Thank you for your instructional videos. I have learned so much from watching your videos. All is explained very well I would like to learn about the angles you have talked about. Also your heat treating methods. Thanks
Your skills are legendary sir. I've been trying to steer away from indirect percusion for I just don't find it as enjoyable as good ole direct. This video helps very much.
Love ur boppers. Made me sum they are everywhere u said they were.patton those that's ur great idea.cudos to you.love u luv ur channel. Keep on keeping on.👍🤗
Thank you VERY much for sharing your techniques & tools at the Brown Bear knap in. I’m just getting started but really helped me understand how to make a flake. Going to make some of your style boppers and put your lessons to use. Thanks again.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the login password. I love any help you can offer me
@Mitchell Rocky thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Mitchell Rocky HOLY **** IT ACTUALLY WORKED! I just got access to my IG account details within about 40 mins by using the site. Had to pay 15 $ but definitely worth the money :O Thanks so much, you really help me out!
So it seems using a proportionately large bopper helps, but you'd probably have to be extra careful not to impart too much force/shock into such a small piece. Great demo, thanks!
Thanks verry helpful been doing a little knaping here and their sinse the 80s but never had any instruction read a one page explanation about it and destroyed some rock but managed to make nice pieces pressure flaking now I hope to make those thin flakes if I can find some rock what state do you live?
Maybe I can not see the angle correctly but it appears the nipple you make is higher then the flake you are running? It was my understanding the nipple should be just below the center of the flake being removed? Confused
Remember from the start of the video I kind of formed a edge all around pretty much in the center plane. So at least at the start of the video most of the nipples are actually very close to the center - not above. Knapping for 43 years helps also!
I watch a lot of flint napping videos, and I got to say that I like your channel by far the best, so I give you a genuine Thank you, sir!
Thank you so much for your support!
Not only do I wish I had your knapping abilities, but your teaching ability. So good.
Thanks so much for your support! Just never give up. I took many breaks but have been working at it for over 42 years. Soon time to quit...
@@EDBO23 sounds like you're just getting started then. Don't be a quitter! 😉
The best instructional flint knapping video of all.....Thanks.
I never understood the term “isolated platform” before but you showed it slowly and precisely I thank you so much!
This is the best teaching video by far for me.
Thank you for watching!
Eddy, This is your best video ever. Please post more videos soon. Big fan here.
As experienced as you are I love the surprise when the flake goes edge-to-edge. Just shows every day is a school day.
As usual, great quality video.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!

You are so welcome. I wish you a wonderful journey in knapping!
Thanks for another great video, the camera angle you use on your videos has really helped me, I can see the direction you're hitting .

@Franco Bryant You are welcome :D
Very nice video. Will for sure try out try this method.

Remember the caps are hollow. No lead. Force is controlled more by swing speed. Thanks for watching!

I have to buy all my rock. My favorite right now is heat treated Buffalo River chert from Tennessee and I like flint ridge flint alot.
Impressive skills
It looks like you are using a 1 1/2 inch cap on a long pvc handle .....would the short 4-5 inch bopper with 1 1/2 caps on both sides work as well ?
I don't really like caps on both ends. I tried that in the hammer videos. 6 to 8 inches for handles is best. See bopper construction video. Thanks
Hope everything is well with u an family in these trying times.😷
Mr. Eddie, what state are you in? Also, do you get your materials that you work with, or go out and collect it?
I am in Alabama now but I did collect rocks in Mississippi years ago
@@EDBO23are u in north alabama?
Yes
@@EDBO23 I have made me some of the unweighted boppers that you use and i really like them. Really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from you.
Alabama. Mostly buy rock at knapins. Collected ms gravel years ago and still working some of that.
Where can one buy some Buffalo and Georgetown
Buffalo river is pretty rare lately. Georgetown is expensive but available from many online flintknapping websites
@@EDBO23 would you be willing to sell a 6-8” Buffalo biface
@@abeserna2277 sorry, I don't do any selling. Thank you for watching !
@@EDBO23 ok no problem ty for the videos you’re a great instructor
Is that Keokuk Or Burlington
Chert from Tennessee I believe

See if you can find Waldorf's book. The art of flint knapping. It will help alot
It looks like sometimes you get away with hitting a nipple above the center line/plane: is that just camera distortion or is that just... skill?
Remember from the start of the video I kind of formed a edge all around pretty much in the center plane. So at least at the start of the video most of the nipples are actually very close to the center - not above. Knapping for 43 years helps also!
@@EDBO23 Thank you for the clarification - so it is like this: physics plus skills work miracles. :) Thanks!
