    Louisiana Shrimp Boil
    Ingredients
    • 80 quart turkey fryer pot
    • 8 gallons of water
    • 3 lbs. whole red potatoes (guessing)
    • 2 lbs. whole fingerling white potatoes (guessing)
    • 8 lemons, cut in half
    • 6 onions, cut in half
    • 6 oranges, cut in half
    • 3 pods of garlic
    • 4 1/2 pounds Zatarain’s Complete Crawfish, Shrimp & Crab Boil
    • 16 ounces Zatarain’s Concentrated Shrimp & Crab Boil
    • 15 lbs. of jumbo whole shrimp
    • at least 2 lbs. snow crab legs, cooked (guessing)
    • bag of ice
    Directions
    1. Bring water to a boil.
    2. Add potatoes; lemons (squeezed before adding); onions; oranges (squeezed before adding); garlic; entire jar Complete Crawfish, Shrimp & Crab Boil; and Concentrated Shrimp & Crab Boil. Cover with lid.
    3. Bring back to a boil and let boil for 10 minutes. Add shrimp and snow crab. When water starts to bubble, cook for two minutes. Turn off heat!
    4. Add bag of ice to slow cooking. Let set for 15 minutes. Remove from pot. Dump onto table. Ready to eat.

    let me tell you as a Louisiana native myself. I can smell it.....this is exactly how it's done. you do the bayou proud. ....going get me some shrimp now ....and dont forget the oranges. lol

    Looks good bruh, I'm from down the bayou too in south Louisiana and I do it the same way, the Zatarain's powder and the liquid concentrate combined, but we like them real spicy so we add some cayenne too. I kill the boil with ice for the soak also. I never did it with the oranges tho. I usually put lots of sides in the boil. I add potatoes, sausage, corn, mushrooms, whole heads of garlic, celery, sweet potatoes, carrots and lemons. But where's ya newspaper for the table at? Catch all that wetness off the table with that.

    Can you help me I’m doing 5 lbs of shrimp in a 60 quart pot. Do I cut your recipe by 1/3rd. or do I use the same amount of zaterains and lemons and oranges??

    If you were using a smaller pot/less water but the same amount of food, would you decrease the zatarains seasoning and liquid?

    When you add the shrimp is it 2 minutes from then or 2 minutes after it comes back to a boil? Looks awesome and ready to try it!

      Watch your shrimp, boil them till they float then soak them till sink.

      You don't see it but perhaps the oar is sitting on a towel or in a bucket.

      AWildBeowulf its a wood deck that has been stained. Hack we boils them with the water right out of the Swamp that’s run through a couple of filters.
      That’s the ticket to the Awesome flavor...
