Wonderful progress! I’m so impressed with your vision and your abilities to make it happen. I so enjoy watching your mom working in the garden. She is enjoying this new chapter in her life because of all you dear people.
Thank you so much! We are very lucky everything worked out
The cat bed at 37:56 was too precious! Got to love those fur babies!
A German Shepherd, Doberman, and a cat appear before the king.
The king greets the three and asks each what they believe in.
First, he asks the German Shepherd who replies "I believe in discipline and loyalty to my master". King says " this is good, you can sit here at my right hand."
Next he asks the Doberman what he believes in. The Doberman replies "I believe in love and protecting my master." King says "Wonderful, you can sit here at my left."
Finally King asks the cat what he believes in and the cat replies "I believe you are in my seat".
Is there anything Simon doesn't know? He's such a blessing; hard working, skilled, knowledgeable, just like the rest of you.
haha! He is also a very good jewellery maker. Master of All Trades!
Do Omar and Simon's parents watch the channel? I can see their mom holding her breath as her sons take down those stone walls and beams!!!! Thanks for another recipe!
Yeah, we have had a few calls with: "I STOPPED WATCHING THERE!" lol
I love seeing the progress you’re making. Great job.
When I lived in Northern California, there was a wet boggy area near a beach we used to go to that we filled with masses of those gorgeous calla lilies. Such a lovely thing to have growing on your land!
They are! They are also a sign of our very beginning here. They were some of the few things that were completely beautiful in a land that was so neglected (apart from the orange tree). Im so glsd tehy are now visible and enjoyed by us.
Those lilies are so beautiful. I'm glad you saved them
I love you guys. So much progress.
Wonderful job with the video! Simon is an Artistic Angel!!! You are too Omar!😅 Mum loves gardening and that's why your garden is thriving! I see the secret Garden(er) unfolding before my eyes!! I'm surprised Mum didn't put some of the Lilies outside her beautiful picture window!!! That jasmine is really going to smell good! Oh, I can't hardly wait to build my little 6' square space next to the outdoor shower! I remember Y'all putting it in/up and finally getting the hot water!😂😂😂 Everything Looks So good! I can't imagine what it will look like when your finished!! ✝️🙏❤❤❤❤🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣🍍🤗
Thanks Melinda! I asked mum if she wanted some of them outside as the soil is really good there for the lillies but she wants more colourful flowers outside her window! We have had so much rain lately so we have had to stop the garden but we are itching for next week sunny spells!!
Hola amigos.
Estamos aprendiendo mucho :)
Doing great , but pls use the guides for saw.. sometimes if there is a knot inside of the wood it could buckle and jump whist going thru saw, im sure the guys would live to keep fingers.. if i had money i would send a router 😊
Thank you Doris so much! Kitchen is going to be so much more comfortable! ❤
Just love watching you work steadily through each task. You’ve done so much since you started and it’s lovely to see the extra help from Simon and your mum, is really contributing to so much. There is a great pace to your videos and the work you are doing. No stress. Just steady progress. Well done
Thank you so much for your comment and Im so glad you like the pace of the videos :)
I love what you all are doing! Everything is looking so beautiful. And you have such lovely happy cats!
Thank you Helen! Our cats are our bebes :D
Enjoying a lot to see the progress of your home every week! I would love to know your plans for the big house 😊!!
I am so scared the way you use your hands on the machine to push the piece of wood ! Beautiful result. Thanks for sharing
You all are precious people and a joy to watch!
What a great episode. Thanks for sharing your quiche recipe and for letting us share your home building experiences. Keep them coming.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
What a lot you have done this time whether it was raining or not. I can not believe how much Omar and Simon can do they are very hard workers and they can just about do everything. Wow. Love your cats they are so inquisitive and your mom seems so happy with what ever she does, planting or just tidying in the garden and mainly being with her daughters and her son in laws. I love how you joke with each other. Another beautiful video and have a lovely day.
What a contrast between the ruin of the old buildings and the your new tiny house. We appreciate Simon's whistling/humming when he is building. Memories of grandpa come to mind!
