Sweet video Rick and good idea with magnets for the bulkhead loads. Not to mention for you at the moment just switching the whole car out until you get magnets in them. Your solution for the lumber loads/empties is similar to what a neighbor did on his layout in the early 1960s. Some of his flat cars, hoppers and gondolas were bought in pairs with one being empty and the other have a load glued into place. He would manually switch them out between operating sessions, so that the same car number was doing double duty.
For my centre beam loads I glued bits of thin foam to the ends to make them a tight fit.
If I were you, I would dedicate a video in Memory of Mark Nickols as HOBO Shoestring. That's only my opinion. Mr. Rick, you have there a very impressive layout that I wish I could physically be there and watch you operate. Have a wonderful day Mr. Rick

Sorta funny you're talking about how well your tripod has held up, but thinking about wanting a new one... I just got a new one myself; an upgrade from my cheap 10 dollar Walmart special... I have a video coming out about it this very afternoon...
it comes with a sort of a little boom arm which is pretty neat for getting shots out over the layout. It seems to work pretty well so far!
IMHO, you should still use your old staging with a crossover? That way it gives you counter balance to layout?

Maybe,,because you have your fascia above your layout,,,,what if you kept your empty/full loads above the industry about to be served ??. When you are about to do a video or session [ or both ] you swap in / out whatever car - cars that will be switched so when the locos with U.P Pete turn up they are ready to go. maybe baby. Hey,, does los neitos yard [ hope i spelt that right ] have a tower ??, I rekon your yard would look good with 1. Either way,,,,lookin good mate =]
