They have now a new 22" model: Artist 22E, this has buttons on both sides and the cable management is now on the side of the display (previous model was on the buttom). It would be great if you could test this new model: XP-Pen Artist 22E to see what all the improvements are compared with the older model.
I currently draw on my bed so this is definitely a tablet I'll buy as a starting point in drawing on a screen, I can't really bother to buy the 22 inch one (or Huion's GT tablets) due to the space of my work area. I frequent your website and I have to say that your reviews are very reliable!
Excellent Reviewer!! Covers the major information you want to know, and is very clear which is important and appreciated. Good Job!! Thanks & Keep It Up!
+Teoh Yi Chie Do you think that it's possible to use this 16" tablet monitor on your lap? I'm not worried about weight, but I'm worried about cables (length, spaghetti) and buttons (power, brightness, contrast, etc). The shortcut buttons would be undefined in my case.
+Teoh Yi Chie Thanks! I'm used to drawing with a Staedtler Mars Tecnico A3 on my lap. And a footrest. I'm looking at tablet monitors for freehand sketching and drawing, rather than my precision technical drawing though.
I just subscribed. So nice to discover such a wonderfully detailed and honest art tech review channel! I was wondering do you do drawing tutorials (such as lining, shading, colouring etc)?
+Lily Vuong My drawing tutorials are related to pen ink and watercolor. Check out this playlist ua-cam.com/play/PLucoL_7WoAgDD3iul6Me6RIruU_UyhKDO.html
Can the stand be unscrewed and put on upside down for left-handed illustrators like myself? It appears to have a screen rotation option. Thanks for any info on this.
Careful guys - I bought mine and the screen died within two hours. The pen was still responsive, but I couldn't see the screen. I treat my equipment very well and I tried everything to fix the problem. I haven't heard anyone else with this issue, but be careful.
A black strip in the middle appeared on my screen after 2m I wanted to replace it but it was sold out so I got the refund :( I will buy it again when I can because it worked really well.
+Omar Gould It's Spyder 5 Pro. The calibrator will flash several colours on the screen and read the colours, then it will adjust the monitor's colour profile to show accurate colours. For example, if the monitor is too yellow, the calibrator software will remove the yellow. There is another brand called colormunki. Anyway, here's the link to Spyder www.amazon.com/Datacolor-Spyder5PRO-Designed-Photographers-Designers/dp/B00UBSL31Q?tag=ttmus-20
Since the Artist 16 pro is battery based, will the battery die out? Or is the battery recharged by the cable? If the battery does die out however, is there a way to replace (not using the second pen of course)?
Question: How does the color/contrast/brightness of the 16" version compare to the 22" one? Would you say they are alike? I currently use a high quality main screen with a regular wacom tablet, but I would like to replace it with something to draw directly on. My biggest concern is that the screen quality might be too disappointing to use it as main tablet, even after calibration (I use a Spider 5, too, btw). A little post-processing is to be expected, but it shouldn't be completely off.
If you have a colour calibrator like the Spyder, it's going to be easy to calibrate. The screen is an IPS panel so colour reproduction is alright, but definitely won't compare to typical IPS models out there. Colours are good after calibration, however I was only able to get 96% sRGB readout. Check out my text review if you haven't. www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-digitizer-monitor
I feel that the colours on the 22-inch is slightly better. But I can't confirm since I don't have the two to compare side by side anymore. Here's the review of the XP Pen 22 www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-2-xp-pen-artist-22hd-pen-digitizer-monitor
i got the tablet earlier today but the pen/stylus isnt working is there a setting to fix that or does the pen require batteries ? i have all the cords plugged in correctly and i installed the programs so im not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?
+WarriorPotato03 First, you need to install the driver. I can’t remember if the tablet needs to be connect before you install drivers, or after. But try either ways. The pen is battery powered and has to be charged with the cable provided.
I am hoping you can help me answer this. Is it possible to use Final Cut Pro with this Tablet since I have a very bad Carpal tunnel Syndrome any mouse (regular or ergonomic) its just so painful so was thinking if this might help me. I used my friends Wacom it works and its much more easier on my wrist, it is soo expensive. Thanks.