Hi Omar,Andrea and family, those lilies really have doubled in size and look beautiful, and I'm sure that with you both nurturing them hopefully there shouldn't be a problem with them being moved.
Wow the quiche looks amazing 😍.
I love that you are so well organised that you have jobs for all weathers, I'm just wondering what is the weather like where you are now?.
Sending you all good wishes from the uk 😃👌🌈🤟
Thank you Sonya as well as joining us as a Member! Welcome!
Our tasks revolve at the moment a lot around the weather so we are lucky to have things going inside and outside.
At the moment is raining quite a lot and its very windy! Hoping next week we have a sunny break as we really need to plant a lot of things!
Well done. Your orange tree might be good for making marmalade or liqueur, as you said the oranges are quite bitter ❤
I agree! I should really have a go at making marmalade. Im sure some people will like it as a present!
Great video as always. Looking good with the white shelving and draws. Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Thank you so much! We are so looking forward to the kitchen having more storage! ❤️❤️
@@TheIndigoEscape 👍
Bom dia! Thank you for another great episode...😊
Thank you!
Splendid progress! Your videos are a joy to watch, thank you all!
It looks like you might have a nice view from your roof, any thoughts of adding a small roof terrace or balcony to catch the sunrises on the new annex?
...or maybe one on the back for sunsets?
When we did the roof and had to go on top fo the container realised that... I wish I could have a little ladder up there... or a cat hammock!

Boa tarde. Pensem em colocar uma caixa onde encaixe uma mangueira para o serrim va. Gosto de vos ver a todos tão aplicados. Pode ate ser uma caixa de plástico com tampa. Obrigada
ahh! Para o po da serra? Sim!!! Vou ver si posso encontrar uma! Obrigada!
I cannot see a calla lily without hearing Katherine Hepburn's famous "the calla lilies are in bloom..." line (however can't remember the film it was in)
"The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died."
Stage Door, 1937 :)
Thank you so much!
Quite a few Chem trails in your sky.....
Thank you for the explanation of your plans for the stone building! I never knew stone could absorb smells, char from fire, and stain from smoke. I'm glad you can preserve the section with solid bedrock and thick, straight walls.
Neither did I! It was Simon who spotted it and unfortunately more of the wall had to come down as we only palned to take it down up to the chimney. Im glad it was well explained! We will try to add more snippets of information. Sometimes we forget!
Love these episodes great to watch the progress made on the build/reavation . Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a fun video, seeing the drawers being made so well, and showing what part of the stone walls are going to be preserved. Can't wait to see it rebuilt and pointed! The cladding on the container house looks great too.
Great progress, hope I can see you rebuilding those walls again soon
Hi Omar & Andrea, your farm is starting to look impressive.
We love watching all the progress on the farm on your channel.
The plant you put in the pot in front of the cabin/tiny house is not a jasmin as you said but a honeysuckle, if you don't mind me saying so.
Keep lavashing us with all your hard work, grtz Ingrid in Portugal.
Thank you Ingrid for your comment! The plant doe slook a but like a Honeysuckle but it was a cutting from a mature Jasmine vine at my sister's house and thats how we know it is a Jasmine :)
Progress is going well! Congratulations on another good week!
Can you please video a short walk leading from the road on to your property? We had a sneak peek of outside when Omar was installing the bell, and would be interested to see. Thanks.
Absolutely! hahaha I let out a good laugh! Everytime Omar gets up Iggy sits right there, not even 3 seconds after. Its so funny.
Andrea, just a suggestion - if you put the tray under your pot with jasmine (something like plate for pots) it will stop water from just running through the soil. Those trays keep some water in it and soil eventually soak it all in.
Thank you Violeta! They came with saucers but forgot to put it under once planted! Will remember that!
Place a cut onion in the room where you painted and the smell will disappear!
! I'll definitely try this when I need to add the second coat!
Looks beautiful
Is that just a temporary home for the lillies and iris under the olive tree? Do you intend to harvest olives from that tree? If so, you are not going to want plants underneath. The arum lillies will love any damp spot you have, though they are extremely hardy. The iris need full sun and should be planted very close to the surface. Cut the iris leaves back by about half to help them re-establish. For the same reason remove all the lily flowers and reduce some of the foliage. They will look a bit shabby initially, but in the weather you are having, they will pick up really fast. Don't put the picked lilies indoors or leave them lying around where your cats can come in contact with them - they are deadly poisonous.
