Hello! I’m training to be a volleyball player. I’m training to increase my vertical. One thing that has been important to me and helped me train is just practice. Everyday I do normal exercises that improve leg strength and then vertical practice. My vertical and improved tremendously due to this. Bounders also help me train. I usually do bounders in groups of ten (I find a wall and jump as fast and as high as I can reaching my fingers as far as possible and touching the wall ten times). I hope this helps anyone who wants to fly just Hinata. Keep practicing everyone!
@Back on Track nope I was really close but then I got sick and had a bad cough for 2 weeks. Then when I started to play basketball again I got injured so was out for a month. I'm still working for that first dunk though 💪
@Back on Track I was trying some of these jumps but something I noticed which is kinda annoying is that my brain also jumps at a super high speed and crashes with my skull and I wondered if that was normal for you guys too cause my head kinda hurts when that happens

Randomly browsing online videos, I stumbled across this video. Good tips. I'm glad people are sharing their knowledge on how to achieve high vertical jumps. What I'm about to share, please don't see it as bragging... as I share my own factual experience. Maybe it could help you, too. I'm 57yo now. I achieved my maximum true vertical jump (without steroids/PEDS) when I was between the ages 27 to 30 when I used to play volleyball. I stand at 5'9" with shoes on. I used to get the top of my head to and inch ABOVE the 10' basketball hoop... a true vertical jump of 52". I haven't seen anyone jump higher. I can't really use these techniques shown in the video (no offense to the makers... I like that you try to help others). I trained differently. For starters, you need to know how high is your current vertical jump. Be wary of how people measure their "verts." Many people claim to have 65" verts... because that's the height of the box/platform they jump on. It's an incorrect vert measurement. If you measure the height of your ischial tuberosity (look it up) from the floor, and say it's 40", and you manage to jump onto a 65" platform... because you are very flexible as to just lift your feet higher than your schial tuberosity... then for me, you've only achieved a true vertical jump of 25" (65-40=25). Similarly, a 6' person who gets the top of his head to the height of the basketball hoop jumps a 48" vert. 6 feet to 10 feet is 4 feet or 48 inches. It's simple arithmetic. But iIf I had measured my own vertical jump with a platform jump, too, then my vertical jump would be 85". Wow. But, no, that's not the way I liked to measure my true vertical jump. Also, touching high strip bars is an inaccurate method to measure vert because people tend to measure their standing high-reach with a pulled down shoulder and then jump to touch the high strip bars with a tipped-high shoulder... gaining at least 3" of vert. As for me, I touched 11'4" with both hands. For those of you who also play volleyball, you know that most advanced players can hit from the back row. At maximum vert, I also used to hit hard from the back row... to inside the 10' line (the shallowest I hit was on the 9' line) on the other court. It's not easy to do that even for a 6'7" seasoned player. I used to hit balls on top of the antenna. But I have no videos... only rich people had those bulky/huge video cameras then. No cellphone cameras existed then like we have them nowadays. My 2 cents into all this vertical jumping and training: yes, you need explosive power... but you must also know (or learn) about proper jumping form and technique (which I see lacking in the video), what is the firing order of the calves, quads, hams, glutes, and lower back muscles. Yes, I had to study, develop (through a LOT of trial and error), and invent the training and jumping techniques, myself, because no one else discovered it yet... not even today. I just don't see it anywhere... yet. I'd love to teach it, too, but I have no more energy or interest in it. A car accident 21 years ago took all of it away... 10 knee surgeries on the left knee alone. I can painfully only jump a true 30" vert on a good day now. My no-step standing vert used to be 44", while the 52" vert was achieved with a 5-step approach and launch. I wasn't gifted with that jump. I TRAINED HARD. I studied my own bio-mechanics as a youngster, pushed my inquisitive, scientific brain to think outside the box, weight trained (naturally) harder than most people, developed my own jump training exercises, and invented the jumping technique based on science/physics. I had to pay attention to every muscle fiber I could recruit for the jumping technique as the jump progressed from the approach, to the planting of the feet, to full leg compression/tension, to the explosive launch/jump, and the arm swing timing that went with the entire jumping motion. Yes, there's a LOT to know to jump that high. But I did it. I trained a 6'2" friend of mine who had a 24" vert. In about 18 months, he jumped a true 44". So, yes, it can be learned. I tried to get started writing a book about it, but I fizzled out on my desire and energy level (SportDominance DOT com). But I've given you my 2 cents worth of ideas... There are many hints in the text above as to how you can approach the learning and training for maximum vertical jumping. Remember this when you train: weight train for power, then understand your bodily muscle functions to know which muscles do what, when, how and why. Figure out the best jump training routine. Then put them all together with a "smooth jumping motion" (without flailing your arms every which way) and you'll definiteley gain more vertical jump. Cheers! (PS. I just stumbled on this video and I won't be back this way again. Sorry if you plan to write responses, but I won't see them anymore. Life is short. Enjoy it "cleanly.")

Im going to try several different videos workouts to improve my vertical. I’m 16 and 5’3 I can reach to about 8’4 I’m trying to get to 9
I'm 16 and 5'8 1/2 with a 30 inch vertical. I can almost grab 10 feet. When I started I could barley grab 8 feet. Anything is possible.
Im 6'5 and can do eastbays easily , my vert is 44-46 and im 16
I’m glad I found this. I really need this for basketball.
that awkward moment when your vertical is 6 inches-
can i do these workouts this whole week will my vertical be high by Saturday?
The effects go in while your sleeping... and your body gets sore, you need rest as well.
latest Sunday
Great video!!! Easy to understand and short
Well, I can probably dunk on a 8ft rim but still 6 inches short on 9ft so I'll probably keep on grinding

Me too bro I'm 5'8 and a a half at 14 and can touch rim, but I have never actually worked on my jumping skills. I am a runner, biker and swimmer and that's how I got strong legs. I hope I will be able to dunk in the near future cuz I'm gonna start doing this workout
I came back here to say after addin these to my routine I was able to dunk regular size ball after 10 tries on 9ft 3/4” rim n helped me get decent air time n explosiveness w my back flips💯🔥🔥