Does this display support left-handed artists? I noticed the logo on the bottom, the shortcut keys, and stand positioning all seem to only favor right-handed usage.
Thanks for the reply. That was my only concern. I'm definitely considering this display now. Your reviews are a great help, keep up the fantastic work!
Hi, i just bought this device based on your recommendation and wanted to ask you a question. At the top edge on the glass screen, does the screen pop out a little? (trace your finger around the edge of the screen). I'm not sure if that's normal because of the heat or because my unit is slightly defective.
Thank you for the reply. If that's the case, then I suppose I think I will return the unit since one of the pen is also not working. This is what it looks like: imgur.com/a/ukoAj (you can zoom in more to see more closely). That's definitely not supposed to happen right?
I recently bought the Cintiq Pro 16, and it currently has a bit of wavy lines when drawing diagonal lines slowly. Which affects me cuz I draw slow sometimes. Does the XP Pen have any jitter or wavy lines? I'm not sure if I should just wait for a driver update or possibly take it back and and try a different product.
so i am really interested in buying one of these but i read a lot of negativ reviews about the screen protection :/ Is there some kind of screen protection from other companys that fit? I only find one for the Artist22 not the 16 version maybe you guys can help me with this problem :)
+David Allrich Actually you don't really need screen protection. But some people like to get the matte one for the textured surface that feels better to draw on. You can search Amazon or this company called Photodon.
I'm far from being an expert, but after spending a few days doing research on Cintiq HD, Cintiq Pro and Huions, this Artist16 appears to be the best bang for the buck for pen perf and resolution. For a hobbyist like me, I also can't justify $1500 for a Cintiq Pro display which is probably the best you can buy. I would spend that money on a integrated computer however and maybe down the road Surface, iPad, or Dell Canvas might get better after a few revisions but they are not there yet.
I think you can check out XP Pen Artist 16 or 22 www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-digitizer-monitor www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-22hd-pen-display-monitor-ips 16 is a good size, unless you want a larger screen.
Great review. I'm looking for a less expensive alternative for an iPad Pro which cost around Australian $500+ more for the 10.1" version and $300+ more for the 15.6" version. Will it work well with a Macbook Air?
I have an Artist display 16 pro and I cant get the drivers to recognize the device on windows. it says "Can't detect the tablet, please plug it into then open the driver again" anyone have any advice? please, thanks!
Thank you so much for this review, I'm hesitating about buying this tablet just because maybe the build quality. I've heard that after sometime some tablets have screen problems, are this unfunded arguments or should I just trust and buy this?
Teoh Yi Chie I looked for the distributor here in Colombia and they offer a 1 year warranty. And I've found many positive reviews so I'll give a try, thank you again, your channel is very useful.
hello! wanted to say thank you for making a video on the Wacom Intuos Art! the video was a long time ago but it helped me in deciding to buy the tablet! thanks again!
This is a good review! but, I want to ask.. which one better between XP-Pen artist 16, Ugee HK1560, or Artisul D13? I can't decide which one I must buy..
which one do you think I should go for the xp pen artist 16 or the Huion kamvas 156 hd v2. And which one is better the xp pen artist 16 or the xp pen 15.6 with the free battery stylus?
+Badmusic4people I've not used that Huion pen display before. As for pen with or without battery... Their functionality is the same. I don't have problem using pens with battery also because their battery life is great. Ultimately it will come down to the design of the screen. The new XP Pen 15.6 is thinner, and it my case is better because I don't have table space.
Thanks for your in-depth review! How does the screen feel in relation to using the stylus on the screen? When I use my bamboo pen on my ipad mini, it feels really weird because of the glass and I am wondering if the screen feels somewhat matte or just slippery glass..
Hello, I love your channel. Thank you for all the review work you're doing! Sorry if the comment here is out of place, I remember reading about protection foils for these kinds of displays, you also included a website where to order them, but I can't find it anymore... I've bougt huion 185 recently and although the tablet is good, the protection foil sucks so I have to get a new one, but since huion doesn't offer other types of foils, I need another one. Was thinking about those for wacom cintiq, but I'm not sure if those would workd..
