We’re waiting to take delivery of our M235i. We were between the 330i x-drive and this. As single child family...this car for my wife as a daily was the smarter go due to size. The 3 felt great but this really surprised me, and as the main driver when we’re all together I imagine it’ll be a great joy on the quick weekend rounds. A well rounded small family car and the optioned black accents make it look quite well in person. I imagine the ecu tunes and aftermarket exhausts will be fairly established once the warranty ends too!
I have a single young child as well and I should have gotten this over the mini countryman. it’s safety and about the same price. and fully loaded like an m this is more affordable then a 330i.
I bought this exact model with different 19” wheels, but precisely because we are a small family who like to travel. It’s an amazing highway driving car, but I’m already planning a trade-in after 24 months of ownership. It got me out of my 10+ year old Mazda 3 MPS/Mazdaspeed3. I have a lot of back issues and driving a manual was becoming increasingly difficult but I still wanted to drive a fun, quick, and unique looking car. Snapper Rocks Blue is THE best color for this car as well.
Own this car in mineral grey and i think it looks stunning, it drives great too, theres a lot of haters for the m235i gran coupe but i enjoy driving it more than i did my fk8 i had before it.
That synthetic Golf R annoying sound coupled with the exterior design is not a looker, over bloated kidney grills and finally a four cylinder. Good to bhp braggers and 0-60 merchants, for me, the best BMW are in the past. The e86 is a keeper so is my money, excellent honest review Stef.
Gorgeous car, love it. Only thing that needs correcting is the drivers digital dash; looks poor and the rev counter is not increasing in the same direction as the speed gauge. Old school door lock buttons need to go.
@@StefABtv this segment has always been BMW. Beginning BMW 2002tt/2002 tti ,first to third gen BMW 3 serie...BMW have left some meat on the bone for mercedes benz and vwaudiskodaseat products.. But big BOSS BMW is back
I have to admit, when you said it was a Grand Coupé and opened the back, I was expecting it to be more of a hatchback and not a booted rear end. But then, the Series 4 Grand Coupé is the same, so what do I know? I think I'm getting mixed up with the Audis 🤔😕 BMW seem to have replicated all their model interiors. They're looking almost identical now. Which isn't a bad thing.
The rear looks too heavy for me in photo but the grill is a bit better than the one on the 1 series. Curious to see in person. Interior top class. Great job Stef, thank you!
Stef, BMW should have built a 4 door 2series based on the M2 platform, building into a 4 door M2, this would be the best approach into building a car that would replace the unfortunately. Bulged 3 series. The M2 platform is the best at BMW right now, imagine a 4 door M2C...
I should have gotten this instead of the mini countryman with no safety features. this is such a better value and slightly larger but 1,000 times safer. I saw this color the other day it’s very interesting. i’m hoping an early lease buyout to get into this, or the x2 or 330i. but this is the most affordable fully loaded bmw.
For me. Im a company car driver. Hear me out. When i pull up outside my Ceo's office, or my client or a new business prospects offices. Do i want a loud and boyish car thats quick...2 door, poor mpg, unprofessiona...no. Thats why the Gran coupe is perfect for me, its large, 5 doors, deep boot, comfier than most hot hatches if not all. Its not loud, it gets decent fuel returns up and down the M1 20,000 miles a year, it has plenty of tech and its a beautiful car in black. Then at the weekend i can have a little hoon around B roads and still have a decent weekend car that doesnt break the bank. Its also under 2.0 which is my company policy for company car driver and right now...there dirt cheap. It a very good balance/middle ground for the company car driver that has a background of wild cars but now needs to be a little bit more sensible.
Great video as per ! I feel a black one with all black detailing would make it look much better often with cars the colour can make a car , I could get over the looks it’s a good honest reliable car with decent specs for the average consumer !
Is this not a premium car (2.21) ? at 37k you'd hope it would be AND when I get my beemer I shall definitely ask the salesman to spec it with adaptive led suspension (9.25), awesome 🤣🤣
As allways Steff quality well informed video. You and Joe owning the new car model reviews. Fun but proffesional. I just wonder if BMW need this model they seem to be trying too hard to cover the complete market and diluting their brand strength and reputation in doing so.
I think its the big bulbous boot spoiler that makes the back end look ugly. Looking forward to the 4 Series coupe and my order will be placed on that rather than this. Love the latest generation revamped BMW interiors though, it was needed!
Nice video. I am looking at one for a Euro delivery program and it seems to be about the largest car in which I'd wish to navigate some of those medieval town streets. Did a 5 series Euro delivery and will never do that again. ;) As I get older, cars like this are more preferable than the regular M cars which offer heaps more performance that I can never explore even on a track. I think this cars hits all the right spots.
Stef, its not a first for them. They have made the 1 series and 2 series for some time now. I think the car looks ugly as hell. I would never buy one. BMW has lost its edge. They are fading and Mercedes might be doing worse, in my opinion. The designs are not fresh and not interesting.
Evening stef this looks like a Kia /Hyundai, its ugly and bland I don't know what bmw were thinking when someone signed this off. Who's going to buy this at it's ridiculous price, there's better cars out there even within the bmw line-up.
Simon, you are 100% correct! The Germans are resorting to making crap these days. I used only buy German cars, now I own an Alfa Romeo. So much more exciting to drive.
Expected it was a hatch then doh! its a coupe with 4 doors - want to like it but M2 for me please or even 220i 2 door - niche filler for USA I suppose however I do want to like it however yep no 💩
I'm lost on this car. Some say its ugly some say its not bad. But I think everybody should decide when they see it in real life
i’m unsure also. I think it has to have all the m packing trim. for the price and features it’s worth it. it’s just so hard to fine.
Its a good looking car i have one myself and looks great there are not much on the streets as they prefer the M135i so it makes it unique

