Dude, the clear wrap idea is great! I have a tank full of zoas and that has always been on my mind when I use the air line method. Thanks man! As far as the stoppers, you could go visit a local home brew shop or look it up online but they make food safe rubber stoppers for beer and wine fermentation you could use instead.
Ur a life saver. Have had my tank running for years now and just now had to restart mine and was in a panic because i had no pump and no hose. The plasic wrap workes like a charm
It depends on your return hose/nozzle to the tank and if it creates bubbles where the overflow box picks it up. I've been running an overflow box for years now with no bubble issue.
Why not just submerge the entire unit under water and put it together. When you pull it out you should have a full siphon that remains due to the reservoirs built into the box. Then all you have to do is hang it on the tank. Yes, you might need to wipe the outside of the unit a little bit to dry it, but that really shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks a bunch. I was tired of drinking my aquarium water

Good point with the rubber stoppers.

I actually use the first method with airline tubing and suck. But I also only keep freshwater tanks.
Still.. you can get some poopy water. lol
@@PurelyAquatic Poop never killed me before
bacteria built up in your stomach can be a bitch
That pipe should have a none return value on a spout so you can draw it out with a shring
I need to know something. I don't if I want this but how often the sifon gets bubbles inside?
