Thanks Sam, bakes came out perfect. The best bakes I ever made. I can’t explain why as a Vincentian, I kept using Trini and Jamaican bakes recipe. This is the recipe!!! Keep these vincy recipes coming ❤️
Thank you, I appreciate it. I remember that's how my grandmother made them and it have the baking powder one as well that she made. I will do it one day. Thank you again!
My father is vincy and while we lived over there he used to make those everyday. Even now we moved to the US he's still going and these are phenomenal, can't wait to start learning for myself
Yes! You better start learning from him. They really will come in handy at times.
Stop cooking with lard, it’s unhealthy 😊

That's right!
You are welcome Freit!
As for the ring if a person don't want the ring around the sides of the bakes they have to fry them in more oil . My grandmother use to almost deep fry them ,no need to turn them on a side
Thank you for this version my family is from st.Kitts, st.Croix, and Antigua. I’ve tried my mom and grandmother way so many times with the baking powder and I can never get it right 😅I’ve followed this and my dumplings came out amazing 🤩
Wonderful, you are welcome!❤️
These were some of the best bakes ever!
Thank you Sam!
You are welcome dear, thank you!
My grandma used to make these and sometimes would add a slice of cheese in the middle. Such good memories. Thank you for sharing!

Y is it called bakes? It is fry dumplings .❤ it tho. Keep on cooking
In St.Vincent, Trinidad, and some other Caribbean islands, they do called it "bakes." The one they boil, we called it "dumpling."
Next time when you mix the ingredients please put the name of your your mixture on the screen
Why didn't you talk us through the process while you were adding the ingredients? That was a critical part especially the needing .
Thank for sharing . My favorite bakes

Where can I find your store?
Hi dear, I do not have a store.😊
I love the look of your bakes, best I have seen to date.
But I truly wish that for all the Caribbean channels, someone would step out of the box and start cooking with wholewheat flour.
Yes, we grew up on white flour, but for the love of all that is holy, let us try something different for a change. Be that person that stands out from the rest.
You are so right! I eat a lot of wheat products myself, and I will definitely take your comment into consideration. Thank you!I 😊
@@samsgiftedhands3998 Thank you and I am really looking forward to see you as the one person who steps out of the closed box and bring us some lovely wholewheat bakes or johnny cakes.
@@shirmelduggins9984 definitely will!
It's too thick
That is how we make bakes in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. If you are from Trinidad, this is not floats. Trinidadians make their floats flatter. This is definitely not donuts either. Please research before commenting.
Every country make difference it like donut we rolled it out a little
It is not too thick. This is how we make bakes in St Vincent. These are actually perfect.
Too thick for you? That is how we 🇻🇨 looove and enjoy our bakes. They are very soft and delicious. Leave us with our thick bakes
I am not from Trinidad thanks
Yummy tasty donut
Thank you but they are bakes.😂
how can u putting up a video showing people how to make food and having ur hand in a hot oil to burn up their hands?
That is how we do it you know. That is the same thing my grandmother used to do. I got it from her.