Somehow I got a notification about your answer, but I can't see it @-@ . I don't like it to draw on that clean surface and found it better do draw on the protection foil, since there's a more paper-like feeling... but the screen protector from huion doesn't stick with the surface like the wacom ones, it is sticked onto the surface, and won't stick anymore after some months anyways...
I deleted my original comment because I wanted to write something different, but now I can't remember what I want to write. Anyway, for screen protector, you can check out www.photodon.com/ Or research on Amazon. Pasting large piece of screen protector is not easy! I hate those air bubbles beneath.
I was thinking about getting this tablet, or a cintiq 13HD(Again - last broke!) , or cintiq pro. I was curious which one do you think would be best? And also does this tablet support pen tilt?
Thank you for answering back so fast. Im not 100% sure how no pen tilt will affect my art, but i have high interest in this tablet. Support was kinda off when i had issues with my cintiq 13HD. I do have one final question, would you personally consider this an upgrade from cintiq 13HD?
+Antidoto Perfetto This is actually a monitor so you cannot connect a monitor to another monitor. So you have to connect two monitors to the computer instead, and the computer will assign the proper resolution for each monitor.
+Antidoto Perfetto Should be no problem. You can use one or both screen and the resolution will be set automatically or you can choose the resolution you want.
I don't have ranking. Each display has its own pros and cons that suit people who have different preferences. Good brands to look out for are Wacom, Huion, XP Pen and Artisul.
You can make as big as your computer can let you. Usually A4 size at 300 DPI resolution is very manageable on a computer with 8GB RAM. If you go larger, you need a computer with better specs.
I don't know of any good software that has good watercolour effects. I'm using an app called Tayasui Sketches Pro and it has some nice watercolour effects. You can check online for its review.
The very best of the bunch is in my opinion, Rebelle. It simulates the flow and blend of watercolour beautifully with control of how the paint can be spread using a wind type direction. Here's the link; www.escapemotions.com/products/rebelle/
Teoh Yi Chie I really really hope that you get one because i watched all your vids on drawing tablets ;-; they are really good reviews. You are the only artist who really talks in detail about the draw experience
Parallax is not a big issue. The software correction removes that quite well. The Artist 16 has a larger screen and is cheaper so it gets my vote. Drawing functionality is not too different. You can check out more reviews on Amazon amzn.to/2p9oxXu
I've never owned a drawing tablet and was wondering, does the tablet NEED to be hooked up to a PC? I'm interested in this product but when reading a review it stated that it NEEDS to be hooked up. Is it impossible to use without a PC?
hi... im looking to buy my first monitor drawing tablet... between huion and xp-pen.. which one you think its better... and for the driver and support which one you think its better... Thanks b4
hi.. thanks for reply and suggestion... i've decided to try bought the huion 191... cannot refused the 19" size ... and i had some bad experience with xp-pen driver before... it s been 3 days, and it works perfect for me :D
Can I get procreate here??? Is this windows or hp or what? Can you do a tutorial on calibrating colors without that thing??? Sorry for the ignorance :( I planned on getting an iPad but it’s too expensive
+Ximena Vasquez Procreate only works on iPad. You probably don't need to calibrate this if this is your first monitor, or if you did not calibrate your previous monitor.
+Nino Svimonishvili I'm not sure how to do it without a calibrator. You will probably need some sort of reference to compare against. That is what the calibrator is doing.
Just watching this video, I've never used a display like this before. It looks as though you are moving the 'page' in Photoshop with the side of your hand... is this the case? Edit: Actually after watching another review would I be correct in thinking you're using one of the express keys to use the hand tool in PS? Also, could you tell me how good the calibration software is with this? I've heard some people some people saying the parallax is pretty bad, but I'm not sure they ever calibrated correctly. Thanks :D
+Jamie Dynan I am moving the canvas with keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard is just outside the video. Calibration works fine. It removes most of the parallax. However, depending on where your head is, sometimes there will still be slight parallax. Not really a big deal. You will still see the hovering cursor when the pen is near the screen.
