looking forward to full video. LUV engine also in cruze Gen1. They have a bad reputation. I've had reasonably good luck only a few repairs to keep it going.
@@speedkar99 yes I wait with anticipation. BTW, May I ask what do you think is the limit for the typical combustion engine? With proper servicing mine was starting to use oil & blow a bit of smoke at 320,000kms
@@axelfoley1768 I see that as I replied to this your comment is over two months old but I just saw it now. I think it really depends on the design. Some engines will last an extremely long time with negligible maintenance while other engines can be meticulously maintained and fall apart.

What a complete POS example of a wanna be car engine designed by GM! Do not buy any car with this engine! Especially if you live in the colder climates. If you live in the South, expect the timing chain to fail and bend the valves at around 120,000 miles if it makes it that far.
Which ecotec engine is it? I tore down a 2.2L ecotec engine from an old Chevy Cobalt for my engines class in college. This engine looks very similar to that 2.2L Chevy Cobalt but is a little too clean to be from a Chevy Cobalt as Chevy hasn't made the Cobalt for a long time.
Ecotec is originally from Opel Germany (was part of GM) and was called Family-2 engine. It’s used in variety of populat Opel car like Astra and Vectra. It’s then re-developed by Holden Australia who supplied to GM Daewoo in Korea. Holden increased the capacity to 2.2 liter both DOHC and SOHC. GM Brazil took it further to 2.4 liter based on the same base engine.
I borscoped and manually cleaned the piston tops in my 2017 Spark at 30k miles... completely carboned up. Checked again after the next oil change and they looked like they'd never been cleaned.
2,000 KM on a new GM engine? That thing has almost 50% life left in it!
jokes aside, these new ecotecs are pretty solid, just make sure you keep them well maintained with the right oil and dont let them overheat!

Going to guess it was in a crash and had the mounts torn off it.
It was crashed in the rear. I bought the engine and transmission for teardown!

Only 1200. So about 600 miles left.

It still probably burns oil
Yea the pistons were full of carbon
Bro, that's highly wear resistant carbon...😅
What would be the axial clearance of the crankshaft? If you could help me with this information, I'd be grateful! Hugs from Brazil!
if you never start it up, itll be okay, threw the whole warranty. JUNK
What’s that in DJT indictments?
Yeah, cleaner than the junk yard you've chosen for filming!!
Cool

It's race car engine. It need to rebuild every 1000km, it can last 2000km so durable.