My wife dailys this to drop our only kid off at school through the mountains and she loves it
Good looking, different and practical good for daily commute. Drives very nicely too
I like it. Interesting and different.
Have mine on order😁

Think this will hold its used price better than the M135i
Own this car in mineral grey and i think it looks stunning, it drives great too, theres a lot of haters for the m235i gran coupe but i enjoy driving it more than i did my fk8 i had before it.
Stunning, great design evolution from BMW!

I like the car nice ride, 4wd, lovely interior and got a bit of speed to it not as bad but still nothing close to the old generation
Good honest review ! Be nice to see an all black one with black grills and red leather 🤟🏼
Thanks mate

I love this one. Y its not a old school M Power drive feeling, bat its a nice Car. If you need M Power, you have to start with M3.
The rear looks too heavy for me in photo but the grill is a bit better than the one on the 1 series. Curious to see in person. Interior top class. Great job Stef, thank you!

4 door m2 c would be mega

If its 2 series grand coupe it has to be black shadow line

You’ve both got smile on your face so can’t be that bad
Can't decide between snapper rocks blue or storm bay grey help!
Blue for me
is it me or the little rear spoiler is identical to the Giulia Quadrifoglio's?
Vezio Emiliani I see what you mean
Yep
Great video as per ! I feel a black one with all black detailing would make it look much better often with cars the colour can make a car , I could get over the looks it’s a good honest reliable car with decent specs for the average consumer !
i hope thats not a PSA Peaugeot engine as they will burn oil from 40k miles!

Agree interiors are really nice
Gran coupe or the three door?
Give it to *MOTECH* 😎👍🏻
Indeed!
Looks more like x6 somehow.
The black grill makes it look like a Kia🤣
Its not as nice as it looked it was going to be going by auto express pics last year

Hi Stef, Nice video man. Nice to see that you are doing reviews on a lot of different cars lately, keep up the good work 👍
Jaco Van-Der-Walt thank you mate 🙌🙌
No pops and crackles :/
That looks like a bmw x6
Yeah the rear does

I love the blue exterior color on this car.
Unfortunately, it's only paired with a black interior - I hate black interiors!

Think it may to well in the US. They don’t get the 1 series so may buy into this
So tall..it's like Toyota Corolla
BMW have completely lost it recently.
Bullshit
Expected it was a hatch then doh! its a coupe with 4 doors - want to like it but M2 for me please or even 220i 2 door - niche filler for USA I suppose however I do want to like it however yep no 💩
It’s not a great looking car, the old M240i looks better and better by the day compared to this
Old one wath coupe ?
Hugly 🤣🤣
♥Stef ABtv
Saw it today in real life, the BMW is UAF (ugly as f@@k)
Stef I think the rear is pig ugly 👎🏿😩
It’s a bit marmite