Teoh Yi Chie OK thanks for replying so quickly. Just to clarify, are you pressing the shortcut with one hand and moving the image with the other, or is the shortcut key actually moving the image?
It's almost the same exact copy of my Ugee tablet, except it has some shortcuts. Same stylus, cables, penholder, same screen size... The back is exactly the same. lol
Hi Teoh, Thank you for this review, this is the best so far! I have a stupid question...as I see you didn't attach any pc or laptop to it, so can I use without them? I tried to find information about it, but I only found half answers. Thank you for the reply :)
+KisharoDragonwings Try installing Wacom Intuos driver also. Hopefully there is no conflict. If you are using Windows tablet computers, you need to install Wintab driver.
not sure if the tablet itself was faulty. I tried windows and a relatively new Apple computer. Both experienced driver issues, and for some reason the display would freeze. My computer didn't freeze, it was the pen display. Also the calibration settings weren't very good, and the tablet's menu was always partially cropped. Even when I moved the menu around, part of it was always missing. I tried the 22hd, and sent it back within 2 days.
+Crazy Dónut I did not keep track of the battery life. Anyway, there are two pens so you can charge them and you will always have a pen to use even if the battery for one runs out.
They are both good. Just choose base on size. Check out my pros and cons comparison at www.parkablogs.com/picture/artist-review-artisul-d13-pen-digitizer-display-sketch-pad www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-digitizer-monitor I may prefer Artisul more because of the non glossy screen.
Teoh Yi Chie Thank you for your early answer! I am checking your website! One more question: In general, What tablet is the best alternative of wacom in your opinion?
The comparison price between artisul d13 and xp pen 16 isnt much, what about their compability on zbrush, mangastudio 5, corel painter and how about the rotation/tilt sensitivity?
You say that you got great Adobe RGB results the more you calibrated it. Over on Xp-Pen's page they say they get 72% RGB why do you think they got less than you? Are your results correct, or do they need to calibrate more? Cheers dude
My english writing sklis are not perfect, but I think that is understandable. I have Imac (late 2015), macOS Sierra and I have the same problem as Yi Chie, only my is little bit more expensive because I dont have calibration equipment. So, you need to count on the potential investment od +100 euros.
teoh , Hello friends, I need information .. I'm in Brazil, here wacom dominates..but it's high value, it's almost 3+ ... very expensive abusive .. I want advice for another alternative, I'm glad to know that There are other alternatives with you ... I am artistic design .. which do you recommend me ..?
you have the best art tech reviews on YT
+Omegawerewolfx Thanks. I try my best 😁
They have now a new 22" model: Artist 22E, this has buttons on both sides and the cable management is now on the side of the display (previous model was on the buttom).
It would be great if you could test this new model: XP-Pen Artist 22E to see what all the improvements are compared with the older model.
yeah, if they send him a new one.
Artist 16 is newer than the 22E.
Thank you Teoh! Was really waiting for this review and as always your reviews are so conclusive and in depth!
+201katara Thanks 😁
your reviews are literally the best on youtube. I'm serious :)
Thanks. My goal is to make sure people know exactly what they are buying. 😁
I just ordered the Huion new 1060 because of your positive review of it. thanks.
This looks like the perfect size and is actually realistic for me budget wise...might have to get it!
+Sean Paints If you are getting it from Amazon, do so through my affiliate to support my channel. I earn some commission at no extra cost to you 😁
Hey Teoh, thanks for reminding me, i forgot you do that. If i do ill be sure to! I really appreciate all the work you do!
Thanks :-)
Definitely the most in depth and helpful review for this product
Such a detailed review! I like how you test it in multiple programs
I wish xp pen would send things to me too😁
you need 64k subs for that x)
You could email them but you need to review it
I currently draw on my bed so this is definitely a tablet I'll buy as a starting point in drawing on a screen, I can't really bother to buy the 22 inch one (or Huion's GT tablets) due to the space of my work area.
I frequent your website and I have to say that your reviews are very reliable!
