as much as I miss your more energetic voice overs, I do like this more relaxing style!
Zonbi no more?? Nooooooooooo
Awesome as always. Love the Lumin site, I may be on there a while. Made an Icarus costume for a Ancient Greece themed party many years ago, oh ye gods I just found the picture of me....it was 24 years ago, I feel so old (late 40s now lol), made the feathers out of card and paper, over 200 of them if i recall. Couldn't feel my hands for ages and had blisters from the scissors and craft knives. Nowhere near your level though, looking forward to seeing the finished piece!
Thank you so much! You can call me Zonbi as long as you like haha. And wow that is SO MANY FEATHERS! That is amazing.
@@GraceWillow You are welcome Grace/Zonbi :) Never....doing feathers......again!!
Well maybe...in foam. Possibly.. lol
I must admit, as much as I miss the over the top energetic cosplay videos, I love your new style. So hard to find remotely calming, yet still entertaining content on youtube nowadays. Love you and your work, keep it up
Oh my gosh that means so much! I'm so glad you like it!
Hi Grace! I just came across a video of yours from over a year ago, about those beautiful little babies you were fostering. I don't know how I missed that until now. I subscribed to your channel a year ago, when I started making costumes with EVA foam, and I didn't know you were a cat savior too!! God bless you for all you do to help these beautiful little babies!! I love ALL animals, but I have to admit, that I'm partial to cats. I believe they are just the most beautiful and amazing creatures on Earth!! Thank you for all you do. Your costume tutorials are a great help to many, and what you're doing to help cats cannot be measured!
I really love how this costume is coming together! =D
Punished Props Academy Thank you!
Just read your post about the changes. Sucks that people can be so mean on social media. In a time where we should stand together, social media is tearing us more apart. Glad to see you’re still creating, still doing what you love and handling it with “Grace”. Keep inspiring! Get ‘em girl!
angelykdragon thank you for understanding ❤️ I hope you’re doing well!
The way you rigged the shoulder pieces was simple but effective and yet somehow I didn't think of it. I could definitely see a similar technique being useful in a few cosplays I have planned!
Very cool. And thank you for reminding folks to keep their animals safe from toxic fumes.
I have never liked this style of armoured shoulders with the crossed belts. I do how ever really like the way in which you showed the construction and design. The snake pendant is such an easy build, and the way you finished it makes it look really good. You always produce wonderful videos.
Even here in Australia we have heard about your weather event. I hope that you are not called out to much to deal with other peoples stupidity during the rain, and that you stay safe and dry.
Thank you! And luckily up here we haven’t had any bad weather yet!
Aw yeah, another Waterloo drinker :D
It's looking great, Grace!
vamperious heck yeah!!!! I’m addicted to this stuff. The strawberry ones are my favorite lol
The sharpie in the can was genius! Thanks for another awesome video, Grace!!
Man I got here early lol
This reminds me of an armor I made in college! I cut out over 300 scales out of Wonderflex for the breastplate, and then made 24 feathers for the shoulder pieces and 2 large feathers for the breastplate. Boy oh boy, let me tell you, my hand was dead after that lol
Beautiful work! I'm so looking forward to seeing the final product! :D
Thank you Alexandra! And wow that costume sounds intense!!! But so, so cool lol.
Trust me I feel for your poor hands. Just seen Lumins do pre done scales now!
Wow this looks so awesome
The scales came out gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
Love the shoulder armour and the neat trick of a soda can with a stick holding the snake while painting. The pendant turned out gorgeous.
Aww thank you! I'm happy you liked that!
Love your channel. You and your creativity are an inspiration. I hope one day I can make them come to life. Stay safe out there
Thank you so much Xander! You stay safe too!
It’s coming along nicely. Great tutorial! TY Grace.
John Christensen Thank you John!
This is super cool and helpful!!! Thanks for sharing your process and crafting experience with all the cosplay newbies like myself 🙏🏾
Thank you Daniel!
Ok so your rogue character have given me inspiration and motivation to create my own cosplay for my OC characters! Your creation is coming out really good so far! 🥰🤩👍🏼
Gosh, this new voice over style is so easy to binge! Loving all this new content 🙌
Aw thank you April! I’m happy you like it!
Thank you so much, this helped me a lot for my sindel costume💜💜💜
Aww! I'm so happy this helped you!
You are a Talent !
Aw thank you for being here Ronnie!
That pendant you sculpted turned out really good!
Aw thank you! That means a ton coming from you!!
2:40 that's a great way to add texture, I never would have thought to do that
I have seen it with balls of foil before, but never with parchment paper. It is a great effect.
I love this idea!👍
I thought i'd mention if you want scales without having to cut all of them you can find pre-cut EVA foam scales online from Arda Wigs, I think they maybe a tiny bit bigger than the ones Grace made in the video but still. One downside is they do cost money, not too much money but money is money.
TheeJackalope What a great idea! Thank you!
I wish you elaborated in more detail how you constructed the harness. I would’ve liked to have seen a step by step as to how you made it and how you put it on. I’m trying to figure out how to make one where I can attach a back bone to it.
I LOVE the simplicity of the "rig" that holds this shoulder armor in place!! I WAY overdid mine and wasted time, that I could've spent elsewhere. I love the little sculpted snake !! I like to use costume jewelry in the eyes of all the snakes, scorpions, hawks, eagles and condors heads I sculpt, to look like steel sword handles or armor enhancements.
