Sad trivia note: The actor who portrayed Ed The Disappearer was Robert Forester, who died the day El Camino was released, but he was able to see the film before he died & he told Vince he loved it.
Trivia note: They designed Todd's apartment to fit the exact dimensions of the camera & tv screen, the recorded over an hour of Aaron searching the set from above non-stop & edited it all together.
Remember how Todd died? Jesse strangled him with a chain. How did Todd kill his cleaning lady? He strangled her with his belt. Vince thought about everything even 6 years later.
And the first hands on death in breaking bad was crazy 8 being strangled by Walt and the last hands on death was Todd being strangled by Jesse well Jack was shot at the same time but he was already going to die from his other gun shot wound so that doesn't count
The reason the image looks "clearer" is because Breaking Bad was shot on film, which is chemically processed. "El Camino" was shot on digital, which is processed by computers. Some people don't like digital because they say it doesn't "feel like" classic movies should feel, because it looks too clean. But digital is a lot cheaper and easier to shoot with, but it produces a different "feel" and look than film.
That scene in the diner between Walt and Jesse so perfectly encapsulated Breaking Bad the show. The fact that Walter is envious of Jesse because he got to do something “special” so young instead of becoming a drug kingpin in his old age. Jesse gave him a look like “what? Im just trying to get paid and survive.“
In Spanish El Camino means the road. I used to have a 1960 El Camino, My high school ride in the 1980s. If that car could speak. My old truck is still rolling to this day. I wish it was still mine.
I'm still amazed as to how many former actors they managed to appear in this film considering the show hasn't been on for 6 years. From Bryan Cranston (Walt), Jonathan Banks (Mike), Krysten Ritter (Jane), Robert Forester (Ed), Larry Rankin (Old Joe), Tess Harper & Michael Bofshever (Diane & Adam Pinkman), & David Mattey (Clearance) all making cameo appearances in it.
You know, the way Jesse shoots Neil with the hidden gun in his pocket reminds me of how Walt shot Jack's gang with the hidden gun in the trunk of his car in the series finale.
The place that Td and Jessie burried the cleaning lady is called the Bitsi Badlands and is a very desolate part of Northwest New Mexico and is about a three-hour drive away from Todd's apartment in Albuquerque so Jessie had to ride three hours in the back of Todd's El Camino with the dead woman.
While the exact number isn't revealed, considering Jesse had $240,000.00 cash to give to Ed The Disappearer (not counting the cash Badger & Skinny Pete gave him), if the money was split exactly 3 ways, that means Todd had $720,000.00 cash in his fridge.
What i am wondering is how did these welding people know that Todd had money and thag it would be there? I guess Todd became friendly with them and they found some stuff out
Glad you guys watched this movie soon after you finished the series. It plays almost like a extra episode of the series but then again they had already concluded that story. Many people had bigger expectations when this came out six years later. Some people thought it would be a "Breaking Bad" movie like with more action and other characters which it was not meant to be at all. Vince decided to make this film because lots of people wondered what had happened to Jessie after he escaped. Did he get caught? etc. Jessie was a beloved character and people wanted a good ending for him.
This is the memory after they were stuck out in the desert with the dead battery RV this is after they had gone to a hotel to shower and they ate and went to get Jesse's car to drop Walt off back at the airport they are even wearing the same clothes
I think this movie did what it was supposed to do, and that was to give you closure as far as Jesse's story was concerned. Most people really wanted Jesse to be able to move on to a better life and I think this movie at least gave us the feeling that he did. This was Jesse's Redemption story.
This movie is awesome! You guys are lucky you get to watch it right after finishing BB. For a lot of us it had been years since we saw these characters.
Also the word El Camino in translation means the " Road or the way" it is used to refer to a path or a Jouney so thay is appropriate for Jesse's Jouney to get to his new life and identity in Alaska
Remember when Walter said the stock market would drop if his product stopped. S4 episode 6 I am the danger. Thats why they switched to the stock market.
I think the only missed opportunity was not jumping 5-10 years in the future at the very end. It would've been interesting to see Jesse living in Alaska with a wife and kids.
I can see why people said that this movie wasn't necessary. The show ended perfectly and they waited like 10 years to make the movie. So I see people's distain for it. However, like most fans I enjoyed the nostalgia and the flashbacks. I'd say this movie was 70% for nostalgia 20% for closure with Jesse, and 10% for it's story. It really didn't need 2 hours to make the points it made, and they waited far to long to make it. But I do like the movie nonetheless.
I wouldnt consider this a movie it felt more like an extended last episode of the tv show but I enjoyed it as a Breaking Bad fan. I wouldnt watch this again on my own though its not one of those movies to rewatch for me.
I have to say, I could not get into this movie at all. lol. I've tried! Can't get through it! Maybe I'll just watch this reaction and learn what happens! lol. I'd actually like to see a series with Skylar, Marie and Junior. How the hell did THEY get by after this? Do they talk to each other? Junior must be all screwed up! Marie must be shoplifting like crazy. Holly is all grown up, she has to find that videotape where Walt is talking to her. Junior has to meet Jesse, his sort of "half brother". (i don't know if that's possible, don't know what happens at the end of El Camino.) (Junior isn't in El Camino, right?).
Look at Todd making Jesse move another body as if he doesn't have enough truama and Todd didn't even take her back to melt her body he burried her instead because in his words she was noce she deserves a pretty resting place
The reason why todd is so fat in this movie is because it came years after breaking bad and todd played a butcher in the show FARGO, thats also where he met his wife Kisten dunst. You guys need to watch fargo!!! Except the 4th season its a masterpiece!!! of course after better call saul
because breaking bad ended in 2013 and this came out in 2019. If you see the actor who played Todd today in 2023......hes in a new movie and hes twice the size in 2023 than he is here. Hes married to Kirsten Dunst too so I guess he was like I got a good looking woman and im rich....im eating.
He can't shoot Todd he is thinking if Todd goes missing and he is missing too Jack and the guys will be looking for Jesse and Brock will be dead so he knows he can't
Imagine not commiting to watch better call saul even after saying multiple times you were going to finish it and then deleting your reactions to it, so cringe
I just finished watching their Breaking Bad reactions and was wondering what happened to Better Call Saul. Did they just not find it interesting or were the viewership low or what happened? Just curious.
That show was extremely boring anytime Saul and Kim were on screen. Gus and Mike scenes were always good. I don't think I finished Saul either because of how boring it was. A lot of breaking bad fans thought it would give the same excitement as breading bad but not at all. It wasn't even half as good as breaking bad, so I would understand why someone wouldn't want to watch multiple seasons of boring.
This guy is so full of himself he wants to do a shoot out with Jesse it seemed like he was going to cheat but Jesse cheated instead lol or out smarted him
I dont think this movie is bad but I dont think its good either. It has good parts. But the weakest scene for me was the showdown with the villains. It was really contrived and nonsensical. I know jessie isnt walter, but I still feel like he could have done something smarter that doesnt rely on his target being really REALLY stupid. Especially when you consider the fact that he was the one that conceived most of the plans/heists in BB. Which includes outsmarting walt himself at the end before his fall.
I agree I believe I enjoyed Better Call Saul better than Breaking Bad because while its not as fast paced or as action packed, its more psychological and gets your mind going more so than the sit down and just watch that breaking bad was.
I was disappointed in the continuity between how Jessie looked in the car in the finale and the next shot in El Camino. His hair is much longer, messy and dirty. You would think they would have made some attempt to match scenes. Looking forward to your BCS reviews.
Sad trivia note: The actor who portrayed Ed The Disappearer was Robert Forester, who died the day El Camino was released, but he was able to see the film before he died & he told Vince he loved it.
He's awesome in the film "Jackie Brown"
Skinny Pete and Badger are real ones. Skinny Pete especially tho, he the GOAT fr