You deserve more subscribers and views and stuff
+Aryan G Thanks. 😁 Help share my videos with you friends.
Yeah of course
just make sure you stay healthy and that you're making enough to sustain yourself
Can you map the express key to ctrl/alt/shift? So you don’t need to use keyboard anymore.
YOu can
Excellent Reviewer!! Covers the major information you want to know, and is very clear which is important and appreciated. Good Job!! Thanks & Keep It Up!

Awesome! thank you for the reply and link will check it out! :) Keep up the good work!
Which one whould you prefer this one or the wacom cintic 13 hd?
Can the stand be unscrewed and put on upside down for left-handed illustrators like myself? It appears to have a screen rotation option. Thanks for any info on this.
+Michael Sheeler Not sure about unscrewing but the screws are visible and looks like it is VESA-mountable. Ask XP-Pen just to be sure.

A black strip in the middle appeared on my screen after 2m I wanted to replace it but it was sold out so I got the refund :(
I will buy it again when I can because it worked really well.
Blue Arbor Art mine took 4 months no one should buy this product it’s a complete rip off
Teoh Yi Chie they never respond their tech support doesn’t exist
looks like a good base for a monitor tablet was the stand extra or included
How does the color calibrator work? the spider pro? Im thinking of getting this one but I dont like the color calibration issue
+Omar Gould It's Spyder 5 Pro. The calibrator will flash several colours on the screen and read the colours, then it will adjust the monitor's colour profile to show accurate colours. Since the Artist 16 pro is battery based, will the battery die out? Or is the battery recharged by the cable? If the battery does die out however, is there a way to replace (not using the second pen of course)?
If the pen is spoiled, just get a replacement. It's not that expensive.
Question is the battery life on XP-PEN the same as a laptop if you unplug it or dose it have to be plunged in at all times?
There is no battery. It's a monitor so you need to plug in all the time.
Could you please tell me how to customise the express keys? I use Krita as my art software.
Just open up the driver and set the keyboard shortcuts there.
Teoh Yi Chie can't I set them for software commands like new layer or undo or magic wand?
You can set any keyboard shortcut into the physical buttons.
Would you suggest the artisul d16 or xp pen 16 pro? Thanks
Question: How does the color/contrast/brightness of the 16" version compare to the 22" one? Would you say they are alike?

If you are using Mac, yes. This is just a monitor. Whether you can run Final Cut depends on your computer.
If anyone knows, the Ugee HK1560 has similar specs to the XP Pen Artist 16 but cost $100 less in Canada, which one should I get?
Please give me a response: If you had a large budget, would you go with Wacom Cintiq 13HD or XP-PEN 16 Artist? Thank you!
+Vinicius XP Pen 16 for the larger screen

is there any means of zooming in your art without using the key pad.
+Pedacomics There aren't since there are no physical shortcut buttons on the monitor.
the keypad is a definite must ?
Would you recommend this over the artisul d13 or vice versa? These are my two options at the moment for a cheap but good display tablet.
The Artisul D16 is more comfortable to work on because of the size and resolution.
awesome thank you so much! :)
How does it work the calibration on the tablet? I mean, using the calibrator. It's the same that calibrating a monitor?
+El rincon digital de Lan The calibrator is to remove parallax. It does work to a certain extend. It is not colour calibration.
Is it fine using this without connecting it to a computer? And without it is it possible to browse and download? I'm want it
This is a monitor so you have to connect to a computer.
I only have 1 HDMI and a normal DisplayPort ( no mini ) can I buy a extra adapter DisplayPort to HDMI and use it as second Monitor?
+Newtooon ) Yes you can
Thanks for your in-depth review! How does the screen feel in relation to using the stylus on the screen? When I use my bamboo pen on my ipad mini, it feels really weird because of the glass and I am wondering if the screen feels somewhat matte or just slippery glass..
+Helen Truong It is going to feel the same as you have felt since this is also a glossy screen.
Ah thanks for clarifying!