We don’t intent to harvest from that particular olive tree as it gives a lot of privacy. We want that area more as an ornament place as it’s the entrance to the property. We have another 21 olive trees we can harvest which are at the perimeter of the property.
Calla lilies are somewhat toxic but aren’t poisonous as Easter, Stargazer, Asian and Tiger lillies. The cats don’t seem to be around them either.
@TheIndigoEscape , be careful, lilies can be extremely dangerous to cats
Calls lilies are not as toxic as other kind of lillies
Love you both and your videos but coming from california you need to pick those oranges or your tree won't produce as many next year....juice them and freeze the juice in small containers to use later...that's what I do
Unfortunately they are so sour that we can’t use them for juice. The juice comes out really yellowish rather than orange as well. They may be okay for marmalade but we aren’t really keen on marmalade but yes, we should pick them so they grow next year. I wish they were juicing oranges, it would be bare by now 😆
Might be time to stop calling it the container and start calling it the cabin or something more homey. Looks great🙂
Good call!
Simon is good at his job x
Wonderful work ❤️
Wasn’t very exciting, he said, as a beam swings at his face.
Hi Violeta! Yes! They came with saucers but we forgot to film when they were placed :)
Thank you❤
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, good work 👍😁 I didn't look for a while and I must say I like it again seeing you cooking 🔪 making drawers and working on the old house and the container house became beautiful well done 👍.
Me encantan verlas!
I might be completely wrong here, but won't there be an increased chance of attracting bees/wasps nests and other critters by closing the top of the container? It will be a nice dark/weather-proof space for them... Plus, in the summer wind could blow through it if you left it open. Again, I could be wrong.
Love the channel either way. Binge-watched the entire process in the last week. Really fun stuff!
The old building is actually strong,I thought it will collapse anytime soon but surprisingly it strong 💪
Hallo
Hoogtes zijn alleen met laser nauwkeurig niet met waterpas
I love watching all of your hard work and how beautiful it’s turning you out. You all are very skilled and talented!
Real pleasure to watch you make progress ,it is looking so nice thanks for sharing.
That's good
You are awesome💯💯💯💯
I’ve been here from episode 1, please watch it back. Could you please do an exact walkthrough of how it’s progressed. I’m so confused as to where you are working at the moment and it would really help me. It could be a little extra 5 minute vlog and gain a bit of attention from the newer viewer’s. Thank you 😊
We can try to make a segment on our next video with it! If you could tell me a bit more detailed what you would like to know so I can make it quite clear in our next video? As in how it looked when we first got the property and now? Thanks!
@@TheIndigoEscape thanks for coming back to me. If you watch the 1st episode back, we get a decent Ariel view but no actual what is where and what will be. Sorry I can’t be more specific as there were lots of outbuildings around a courtyard. Thanks again for responding, I’m just a little confused as to where everything is. ☺️
Ok, we'll try my best :)
Looking so great guys x
Check those Lilys out i am sure there not good where cats are think they make them ill check it out
Thank you. Callas are far less toxic, the cats seem to be well away from them as well.
The lilys that are really toxic are Easter Lillies, Tiger, Japanese, Stargazer, Asian Lilies and Day Lilies.
I bought some Stargazer bulbs but I realised I can’t plant them.
Great job
Me encanta el progreso que han hecho.
Gracias Carmen!
A very pleasant long video, enjoyed the variety very much! What will the new room be used for?
Thank you Vickie! It will be a dining room/kitchen and the room with the yellow walls would be our room.
Everything is looking good!
👋 I'm new to your channel. I'm enjoying your progress, but I am finding it difficult to figure out the correct order of videos. Might I suggest numbering them?
