Credit due to GW for making this free to everyone to view. It feels like I'm stepping right back in Fantasy as if it never left. The nostalgia is hitting in all the right places! Can't wait to get to the table!
As someone who came to the Warhammer universe through the Total war games, I have been so psyched to get the old world back. I don’t have much of a tabletop community around so have been focusing on the games and books. This video has given me encouragement however to start an army and try to get into the game now that I’ve seen how it works. Thank you for posting this video. Very accessible way to see the game being played.
Finally had time to watch the full video. This to me symbolizes the greatest aspects of WFB: visually beautiful with great lumbering units, lots of desperate maneuvering, wild back and forth as both sides drag the advantage back to them, and a climactic centrepiece slugfest in the middle. Warhammer Fantasy, the Old World, whatever you call it - this is what got me into the hobby in 1995 and it's genuinely quite powerful to see it officially supported (I won't say 'back' per se because it never really went away) again.
I grew up in Poland in the 90's. It was right after the iron courtain fell. But, surprisingly, Games Workshop products were available quite quickly. My friend from school introduced me to the Wahammer Fantasy battle and I immediately fell in love with Orcs and Goblins. The only problem was the prices: it was way to expensive for polish teenager. I remeber that even buing a 3 pieces blister of Savage Orcs was a quite an event. Then few years down the road I had a job and I was able to buy myself models for Empire and Lizardmen. I was playing hard with my collagues from my local "Warhammer Club" but suddenly the system droped dead... Age of Sigmar was not for me, to say at least... I hid my miniatures in the closet for few, long years... Now I'm 40, I have two small kids and recently discovered that my old beloved Warhammer retuns.... You guys don't even know what a pleasure watching this report gave me... how many memories it brought back. I'm over the moon... I can't wait to introduce this game to my kids (I think they gonna love the "dinosaur army";) Cheers!
I have Warhammer + so have already seen it, but thank you so much for making this public! It's an awesome showcase of the Old World and I hope this encourages more people to dive into it on Saturday.
two super symphathic guys having a great time together playing with old world! awesome video, also top notch from a technical point of view! well done, Games Workshop!
Man they’ve really got to put more videos like this for the public, people would like it so much more, like a battle report between the Necron and admech combat patrols, or whenever a big box releases
As a Bretonnian player since the far off days of 5th edition, it's so joyous to be seeing them on the table again. At last my army can come out of retirement and take up arms once more for the glory of the Lady!
Huge congrats on this guys!!! Absolutely best battle report ive seen so far. The fight was insane!! The images explaining the rules were amazing, the edits on showing targets were amazing and last but not least you have an brilliantvideographer! Easy subscription!
How good is it to see beautifully painted TOMB KINGS and BRETONNIAN models stage the very first fantasy comeback ? Makes my sensory pits twinge and tickle with nostalgia.
Warhammer Fantasy battle report on the official UA-cam channel of Games Workshop in 2024? Yes, come on! So happy to see my favourite setting and game resurrected and being highlighted like this.
Love Fantasy Battle, never had the funds as a kid to buy the models. I've played Age of Sigmar for a while but there's always been that itch to get some units on square bases. Super glad games like Total War and Vermintide allowed me to explore the setting, and now I'm more than excited to get onto the tabletop!
I always love the good sportsmanship in these battle reports, cheering and laughing at their triumphs and misfortunes, great to see the old world available again
Absolutely loved how close that game was the whole way through. Looks like a lot of love and devotion from the team behind this has payed off, can’t wait to have my first battle in the world of legend.
What a fantastic battle report, a joy to watch :) Cannot believe the old Warhammer is coming back - I am sooo excited! :) Going to be buying Bretonnia - always wanted to paint that army when I was younger! :)
What a fun battle to watch! Thanks for putting this out here on UA-cam to be seen. Love the energy from Nick and Simon and thematic presentation is the cherry on the top! Awesome stuff. :)
Oh man, this is so beutiful! Look at those ranks and banners! This is such a great format to show warhammer fantasy in. Great job everyone and keep it coming!

As an Empire general, I feel the Bretonnian pain of failed combat charges, fleeing troops and crap dice rolls. However, the Duke is a monster in combat isn't he!
Wow, the GW team is doing excellent work on these videos. I have WH+ and watch as many of the videos as I can. Thank you for this Old World battle report!
When describing the reaction of Bretonnian knights to the deaths of some peasants, "I can assure you, none of my knights care" is the best line I've ever heard.
I can just imagine the peasants from faraway watching their own Duke missing several swings, hearing one of the Knights shouting "No with the pointy end m'lord!" and thinking to themselves "We're doomed".
Skaven are an absolute CLASSIC fantasy army and so are the many armies that have been announced as legacy aka/neglected. These armies are beloved by so many and in every discussion about the old worlds half the people are complaining that their fav armies will be left out. Please GW reconsider this as I and I know others were excited and happy to jump on TOW train until we heard this and I for one took it out of my cart and haven’t thought twice about playing these new systems because of this decision.
Could you please make enough so us average consumers can actually purchase this? Personally, it's very frustrating when I try to pre-order and it's all "temporarily out of stock" then I see all the UA-cam channels showing their free boxes.
Seeing a Warhammer Fantasy battle report on this channel seems like a dream.
A good, good dream.
Definitely. It it really looks like Warhammer too! Excited to get the books in my hands!