Anyway, for screen protector, you can check out www.photodon.com/
Or research on Amazon. Pasting large piece of screen protector is not easy! I hate those air bubbles beneath.
I was thinking about getting this tablet, or a cintiq 13HD(Again - last broke!) , or cintiq pro. I was curious which one do you think would be best? And also does this tablet support pen tilt?
+ーストレ The 16 inch is the better size to work on. But it does not support tilt.
Thank you for answering back so fast. Im not 100% sure how no pen tilt will affect my art, but i have high interest in this tablet. Support was kinda off when i had issues with my cintiq 13HD.
I do have one final question, would you personally consider this an upgrade from cintiq 13HD?
ーストレ It is an upgrade in terms of size. And drawing functionality is good. So I guess it is worth the money.
Will it be a problem if I connect the tablet to a 4K monitor if the tablet has only a FHD resolution ? Thnx !
+Antidoto Perfetto This is actually a monitor so you cannot connect a monitor to another monitor. So you have to connect two monitors to the computer instead, and the computer will assign the proper resolution for each monitor.
Teoh Yi Chie sorry, what I meant is that I have a 4K notebook that will be connected to the xp-pen 16 , will it give problems ?
+Antidoto Perfetto Should be no problem. You can use one or both screen and the resolution will be set automatically or you can choose the resolution you want.
Do you have a ranking on display pen tablets?
I don't have ranking. Each display has its own pros and cons that suit people who have different preferences. Good brands to look out for are Wacom, Huion, XP Pen and Artisul.
Would you recommend this or ARTISUL D16 more ?
Maybe XP Pen at the moment.
So I wanna know how big art you can make with it?
Does it relate to app (or whatever you using to draw with) what are you using?
You can make as big as your computer can let you. Usually A4 size at 300 DPI resolution is very manageable on a computer with 8GB RAM. If you go larger, you need a computer with better specs.
Okay. Thnx!
Can you suggest a software that can simulate watercolor effect ( wet on dry, wet on wet ) on mac? I use wacom tablet. Thanks
I don't know of any good software that has good watercolour effects. I'm using an app called Tayasui Sketches Pro and it has some nice watercolour effects. You can check online for its review.
Thanks!
Alain F. Maybe Krita? It is a very good program you can also load you watercolor brushes on other Websites! :)
The very best of the bunch is in my opinion, Rebelle. It simulates the flow and blend of watercolour beautifully with control of how the paint can be spread using a wind type direction. Here's the link; www.escapemotions.com/products/rebelle/
damnit too late i already got an Artistul d13...i guess it won't hurt to get a back up Display tablet
Artisul D13 is good too. Same resolution. Just that physical size is different.
my computer is all in one so everything is in the monitor, what can I use to give it an HDMI port because mine doesn’t have one.
+Pikachunium Z Depends on what graphics port you have on your computer. You will need to get a HDMI adapter to that port.
I hope that you can review the miix 720, they claim that miix 720 has 4k pressure sensitivity. Are you soon gonna try it?
+Luna The review will depend on whether I can get a review unit from Lenovo.
Teoh Yi Chie I really really hope that you get one because i watched all your vids on drawing tablets ;-; they are really good reviews. You are the only artist who really talks in detail about the draw experience
Is the parallax noticable? Compared to Cintiq 13HD which one would you prefer?? There's a lot of useful info in this video though, thanks!
Parallax is not a big issue. The software correction removes that quite well. The Artist 16 has a larger screen and is cheaper so it gets my vote. Drawing functionality is not too different. You can check out more reviews on Amazon amzn.to/2p9oxXu
Teoh Yi Chie i'm sorry
but what kind the software is?
I've never owned a drawing tablet and was wondering, does the tablet NEED to be hooked up to a PC? I'm interested in this product but when reading a review it stated that it NEEDS to be hooked up. Is it impossible to use without a PC?
+Martang&&Mommy It's a monitor essentially, so you need to connect to a computer.
And another question:
How mutch room does artist -16 take from your computer? Like 200GB or more?
