I was so happy to see you using floor mat foam in this video! Most of the foamsmiths I follow tend to use tntcosplay or other higher quality foams in their tutorials and videos, and while I recognize that they are higher quality products, a lot of us are still out here ballin on a Harbor Freight floor mat budget lol. Thanks for another great video!
Ah! This is so Perfect. My plan for today was to try to make the shoulder armor for my room mate's She-ra Cosplay and chose to check out youtube while I have my morning coffee. So glad I did!
Really helpful! I'm in the process of gathering materials and it's really nice to see a tutorial with floor mats, since those are the most accessible eva foam items I can buy.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who sees that that "Tech Shoulder" armor piece, if made bigger, would make an awesome mask or face shield for some type of helmet. I can't even really see it as a shoulder piece (although clearly, it IS). I look at that and all I can envision is the front of a cool helmet!!
Great little tutorial Ted. Shows the newbie how easy it can be, and reassures us old hacks that we're adhering to your commandments lol. Extra guides on, maybe '3 ways to decorate each of those shoulders - from simple to real fancy' would be great [time consuming] but great!
Just wanted to say Thank you. Your videos have helped me out so much. From pattern making to gluing and finishing. You are a true master. Thanks again.
freshly getting into foam, made a couple weapons of sorts. and need to make a shoulder piece. your video is super helpful, but how to you know where to put "registration" marks on a template?
I’ve been watching UA-cam for hours trying to figure out how to actually measure your shoulders to do this as all the templates are ready-made no one is actually showing you how to do shoulders with the gauntlets can you just wrap your arm and cut them off. This video was helpfull still
Just a HeadsUp to Ted: If you read this and are an honest person, the AWE me channel is playing a "Live" video titled "(AWE me) Man At Arms - FuLL Series" ... It's DisHonestly showing ALOT of UnRelated videos, including an episode of DIY Prop Shop that you GuestHosted... Just wondering if you wanted to be an HONEST person, or if you were just gonna enjoy the MisLEading attention it might give you. (IF you even bother to still read YT comments, like you did in the past)

i don't see why floormat is considered cheaper.... (personally) for me it was super expensive...
I like that you are still using floor mat for some of these builds. Low cost and great for 'throw away' fun projects.
Yes, I use the floor mats for testing patterns.

I just bought a pattern from his store today and noticed there were new pauldrons. Watching how they look in this video, definitely going to buy them.
Thank you for your support.
Thanks so much for the instructions! I have avoided making rounded shoulder armor until now!
Happy to help!

For sealing, I really like thinning down the water based dap weldwood in an airbrush, it acts a lot like a non-toxic plastidip.
Awesome Evil Ted! I'm working on different parts for a wasteland cosplay and that sholder pattern looks great. The others are interesting too!
Thank you.
You make it look so easy... Great video as alway and so informative too
Thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing this with us I.

No, thank you for your support.
I love the waistlander design I think I’ll try to do something similar for my Red Robin costume (the superhero)
I came to this video for the same reason lol! I’m making a Robin costume as well, not Red Robin tho, Dick Grayson Robin
@@nickdopkosky4436 cool! I hope yours turns out well

Great video!!
Thank you, and thanks for subscribing.
Question evil Ted how or where did you get or make the foam shaping anvil you used in this video
I made it. You can use a plastic ball or a soft ball, just something round to curl the foam.
Do you recommend the sharpener that you are always using? Is it hard to learn to use it correctly?
Yes, here is what I use amzn.to/3zd60NF
Can you use a hairdryer to get the curve in the foam?
Nope... Need a heat gun.
How do you get your beveled edges so clean?
A lot of practice. The more you bild the better you get.
What is that round thing you use for heat shaping?
It’s an acrylic dome. But you can use anything that’s round. Like a softball held by a roll of tape.
do you thin your adhesive?
i bought agule pot like yours but my glue get thicker and thicker
Yes, I try to keep the edges clean so it wont dry out so fast. Then a add barg thinner to it.
How do you attach it to your shoulder!?
When making armor, I attach the shoulder to the body amour with a strap.
Do u have a link for the foam that you used?
I have my supply list just below the video.
Terima Kasih Banyak, Anda memang jenius

When it comes to making, it's just trial and error. I find that once I make something that works. I keep the pattern for future projects.
Hey Ted, got a typo in the dooblydo! WAISTLAD instead of WASTELAND. 😎
Thanks.
Can i have the patterns please?
Here you go...eviltedsmith.com/shop/
Don't know if anyone else is having issues with the website, but it's really laggy for me.
I'm sorry but I am completely confused I just tried everything you did on the first example and none of it worked!
When starting off it will be a bit difficult. The more you work on it the easier it will get.
Thanks from Brazil.
Success for you and your family.