Thank you Mike! I love your costume jewelry idea for the eyes! That sounds so awesome!
@@GraceWillow Thanks. Yeah, if you wanna make a cool sword handle, all you have to do is sculpt an eagle, snake, cool animal of your choice, out of Milliput or JB Weld, or good Plumber's putty, and add the costume jewelry. Red and Blue look real good against silver and gold (depending on what kind of imitation metal you wanna represent). I made a copy of Conan the Barbarian's sword handle, and incorporated it into a fake wooden sword (inspired by Frank Frazetta's painting: "The Barbarian") and it looked EXACTLY LIKE IT!! Since then, I discovered EVA foam, and the sky's the limit!!
The texture also reminds me of feathers, maybe with ink or one of those tools i could try to make a crow shoulder cape for a plague doctor or Eileen the Crow cosplay
I get Jill Valentine vibes from these 😍 again, love the ASMR-aesthetic you're going with lately. I never thought I'd be able to look forward to a chill, calming cosplay tutorial before bed.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you've been liking these
Very cool. I just might have to do this. Good job look forward for more. For the scales I have done, I cut them in strips and staggered them. still tedious
Thank you! And that’s a really smart idea!
PERFECT! i've been looking for a way to secure my scalemail/EVA foam pauldrons to myself for a costume i'm working on...THANK YOU!!!!
Sara I’m so happy you found this helpful! Thank you for watching ❤️
At first I thought the pendant was mushroom hahaha, but it look so cool. I really like the concept of this character and you are doing a great job!
Thank you so much!
@@GraceWillow You are welcome!
PS: Oh my, how on earth didn't I realise all the spelling mistakes I made in the comment?? 🤦🏻♀️😂
I literally saw your hair and was like, hold up... wait a minute... Is that Zonbi? Clicked on the channel, didn't recognize the name, but was subscribed... Then as I scrolled I recognized your videos and it all came together, lol. As always, love your content!
Thank you so much! and sorry for the confusion!! Yes it's me Zonbi! Heehee.
@@GraceWillow no worries! I hope you don't mind me asking, why the name change?
@@joshuabenes I've been wanting to change it since late last year and finally decided to do it! I have a longer post about it on my community tab if you're interested!
@@GraceWillow nice! I'm glad you changed it. It's always good to have something that you're passionate about that's more in alignment with who you are and what you want to do.
@@joshuabenes Thank you Joshua!
OHH HO!! What a beautiful kitty!! That gorgeous cat looks like MY beautiful, snow white, blue eyed, Himalayan boy, Kimba the White Lion !!
Thank you! Also that is a great name for your kitty hahaha.
@@GraceWillow Thanks! I named him after my little Sister's favorite cartoon cat: Kimba the White Lion. He look almost exactly like him too, with snow white fluff and cobalt blue eyes!! and WHAT A GOOD boy he was!!! God I miss him! That was about a decade ago.
@@GraceWillow I missed your OTHER cat (at 2:10), playing with the shade string, the first time I watched the video. That doesn't look like a "regular" tiger. That cat has gorgeous markings !! I love cats!
Can you do a tutorial on how to make superhero armour and add a link to the templates in the description for me
Why am i seeing this 50 mins later. Notification bell!!! Why have you forsaken me?
Aw darn! Well either way I'm glad you're here!
Oh the pain of cutting out scales 😅 I moved to forming them out of Foamclay because cutting and sanding made me crazy.
Wow!! You’re a champ for making them out of foam clay! 💪
From your newer uploads...are you going a more Wiccan/Larper/Alternative craft route?
Jessica Vega a little bit! Yes! 😄
Have you thought of a name for the character? I'm just curious, but the costume is coming together really nicely and I can't wait to see it all. Love your videos and hope you have a nice day!
Thank you so much! I do have a name for her! When I'll do the costume reveal I'll be able to tell you what it is heehee
@@GraceWillow Cool, can't wait!
ooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice :-D
You sew foam, too?
So nice Bob Ross female voice ....still love the ids ...cant wait till next year ....no coid 19
I really miss your energy and swing you presented in your videos.
This asmr, whisper, rain setup gives me the creeps.
Is this your permanent style now or are you thinking about going back to the classic one?
Aww I’m sorry this gives you the creeps lol!! I might go back to my old style at some point, I just really like doing this style of voiceover right now.
Those scales look really tedious to make...
LOL! They really are!!
Interesting for a cat to chew and lick that.
Lol right?! He has done that his whole life no matter where we've lived. He just likes to groom it.
I get that you want to be more serious with your channel direction now but I'm gonna miss your fun energetic style.
Bri K Thank you! And I totally get that! I’m not trying to be too serious 😅 my style may change as I do! I appreciate you being here! ❤️
Do you have an instagram?
I don't sorry!
We met at the witch festival and I was gonna tag you in my new cooking creations. But, love the new videos :)
@@xionian Aww!! I remember you!! I miss seeing your amazing meals! If I reactivate my account I will be sure to let you know! I hope you're doing well
Grace Willow aww...Thank you. I also have the cookings on my Pro page on Facebook too. Just in case. You don’t need an acct since it’s open to the public Archie Fields ( Xionian) is the acct. ☺️👉🏽👈🏽
xionian Aw thank you!!! I’ll check it out! 😄
