Okay I’m going to get saying this but let it out lol. The New 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe has really nice road presence. Yes it’s unorthodox for BMW’s to look so different, but this will be a positive indication of where BMW is going. Them being FWD as standard isn’t bad at all for the normal buyer who wants a vehicle with such pedigree and a badge. The cars from BMW that us enthustiasts will want to buy anyway are mostly the M Cars. We will all grow to like them. I’m already fond. Brilliant review as always. Love this channel
Had one as a courtesy car a few months back and had a ton of fun with it, was thinking of getting one but wasn't too sure, this week I remembered how much I enjoyed driving it so I've purchased one and collect it thursday 😂
nice review of the car, liked it, I'm in the process of ordering one :) what baffles me is the ending, why an outdoor pool in the UK ? (unless its heated) do you ever use it ? and if you do, is that more than 1-2 days per year in the very peak of the "summer" ? Summer in the UK lol :P
Seems to be getting a fair bit of hate, but I really like it. Put the steering wheel on the proper side, and I'll take one. :) Cheers from Vancouver, Canada.
It looks far better in that colour than it does in duller shades. Shame it isn't RWD, 6 cylinder and with a ZF8 gearbox, it would be far more exciting to drive then.
I agree the front end looks a bit better in this video than the press release but that is not saying much. The colour is probably helping as it is still too fussy, the grilles are too big and it looks ill proportioned. My word though, the rear end is as bad as the press images. Looks like it has been in a shunt!
Hmm... I'm not sure about open that boot after it has been raining, looks like all the water will dribble into the boot and as for the looks, not keen, seen the hatchback in the flesh must admit it looks better than in pictures 👍
i believe it is actually based on the X2 not 1 series, just compare the design / look of the rear of X2 and this M235 and its virtually the same. Its a a squished down X2, thats why the rear of the car looks out of proportion.
Just looks so unappealing to my eyes - dumpy, fussy and ill-proportioned. The Mercedes CLA is simply in another stratosphere for styling - far far classier in every respect.
Designers must have had some sleepless nights with this car - like each night they thought - where can i add more lines, protrusions and extra design cues to make it even uglier
@@BOTBreviews not in terms of what you said. Think the roofline and front end is all wrong. However I'm a lover of old BMW's so wont approve of most things😂😂😂
Pritesh Patel you’re right it’s a weird looking car. To me the belt line is way too high, especially at the back... makes the 19 inch wheels look tiny. Won’t be going to any BMW dealerships any time soon so my mind is unlikely to be changed 😉

I COMPLETELY agree: go, see it in person! I also actually HATED it from the press photos and here I am considering it as my next car for 2021.
Definetly looks better on video than on the pictures!
You can never go wrong with BMW
Except after the warranty period runs out ;)
I have a 2021 M235 and i enjoy it

Thanks so much! Agree that 99% of owners of the old 1-Series didn’t know that it was RWD. 😁👍
@@BOTBreviews Looking forward to the next review
This car is really all around! Need to go for a test drive to see it!
100% - Looked hideous in the photos but absolutely stunning in the showroom. Beats a lot of awesome cars in that room LOL

Unfortunately it’s not a hatch like the 4 series GC!
You get them in Canada with the steering wheel on the proper side ;)
I like the looks
I want to see the data on those 40 ducks!!!!
Nicely done Tim and thanks for 'influencing' Quim....now he wants your trainers!
😁👍
7:48 I know that bit of road! Stretch from lechlade to faringdon is a great road ;)
My m235i GC has a terrible ride and the tyre noise on the motorway is horrendous. 19”
Thank you Mr. "Baldland"! Wish you and your familly health! Stay safe!
Thanks! 😁👍
Do the rear seats fold?
Is the car so bumby to ride, or is it the road 11:53
what color car on video ?
Snapper rocks ?
Correct 👍
Been offered this car for 15k lease over four years. Seems like a decent offer 🤔
Averaging out at just over £300/m?! Sign me up!

It just doesn’t come across in pictures or video, I urge you to take a look at one in the metal, it’s far better 👍
@@BOTBreviews I'll look out for one and see. Will still stick to my 5.7 V8 for now 😂💪
Good idea - there’s no replacement for displacement! 😁👍
German car brands now getting hard to fathom. Mercedes, Audi and BMW all so confusing, cluttered, overcrowded ranges. Less is more I think.
Merc has announced they are going to be rationalising their range in the coming years, I assume others will too. Just too many models.
40 large ducks? Is this an estimate or did you really try this out?
Hmm... I'm not sure about open that boot after it has been raining, looks like all the water will dribble into the boot and as for the looks, not keen, seen the hatchback in the flesh must admit it looks better than in pictures 👍
Nope, it's properly designed, they made specific channels to deal with the water, so you won't get a single drop in the boot.
Cant afford it...so getting the old inline 6 next week 😊
This is a nice Audi, and a decent BMW for those who never drive a proper inline 6
order one .. but now all is fucking delayed
NOW
Usb c apple people? Dont think so lad

Is an M235 really worth 15 grand more than a Veloster N? Highly doubtful!
looks like Mazda 3
Just looks so unappealing to my eyes - dumpy, fussy and ill-proportioned. The Mercedes CLA is simply in another stratosphere for styling - far far classier in every respect.
As I mentioned, I would definitely say it looks much better in the metal. But also agree, the CLA is a great looking car!
Designers must have had some sleepless nights with this car - like each night they thought - where can i add more lines, protrusions and extra design cues to make it even uglier
All the best to you but... its just a MINI-Countryman. No BMW. Sad.
Looks awful and crap drivetrain and engine
BMW are going down the shitter
As I mentioned, it looks 100 times better in the metal. I do agree it’s a shame they’ve lost the i6 and RWD though.

“Crap drivetrain and engine”. You obviously never drove one of these.
@@benbos67 I havent and dont wish to. I have six cylinders and rear wheel drive so why would I?
If you're gonna have something premium badged, fast, accomplished and ugly as sin, you may as well buy a Model 3 for a few pennies more.
Interesting that you see Tesla as a premium badge! I would too, many would not though...
It looks so bloody awkward.
I’m a big fan of BMW, I’ve owned 7 of them. This one doesn’t do it for me, sorry. The wheels are the worst that I’ve seen on any BMW I’ve owned.
Nice trainers
Thanks 😁 - Tim
