fully off the throttle when downshifting, yes?

You are absolutely right about the seat and windscreen. The slip-on would be nice but better gear is next on my list.
Ride long and well my friend.
Wow! Fantastic video! Two things
1) I'm a MotoJitsu fan.

As far as power goes... the front wheel lifts up in 3rd gear, not trying to. This is by far the fastest land vehicle I've ever got to ride, there is no car under a half a million bucks out there that would scare me... this bike is INSANE.

Great review. Very informative.
@azkikrx1 Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it. Ride well.
Good idea to keep the Quickshifter off until the bikes run in as your supposed to keep the revs down
Ride it like you stole it.
I like those heated gloves (battery powered?). Got any info on them?
How’s the 2 up riding? Is 400lbs of passengers too much?
Great video as usual! 👍 I’d be interested to know how this bike feels on longer journeys, wind buffeting etc.
There is no wind buffeting. And with the large windscreen you are even better protected. And an enhanced look too.

@@OldGuyRidin was wondering which State?😁
Nice review. Wondering how old you are? I'm 56 and thinking about getting one but concerned about comfort, etc.
I'm 70 with a fusion with instrumentation L5-S1 in my lower back and a total knee replacement. The comfort level of the bike is outstanding.
I am so close to buying one of these, my only real concern is with the handlebars - while you are riding, is there any weight on your wrists?
How does it handle on a windy day ? I live in a town with strong wind and wind gusts. Plus I’m a light person.

Sir, great review/feedback. I've got a 2018 Vstrom 650DL (primarily designed for road). Great all-around bike. Wondering how your bike compares outside of the obvious power. Have you ever been on a Vstrom? Thank you! Roni
Hi Roni,
I actually looked at several adventure bikes including the vstrom 1000. I heard there were a lot of people using them as touring bikes. I decided on the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx because I like the sport aspect even though, at my age, the track is definitely not an option.
Thank you for your comment and compliment.

Excellent review 👍
How is the wind let say between 100 - 130 km/ h . You can adjust the wind shield a bit🤔
👍🇫🇮🏍. Ride safe
@@OldGuyRidin thank you and ride safe
Great bike.
Thanks man. Looks like you got yourself one.
Does the bike feel nimble and sporty? I lve been contemplating getting one of these but unsure if it'll feel heavy at slower speeds.
Beautiful bike! Maybe a comparison to the Tracer 9 GT?
If I could do a comparison I would. The dealership had one there. However, I'm not a well-known UA-cam celeb so getting them to allow me to use the bike just isn't going to happen. In fact, very few dealerships in this state even have demos.
Motojitsu has videos of the two but not in a comparison format. Check those out. Perhaps they'll help.
Ride well my friend.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Thanks old guy, keep the rubber down.
How do you like the dash screen? Hard to tell, but on the video it looks kinda small.
@@darekm6859 They do have other colors available.
@@OldGuyRidin Yeah the black/red :) It just looks like a black bike with some Autozone stickers on, they have to revamp the design a bit, maybe try mainly white with green accents. Nice content in either case.
Hey there, You should check out the 40th Anniversary Edition . I think it’s the best one
Good video!
So you have also found this wonderful motorcycle, just like me :)
I've had mine since 2021 and just love it.
I have hit the subscribe button and will add you and your videos...I might learn something new.
Drive carefully out there.
Thank you Rikard. I appreciate your support.
Ride well my friend.
Hi, new rider here. Do you think this bike will be okay for a new beginner that has not ridden a 1litre before?
Absolutely not! One liter bikes are powerful machines and one needs to be proficient at advanced skills to safely operate one. Get yourself a Yamaha MT-07. Take some courses and practice, practice, practice.
Be safe.
Why didn't you change into 5th and 6th.
what is the official top speed on this bad boy?
Which heated gloves do you have (I assume they're heated)?
Heated gloves? What kind and any good?
Highway21 and not for anything below 37 degrees Fahrenheit or 3 degrees Celsius.
do the menu let you change km/h to mil/h and back??
@jhc38 Absolutely. And from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
@@OldGuyRidin nice. oh well it looks like Kawasaki is getting my money next year when the season starts 😁
@jhc38 I think you've made a fine choice, my friend. You'll not regret it. I'm nearly 2 years of ownership, and she still runs like the day I bought her. I'm also a big believer of maintenance and perform my own. Take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you.
What is the main reason this bike wins the battle over the Suzuki GT?
It's all-around performance. Plus the technology is outstanding and far exceeds the Suzuki.
MotoJitsu is a super smart guy for sure, but he's not that keen on setting up a motorcycle's settings within the dashboard😀
Why did you need to change the rpms to 8,000?
It’s for the “shift light” feature. Mine is set to 10,000.
If you could only have 1 bike would it be this?
Yes! This bike does everything I need for it to do. Check out my video on the 9-month review. I say it all there.
Thanks for the question.
Ride well.
Well done, I just gave some negative feedback to another channel with similar situation where the reviewer didn't bother to take 3 minutes to download a simple spec sheet before doing a test ride review. If one is planning on speaking with authority one should at least become familiar with the topic at hand.
Thank you so much. I do agree with your statement.
Ride well my friend.

