- Apple's iPhone 13 Pro is the first iPhone with 1TB of storage. The 1TB version costs $500 more than the 128GB version. That’s a lot of money for the general consumers. In this video, REWA LAB will show you how to upgrade iPhone 13 Pro storage from 128 GB to 1TB. At the end of the video, we will share the cost and the pros & cons of the 1TB storage upgrade.

wow, big surprise to know iphone 13 does not lock the memory chip to the motherboard. Right to repair win!
It wasn't "locked" to the motherboard, this is actually a negative for right to repair. Previously iCloud locked devices could have their serials changed to unlock them, but they've migrated that info onto the CPU so the NAND doesn't need serial info written to it anymore. Now old iCloud locked phones are just ewaste.

I remember upgrading 16gb phones storage back in the day. With base storage is 128 now it’s not really worth the risk
That time app were of size in 10-20MBs now some apps exceed 10+GB storage so yeah 128gb is bare minimum nowadays to store everything on your phone for daily use.

@@ReinKayomi 128 gb should be good enough but I'd go for 256gb to store movies, series or big games locally or if i shoot a lot of videos in 4k on phone.

@@ReinKayomi if you want to use your phone properly for upcoming years then 256. Bare minimum is 128, not bad for today but certainly it will have problem after 2 years.

I got a 512GB 13 PM in Blue coming from a 256 8 Plus and I will say that the storage needs of newer devices is quite crazy when compared to what was standard even just 5 years ago. My next device will probably be an upgrade due to storage limitations rather than actual obsolescence. And for that next device I will be maxing out the storage. 2TB 15 PM will probably be my upgrade.
I'm only using 40gb out of my 128gb. Also have had this phone for awhile so it's not new. People have way too many useless apps downloaded and random games

@@anonym5510 Most apps these days are enormous compared to what they were about 5 years ago. Many apps are at a minimum exceeding 5-10GB and once you include 4K 60 video and photos, thats where much of the storage goes.
You call it useless but these days when you have 100+ apps for all the little stores in town plus apps for your bills etc all using even 2GB each(very small average), youi will be over 200GB.
@@buzzlightyearoh 4K 60 video mostly, and apps are huge these days. I also like to keep local copies of all photos and videos on my phone in addition to icloud as a back up. But mostly its like 85,000 memes from the last 12 years and a lot of videos.

I thought nand was hardware locked with EPROM, baseband ic and cpu??? How is this possible without the original chips from that original 1 tb nand phone?
the main thing i like about this video is the title. most people would title it "How to Upgrade iPhone 13 Pro Storage to 1TB FOR FREE"
firstly, those people use hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of equipment and secondly, you still need to buy a donor phone or chips.

the soldering iron and heat gun is like 400. and the flash is 100. its basically the same price as just upgrading normally. its better to do it yourself because you can use the soldering iron and heat gun for other projects.
Please, what is the number printed on the 1T capacity nand? It is important to me. My 1T capacity model nand is HYNIX HN3T3CA8GAX284. This number is correct? The letter G I don't know looks very good and it could be the letter C, I'm not sure what letter it is. Thank you very much
Is there any tools to attach phone internal storage to PC, either via sata, nvme or USB, and access the content and partitions as if it was a ssd/mass storage device?
If such things exists, they're will be a good tools to make custom firmware for phones that have a minimum custom software support.
I'm aiming to install another OS directly to the chip.. removing it's original OS completely but also be able to take some files (firmwares/drivers and etc) for backup. Windows on ARM+UEFI EDK2, if possible or Ubuntu ARM. Removing original OS completely (Android)
seeing Apple's reputation, most people gonna went for storage upgrade option anyway because it made the most sense
Not for me and many others.. i've been an apple user for decade.. the original, apple device which has never been opened, modified or serviced are way more durable and longlast than device that ever been serviced/replaced with not original apple component..
This swap memory needs high skilled person to do it. Not many repair shop can do it because it is risky.. this services already exist since iphone 6s and in my country this services are low in fan.
Repair shop only give short warranty for this service, and you can face activation problem someday with this services..
That's why rewa said in the last of this video to choose iphone capacity based on your budget and buy that instead upgrade the memory later with this method..

So iP13 series does not need to unlock the new nand with a programmer box? You can literally just change the original without unlocking anything?
Any reason why 13 does not need the serial transfer from an old NAD ? It does not feel like Apple, Can it activated in the next update and break the phone ?
All data and serials are written on CPU.

Muy bueno, y se puede ahorrar bastante, pero creo que lo que pierda valor es celular es falso, ya que la mayoría de celulares usados ya han sido reparados y mas si es una tienda, y el riesgo que se corre no es mucho si se hace la técnica correcta, incluso hay una técnica en la que se hace en una máquina que pule la nand hasta que queda en polvo por completo y así no arriesga los demás componentes por calor y eso, buen video bro
De hecho creo que el celular ganará mucho más valor con una memoria más amplia soldada. Bien puedes verificar el estado de batería y si la pantalla es original para saber si estás adquiriendo un teléfono en buenas condiciones

Yes, it is feasible. But you will need to swap more than a NAND.
