  • Edit - changed boulder to nodule in title, more
    appropriate.
I start this video out with a small exploration of my new activity area, where I'll be spending quite a bit of time this year. It's a bit long, but in this video I spall out the rest of the first hornstone boulder. It didn't go perfectly, but it did go quite well. I got a bunch of nice large flakes and a biface with a lot of character from the centre of the core. I tried out a couple new things in this video, taking new kinds of shots and editing them together in a quiet narrative, filled with birdsong and the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. It was a great day, can't wait to do more out there.

Thanks very much. I prefer doing and watching the large spalling too, seems like those are the more popular videos on here. I’ll try to do some more soon.

Are you one of those guys who can't get the rash from poison ivy? It looked like when you first went into the wooded area it was everywhere! If so and that was me, I'd have it from head to toe lol!

I’ve never had a reaction to it so I’m pretty sure I’m at least insensitive to it. I thought most of the vine in there is Virginia creeper or something, but I’m sure there’s some poison ivy or oak mixed in there somewhere!

@@prehistoricliving I could be wrong, but I was trying to pause the video to check but it wasn't real clear. When I was growing up I was always in the hills running around and every summer I would be covered in poison ivy lol.

When I’m out there this weekend I’ll give it a closer look and let you know. Thanks for keeping an eye out!
