Canon Vixia HF R52 isn't exactly the same as the Vixia HF R800. One of the differences is that the HF R800 has threads to attach various lenses, filters, and a lens hood. One trick is to glue a step-up ring on an older model Vixia and use those threads to attach lenses, etc. HF R600 /R60 and later Vixia (R700, R70, R800, R60) come with the lens threads. Older models don't- R100, R10, R200, R20, R300, R30, R300, R400, R40, R500, R50
Hey just letting you know this is one of the best videos on UA-cam for different price point film setups, and encouraged me to get in the game. I bought the Canon Vixia HF R52 on Ebay for $110 bucks. I'm having fun with my boys and don't have a lot of money invested. Thanks.
Man I dont know how you dont have more subs. Editing is on point, the story you tell is good, and video quality is great. I hope your channel makes it, keep it up!
Brotha thanks for taking the time to do this. If it's not to late, go to school and be a teacher, it's in you ! Except instead of getting the summers off, see if they'll swap it to hunting season !! 😄
This is the most helpful video i’ve ever watched. Me and my friends are trying to getta channel running but we couldn’t find anything for our Budget. I appreciate the helpful advice!
Well Done !! best video I have seen on self filming set ups!! so it seems like filming with a mirrorless and having to manually zoom in and out might be a problem when it comes down to little movement once you spot a target animal. thanks for the helpful info and keep up the excellent work!!! 👍
The microphone shoe you're mentioning is actually a cold shoe. A hot shoe mount is one that has an electronic connection with the device being mounted on it, which in this case would mean you wouldn't need to plug the mic into the camera's mic port because it would already connect to the camera via the hot shoe. A cold shoe is simply a mount for accessories like microphones, lights, viewfinders, etc., that have no electronic connection with the camera. Typically, a Canon hot shoe would pair with a Canon brand mic, Sony with a Sony mic... it's kind of a way to keep you buying more of that manufacturer's products.
11:04 1.8 lens on this camera isnt the same as 1.8 Lens on ff dslr, its completely different 12:03 Canon RP in 4k has a big 1,7x crop so if you want good 4k video its better to buy for example canon r10 with a lens for apsc and you would get better quality
Great video. With that first camera and the muddy arm, when you did the zoom it seemed so easy. Does the arm allow you to zoom or were you doing that on the camera? Getting my first set up, so new to this. Sorry if that seems ridiculous
If you are still looking to get a tree arm, I’m about to build my DIY carbon fiber arm. I think it’s going to cost me about $100 to make. If I like it I’ll show you how i did it
I personally would go with the mirrorless because they are more versatile, giving you the option to also get really professional grade pictures as well as high quality video
@@huntingwithcannons I’ve been filming the last 4 seasons and have a real solid set up I’m also planning to do a video on myself. You did a really good job with the pacing and editing of your video with some solid information for new guys putting together or building up their set up. What state do you live in?
I either have the comica wireless mic or a Rhode shotgun mic on my main camera. Any microphone will work, just depends on what works best for you in your situation
Nice job and good info. You should put an insta360 360 camera in the mix. That’s what I mainly film with for my main camera right now. Insta360 One RS 360 mod. Great video, informative, phone still cost but doesn’t add extra camera cost👍

Yes I realized I had made the mistake of saying that after the video had been uploaded. Thanks for pointing it out!

R6 footage is far superior! But yes it’s a bit harder to film with…but it’s totally worth it.
Great video and very well laid out!

If you are not self filming would you still buy the camcorder in the $7000 budget ? Or just stick with the mirrorless

Very well done video great job

What mic do you wear to edit in audio over the action cam?
I either have the comica wireless mic or a Rhode shotgun mic on my main camera. Any microphone will work, just depends on what works best for you in your situation
What cage do you have the AKASO EK7000 action camera in? The one that comes with it is crap if you want to attach it to a battery bank.
I don’t own that particular action camera, so I don’t have the answer to that question. Sorry!
@@huntingwithcannons why would you recommend?
Does a lanc remote zoom work on the vixia HF R800 through the a/v port?
Unfortunately not
11:54 thanks for the reply, greatly appreciated as I almost ordered it. Have a good day
Do you know if the zoom controller will work on a Panasonic hcv785k?
👍
Is there a remote control option for the Canon VIXIA HF-R52?
Unfortunately it’s not compatible with the R52
@@huntingwithcannonsis there another camera around that price range that will allow the remote?