Hey Carolyn, you are right! I’ll try to make a playlist later and I’ll send you the link
Thanks for sharing your videos they are quite good. On a personal note I see great hair runs in the family lol
Have a great day
Lacey and Huxley ⚘❤
Thanks so much! Yes it does!!! I’m not to fond of it to be honest haha. It’s on my dads side 🥰
Thank you for the video...
where is your quiche recipe.. It looked amazing.
oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me! I'll add it now!
You did a wonderful job of building those drawers, but you surprised me by not using wood glue on the assemble of them it would have increased there strength and durability?
I believe they were glued as well!
Hi guys, shouldnt you be doing the pocket holes from the outside?:) I think that will hold the boards together better
It mostly a matter of convenience. If you have pocket holes that are going to be attached in a small area to reach for you (drill), then from the outside would be easier.
Structurally, it doesn't really matter if you use the outside or the inside. We filled the holes with wood filler, sanded them and painted them. If hey were going to be shown, maybe better to be on the outside as well.
If you mist your paint brush etc. paint goes on easier n helps to fill in crevices
Thats a good tip! Does it work with oil based paint too?
@@TheIndigoEscape I’m not sure
Well, good tip for water base ones!
BRAVO lots of progress.
I asked a few episodes back whether there was a kitchen in your mums home?
She doesn’t have a kitchen in her room.
I was surprised you replanted the lillies. They are considered a toxic pest over here in Western Australia.
Curious. How are you two resolving the mold issues?
At the moment it’s not great. We are waiting for the weather to get better to brainstorm some ideas. Personally the whole lime plaster with stone walls because “they need to breathe”, it’s completely false.
Waterproof, waterproof, waterproof
A lot of work done just one thing put a pottery saucer under your plant on your frnt😊
We have one we just didn’t film when we added it 🥰
Hey yeah thank you!! I am making that for dinner tonight.
Let me know know it went!
Thank you for taking time to explain how and why you do things the way you do. You guys are not taking shortcuts, if you have no time to do something properly, you leave it until you have time. It saves you a lot of headache and money longterm.
Thank you Violeta! I appreciate your comment because sometimes you don't know if you are explaining too much or not enough! :)
@@TheIndigoEscape not at all. I believe most of us are watching this kind of content to learn how things are done, to get ideas, not for the sake of sitting and watching someones hard work. It's big plus if content creators are so nice and interesting personalities as your family. I don't see myself building drawers in the future (there was few things l ended up doing and l was thinking the same about them 🙄😆) but if l ever have to make some l'm pretty sure l would be able thanks to your kindness and attention to all the details.
Thank you Violeta! That's very kind of you. Really happy you enjoy our content! Hopefully see you this week's Saturday!
❤❤😊😊🇬🇷 🇬🇷
Well, that wasn't a good idea to plant these plants under the olive tree. If you want to collect oil, you have to lay out a net, what happens? or you can't collect olives there or you destroy the plants
Yes we know. We won’t be harvesting from that particular tree as well as the other two nearest to the renovation. We have 26 trees in total on the perimeter of the property which are for harvesting. You also have to prune trees specifically for harvesting and we are pruning those three trees for shade.
We bought a 5 liter canister for 25 euros, now the growers have raised it so high that it's almost impossible to buy it, the liter for 15 euros, I took care of that because we use every tree here in Greece now, I have two trees next to my shed that I had neglected, I pruned them and they bring me 70kg of olives and I get 10 liters of them
The economy is very bad in Europe, so think smart, have a healthy life and be happy, greetings from Greece city Thessaloniki
Great nob
How much is an abondon farm there
We spent €30,000 on this property.

What are in those bags hanging on the wall.
Could you use a router to make a groove in the plywood to accept the tongue of the floorboard sides?
Yes! Omar got a router from his dad but we couldn’t find the right collet, we ordered several ones and had no luck!
Bad spot for those plantes, they should go along a wal!!!
Calla lilies don’t need to be planted along a wall. They are incredibly happy where they are
And by the time you are going to pic the olives?@@TheIndigoEscape
@@alicerodrigues8361we don’t harvest from that specific tree as it provides shade and privacy. We have another 25 trees.
But caulking edges is a good idea
Is Simon staying with you guys, or does he have own homestead?
He’s my sister’s husband and have their own place for more than 10 years here.