Didn't he break his neck with the chain

And the first hands on death in breaking bad was crazy 8 being strangled by Walt and the last hands on death was Todd being strangled by Jesse well Jack was shot at the same time but he was already going to die from his other gun shot wound so that doesn't count
When the guy proposed a wild west styled shoot out he was high on cocaine. Thats literally the explanation lmao.
El Camino is closure that was very needed for Jesse he deserves a movie
El Camino in Spanish means the way. Its also the name of the car he drove away in at the end of breaking bad
The reason the image looks "clearer" is because Breaking Bad was shot on film, which is chemically processed. "El Camino" was shot on digital, which is processed by computers. The way Jesse shot that other fake cop is a callback to how he shot the last Salamanca in Mexico when they were escaping with Gus and Mike
Better Call Saul.. Better Call Saul... BETTER CALL SAUL!!

Lmao, Sophie you're funny. "...knowing there's a dead lady in there...I don't like your apartment anymore I hate it" 😅
I'm still amazed as to how many former actors they managed to appear in this film considering the show hasn't been on for 6 years. I like the part where Walter forgot he was there wheb Jesse graduated highschool lol that was funny
‘El Camino’ means ‘the way’ the phrase also lends itself to a vintage Chevrolet make.
You know, the way Jesse shoots Neil with the hidden gun in his pocket reminds me of how Walt shot Jack's gang with the hidden gun in the trunk of his car in the series finale.
That’s a stretch. But if it reminds you...
“You got one up in your cart too”🤣🤣I am rolling

I’m a real fan of this movie. It was really kind of Vince Gilligan to give us this. Like it or not, I really needed to see this. Great reaction!
What i am wondering is how did these welding people know that Todd had money and thag it would be there? I guess Todd became friendly with them and they found some stuff out
It was great to have Vince Gillian show us what happened to Jesse
it's funny how Jess says i am 96 percent sure you are the guy and 96 percent is the purity of what Jesse cooked his meth

Yeah most people dont realize this movie is an epilogue. It's basically like a bonus chapter, not a full blown book.
This is the memory after they were stuck out in the desert with the dead battery RV this is after they had gone to a hotel to shower and they ate and went to get Jesse's car to drop Walt off back at the airport they are even wearing the same clothes

lol, I even watched it after BCS
An El Camino is the name of Todd's car that Jesse drove off in
Still waiting for Better call Saul.
We had to wait too long to watch out to appreciate it like someone who just finished the show
I didnt see people critisizing the movie. When it came out everyone i know of loved it
Yo Mair you really look like Paul goerge dude..that't amazing😂

el camino is spanish for 'the way' which is an apt title

Fr, BCS is on par with BrBa, if not better