+GlitchGirlMadli Think of this as a monitor. It does not take up storage space on computer, except for space on your table.
hi... im looking to buy my first monitor drawing tablet... between huion and xp-pen.. which one you think its better... and for the driver and support which one you think its better... Thanks b4
in my local store i can get huion gt-191 or xp pen 16 in same price range... my only concern is compatibility for my windows 10 and durability...
I'll probably go for the XP Pen 16. Check out my text review at www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-digitizer-monitor
Or check out XP Pen Artist 15.6. www.parkablogs.com/content/review-xp-pen-artist-156-pen-display
hi.. thanks for reply and suggestion... i've decided to try bought the huion 191... cannot refused the 19" size ... and i had some bad experience with xp-pen driver before... it s been 3 days, and it works perfect for me :D
My mouth is drooling with rainbows.
This is probably a dumb question, but do you know how to ship this to Singapore? Seems like a great product!
+Buttery Icarus You've got to ask XP Pen.
Would you recommend this one or ugee 21 inch one
Functionality is quite similar. Go for the one that you can fit on your table space.
When I shut down my laptop, do I have to turn off the tablet separately?
+mmylinh8 The monitor will go into standby mode, like most monitors. You can either turn it off or not after that. Up to you.
Can I get procreate here??? Is this windows or hp or what? Can you do a tutorial on calibrating colors without that thing??? Sorry for the ignorance :( I planned on getting an iPad but it’s too expensive
+Ximena Vasquez Procreate only works on iPad. You probably don't need to calibrate this if this is your first monitor, or if you did not calibrate your previous monitor.
do you know how to correct colors without spyder?I have windows but am afraid about inacurate colors
+Nino Svimonishvili I'm not sure how to do it without a calibrator. You will probably need some sort of reference to compare against. That is what the calibrator is doing.
thanks for a quick reply. xp pen said you can do it from control panel, i never had a second monitor so its new for me:D
+Nino Svimonishvili Maybe search UA-cam for calibration tutorial?
on xp pen website there is a tutorial with an amd catalyst control center so I'll try searching that. thanks ^^
Did it work? My computer has a nvidia graphics card. How can i calibrate?
Good video as always!
what is Better, this one or the Huion 156hd v2?
They should be quite similar. So either is fine.
Is it the Artist 16 PRO model? thanks a lot :)
It's not
Just watching this video, I've never used a display like this before.
The back is exactly the same. lol
+lululock71-DeviantArt Probably from the same factory but pasted with different brands.
Hi Teoh, Thank you for this review, this is the best so far! I have a stupid question...as I see you didn't attach any pc or laptop to it, so can I use without them? I tried to find information about it, but I only found half answers. Thank you for the reply :)
I can't get pen pressure to work with photoshop. It works in the xp pen tablet setting but not in CC 2018... UGH!!!!
+KisharoDragonwings Try installing Wacom Intuos driver also. Hopefully there is no conflict. If you are using Windows tablet computers, you need to install Wintab driver.
Just wanted to ask:
Is artist 16 good for good art?
Can you do animations with it?
Should I buy artist 16 or Ipad pro?
+GlitchGirlMadli Depends on the software you use. If the software runs on computer, get Artist 16.
What drawing tablet can I use without the use of any desktop or laptop?
iPad Pro, iPad 2018, Surface Pro, Surface Book, Wacom MobileStudio Pro, Samsung Tab S3
What do the buttons do on the side of the pen?
You can configure them to be mouse buttons, or some keyboard shortcut.
Thanks for the vid. (I've had many issues with this display and brand)
What happened? What problems do you have? Using Windows?
not sure if the tablet itself was faulty.
Probably something wrong with the monitor.
Teoh Yi Chie I thought that too. The company was courteous and gave me a full refund.
can the tablet connect to the internet just like a laptop?
It can't. This is a monitor so you need to connect to a computer to use it.
how many hours can you use the tablet? / how many hours can you use the pen?
how many hours do you charge the pen and the tablet?
+Crazy Dónut I did not keep track of the battery life. Anyway, there are two pens so you can charge them and you will always have a pen to use even if the battery for one runs out.
thanks!
