Your tutorial is so simple , I love it Neil - good sample and demo techniques step by step . This shot is a master piece. Very moody and romantic, Elle looks soooooo stunning . Well done team , catch you guys again next episode .
Hey Neil, I think that this is my first time watching you but it will not be my last. This video is a gem, I love the way you explain what you are doing so simply. Great job and I look forward to watching some more.
Excellent 👌👌👌 Inputs Neil. From your video I now got an idea to shoot. I hope I can get half as much of what you finally created because I am just a beginner in flash . Thank you
excellent Neil i had a similar set up practising with my kids in front on the Christmas tree testing a Neewer flash trigger that I got with this new info il go back and try with this video in mind !! cheers man take care
Excellent work Neil. Just one question. In editing you mention importing 4 JPEGS were all the images shot in that format or taken RAW and exported as JPEGs ? TIA, keep up the great videos for us mortals 👍
Excellent video......I'm not very adept at PS and give up easily from other PS tutorials but you made this straight forward and easily understandable. Thanks
silly question from new PS user. will this technique work on a group shot, like a team shot in a gym? can I take a plate shot then move the single strobe to light each player and then brush in each lighted player without the person holding the light being in the pic?
Yes it will! It is a very effective technique. I haven't tried it myself as yet but I know many photographers who do that. Check out the work of Jesse & Moira La Plante, Helen Williams, Jeff Tisman, Dru Dodd and Esteban Gil for example - they all do that regularly :-)
Thanks for this Neil i was wondering about that Option in photoshop because it looks really good stunni g for a minute I thought you did it in lightroom my mind would've been blowned..lmao
I was wonder how light painting was done, I tried it based on a book I bought but it didn’t work the way the book described. You showed how to shoot for order on the images. Thanks for your clear teachings.
Hi, Can I use the quick stand with any other softbox which accepts a bowen mount? Or do i have to use it with the Magshoe and the Octa-softbox - which both are quite expensive for a beginner who wants to be mobile :(
Hi, if you search for QuickStik on the B&H website then you can find out more about it - I wouldn't like to say, but you wouldn't have to use the MagShoe
Hi Neil I love your work! I’m wondering are you using a Mac to edit? The other thing if your camera has to be very still and not move does that apply to your model as well?
Stupid question: Wouldn't it have been enough if you swith the top 3 blend modes to brighter colour and mask maybe little things out which don't fit or is there any problem with this? On the first look this way seems to be even faster maybe? ;-)
that's a really great picture and good technique. Question though: would it not be easier to work with layer opacity, instead of going back and modifying the brush, or am I missing something here. Can't test it atm.
Have you tried to use sony app in smartphone to control the camera? I use it almost 6 years to shoot interior alone. Camera on tripod. Flash in right hand and smartphone on left. No need in assistance. Probably can do the same on wedding.
It's great but which solo working wedding photographer has time to do this kind of photo on a typical wedding here in UK. Lucky if you get 20 mins alone with the B&G.
Me! I do this at most weddings, if I don't have someone with me I just ask a guest or member of the bridal party. I know many others who do this too - guests love helping too :)
@@tonymoore3090 no offence but they do. If you have these shots to show, you will get booked for these shots and therefore you will be able to do them. It doesn’t take long at all, minutes at most. You need to promote yourself by showing the images you want to be booked for. I take shots like this at most of my weddings, I take shots of my couples in the rain, they will lie on the floor in fields. It’s all to do with marketing
I alwayts come away thinking i can do that after watching your videos and I watch the videos from start to finish rather than skipping bits THanks

Should it be in JPEG when composting 4 images? Isn’t better in Raw?
Beautiful video …. Well explained , well step by step instructions .

Hi Neil, Big fan of your Work. One qustion form my side, Godox V1 / Godox V860 which one you suggest?
Hi Neil
I love your work! I’m wondering are you using a Mac to edit? The other thing if your camera has to be very still and not move does that apply to your model as well?
Hi Walter - Thank you very much! And good question - yes, the model does need to stay still for this technique to work well. And yes, I use Macs 😊
Neil, I got to the step where adding a layer but when I try to brush in, it doesn’t show anything. What am I forgetting?
Ingenious!
Thank you!
Where can I get the quick stick?
If you search on B&H you will find it - that is where I bought mine from
May I ask what the equivalent of the " option key on the Mac is on a Windows computer "
I don't know I'm afraid - you could just try right clicking on layer masks?
Stupid question: Wouldn't it have been enough if you swith the top 3 blend modes to brighter colour and mask maybe little things out which don't fit or is there any problem with this? On the first look this way seems to be even faster maybe? ;-)

A true photographer would do this with chrome film!!!
You shoot Raw or Jpeg?

Most everyday brides/groom don’t allow time for this.

FIGJAM. To the max.
I truly love it. I'm about to embark on my very first gig next month. A bridal shower so this helps me a lot!
I think you should work on fading the brushed lighting out more. right now its too much fixated on her face and it loses the overall image feel.
I am happy with this edit but I appreciate the feedback 😊
