    Hey, is the plant leg thing a very important thing for vertical jump because i never do that because im scared of breaking my ankle

      It’s only advised if you have enough strength. You will likely just need some more general strength first

    Why does running into the jump allow you to jump higher than a standard no movement vertical jump?

      you need start up and more force as you jump off the ground. when you stand still and jump up the only movement that helps you is your arms

      Momentum means your force created by running carries through into the jump, she just changed the direction of the force and used her own jump as well

      momentum and you push into the ground so its like a spring that recoils back

    If any volleyball player is being taught to jump with feet facing forward they have not been taught right. Not only is it bad for jump height, but its bad generating power in the hit.

      I can assure you that I most definitely do not teach foot forward plant sequences. We use a specific assessment to determine the most efficient degree of turn stance for that athlete.