Do you prefer XP Pen Artist 16 or Artisul D13? Please, help me choosing. I am undecided!
They are both good. Just choose base on size. Check out my pros and cons comparison at
www.parkablogs.com/picture/artist-review-artisul-d13-pen-digitizer-display-sketch-pad
www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-digitizer-monitor
I may prefer Artisul more because of the non glossy screen.
Teoh Yi Chie Thank you for your early answer! I am checking your website!
One more question: In general, What tablet is the best alternative of wacom in your opinion?
+BTS-Butterfly I like non glossy and reflective screens so I prefer Artisul.
Can you take the stand off that is attached to it?
Yes you can. See this review www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-2-xp-pen-artist-16-pen-display
Teoh Yi Chie ok thank you!!!
When you get a product to review, do you have to return them?
+Kaywood Parsons Sometimes I get to keep (the cheaper items usually) and sometimes I have to return. Some of the items are borrowed from my friends.
cool
who is the best rival of wacom (drawing tablet with monitor or without monitor) ?
XP Pen and Artisul are the ones I've used before and they are quite good. They come in different sizes, 10, 13, 15.6, 22.
The comparison price between artisul d13 and xp pen 16 isnt much, what about their compability on zbrush, mangastudio 5, corel painter and how about the rotation/tilt sensitivity?
Do you think Huion GT 191 is more better, or XP-pen 16
is more better?
I feel GT191 has slightly better drawing performance. Lines are slightly smoother. XP Pen is also very good but the GT191 is just slightly better.
how are the colors compared to an Ipad pro or Surface Pro 4 ?
+E.777.E The iPad Pro and Surface Pro would have slightly better colours.
Thanks for the answer, any chance you're gonna review the new Artisul Tablets ? The 16 or 21 inch versions ? That just came out
Do you need a laptop or desk top to operate at all times?
+xASSASSINCE5x This needs to be connected to computer when in use. Think of it as a monitor rather than a tablet
Teoh Yi Chie ok gotcha thanks a lot keep up the amazing reviews!
Does it work well with Paint Tool Sai and Fire Alpaca
+CherryTBomb I did not try Paint Tool Sai, but Fire Alpaca (Medibang Paint Pro) works fine.
Teoh Yi Chie ok thanks!
What is the weight of this tablet? Can't find info on that.
Inkheart he had an unboxing video. He mentioned it there if im not mistaken
Does this need to be connected to your laptop all the time?
Curse10 yes
You say that you got great Adobe RGB results the more you calibrated it. Over on Xp-Pen's page they say they get 72% RGB why do you think they got less than you? Are your results correct, or do they need to calibrate more? Cheers dude
It's sRGB at 96%. Adobe RGB will be much lower.
Ah thank you Teoh that makes sense. Cheers
Does this support touch gestures?
+bogart hunter Not touch gestures
Thank you for sharing it very great detailed review!. I learn a lot from your video :)
I'm glad you find the review helpful. \ (•◡•) /
Do you have a review of " How to adjust the brush in Photoshop CS5 " I'm try to learn drawing and just bought X Pen 16 Thank you :)
Do you have to return them when your done reviewing them?
+Warpath 720 Some I have to return, some I get to keep (usually I give away in giveaway contests)
Teoh Yi Chie awesome
no scolly scroll?
My english writing sklis are not perfect, but I think that is understandable. I have Imac (late 2015), macOS Sierra and I have the same problem as Yi Chie, only my is little bit more expensive because I dont have calibration equipment. So, you need to count on the potential investment od +100 euros.
It's going to be a bit troublesome if the colours do not appear right the first time.
does work in affinity designer?
Affinity Designer works on Mac
I mean does the graphic tablet work in Affinity designer
It works with Affinity Designer with pressure sensitivity
teoh , Hello friends, I need information .. I'm in Brazil, here wacom dominates..but it's high value, it's almost 3+ ... very expensive abusive .. I want advice for another alternative, I'm glad to know that There are other alternatives with you ... I am artistic design .. which do you recommend me ..?
+Luiz Tomazi XP Pen, Artisul or Ugee. You can research those.