I hope this is Turkish.

Should read "Enjoy my friend"
@@OldGuyRidin i said 360p is avaible only for this moment so im waiting for the better video quality render from youtube
✌👍
?clearance?
5.299 inches. More than enough to enjoy the track or twisties.
@@OldGuyRidin but is it enough to get in my driveway? I've seen videos claiming it an issue bottoming out ? Yes as long as one sticks to a level road surface but parking lots driveways incline
I'd have to see your driveway. On occasion, I've ridden off the curb with no issues.
7:32 that's a penalty
Perhaps you could further explain.
@OldGuyRidin you didn't come to a full stop at the stop sign
Or buddy didn't read the owner's manual....one of the two.
I wouldn't expect a reviewer to read the manual but I would expect him to ask the dealership about certain functions he usually features on his test rides.
Motojitsu don't know jack. Motojitsu ain't bout jack 🤣
You must be young. As you age you'll have the ability of keeping an open mind. Or I guess you could be older and just set in your ways. Shame.
Seems complicated
What seems complicated? Specify please.
What was the point in going through the screen / modes when we can't even see it ?!?! 🙄🙄
Who cares what someone else's video says, just do yours unless you are running out of ideas and need someone's video
I feel if someone as reputable as Motojitsu does a video reviewing a bike, he should educate himself as to it's functions.
But..Terrrr😂😂
Motojitsu reviews are shallow and he does no research beforehand. It’s a disservice to the bikes he reviews. It’s all about view count for monetization.
Thank you! You hit the nail on the head.
Ride well, my friend.
He stops yappin’ at 5:52 and rides the motorcycle. You’re welcome.🤷🏻♂️
I didn't know you could give an impression without "yappin". You are welcome.
2 minutes. That's how much of this video I watched. I want to hear your 1st ride impression of this motorcycle. Not your opinion about somebody else's review. I don't care about that review. I only care about learning what I can about this motorcycle.
Had you watched more you'd have gotten that information. You need to work on your patience.
MotoJitsu is a dead loss. A hitherto inexperienced rider trying to pose as an expert .
I disagree Motojitsu is an experienced instructor… he just didn’t know the settings.
Still trying to find the right combination that will let me use the touring portion of this sport tourer.
getting mine tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sam Martin you are one lucky guy. That's awesome man! Congrats and enjoy!
@@OldGuyRidin it's my 50th birthday gift from my incredible wife
That's some wife you've got. 50? You're just a kid. I celebrated my 70th on March 11th.
Ride well friend.
@@OldGuyRidin happy birthday and thank you for the video , by the way heated gloves or heated handles ? im in canada brrrrrrrrrrr
Nice riding in MD
Thanks. It is nice riding in MD. Not many twisties where I live but that's okay
Ride well my friend.
@@OldGuyRidin You’re not far from back twisting roads though. I live about an hour north of you. All kinds of winding roads once you get out of the city.
I'll have to check thise out. BTW, you know anyone looking for a bike? I'm selling my 2021 MT-09. Don't need two bikes.
