I’ve been searching for this bird forever. I used to hear this bird chirping outside when I was a young girl. Took me until today to finally figure out the name of the bird ❤️💜 so beautiful
Studies have shown that the Alaskan Chickadee is toughest of all, because only the smartest of each flock have survived, and they've been shown to be smarter than their lower 48 counterparts as a result. (The one's who have survived and thrived are the ones that remember where their seed storage is)
I love the song of the black-capped chickadee. Even during the winter months in -20 Fahrenheit, I see and hear these cute little birds happily chirp in my backyard.
As a kid, I fantasized about having a black capped chickadee as a pet. They are just so adorable and their little chirps and small size brightens up my day. They are my favorite bird to this day ❤️🥰
i always hear their fee bee song and calls at dawn, i usually get up before dawn and then hear them as i continue with my morning. there’s so many of them and sometimes they sing in synch, very lovely.
Thanks to your video, all those separate bird calls I thought were different birds in my yard are actually the chickadees! Blue Jays, Magpies, Flickers I got down pat, but these were tricky.
This bird is so beautiful. I have a set of them out in my backyard and I always open my window each morning to listen to their sound. Its one of the most peaceful feelings to hear them. Their color is simply beautiful as well.
I don't know why but this video made me smile. I hear this ALL the time! We have these birds right outside our house, and I LOVE to hear them calling. It makes me happy. :) Such happy little birds!!! (Oh, and my Budgies love this clip too lol)... I always feel so bad for these little birds since it gets really cold here in NE Pennsylvania...and snowy too! I try to put out seed for the birds to help them make it through the cold Winters...especially THIS one!
I hear ya, it has been a really cold winter in my location this year as well. Like you, I make sure to keep these little guys well stocked with sunflower seeds, peanuts and suet to get them through. Thanks for the nice comment, I'm glad that you and your budgie enjoyed the video :) I can relate to how you feel when you hear the cute little sounds of chickadees, happy appearing little birds for sure!!
Chickadees are always the first to greet me on early winter morning feedings. Their wings lightly touch my hair as they buzz by, they will occasionally land on my shoulder.
This is the sound I used to hear, waking up on a sunny morning in my grandmothers house, or when it was lunch time on the porch. This bird's call holds so much meaning for me. I've been trying to find it for month's I finally found it. Thank you
they're such gorgeous little birds. hearing their calls is oddly nostalgic, since it reminds me a lot of my childhood at my grandmother's house, where she lived very close to wildlife and chickadees were frequent guests. i really really love those little guys.
These are my favorite bird songs, and it’s nice to finally hear they are all from the Black-Capped Chickadee! Here in Oak Cliff, Tx (the forests of Dallas) I’ve heard some more extensive versions of the greeting songs. I also notice they can change the pitch of the first note, holding it out longer or shorter. Has anyone else heard this? They seem to actually be riffing at times. Most birds don’t express such freedom or variation in their songs. I have many recordings of these that I’ve captured on walks. Enchanting!
I Love these little birds!! Here in Colorado, a pair built a nest in a hole in a small tree in my front yard. Awsome little creatures. Beautiful they are.
@@mossversee i sometimes here " cheeseburger cheeseburger cheese" sometimes and ever since i made that connection before it won't stop being funny. Glad i'm not alone
I planted 2 heritage apple trees in my front yard 7 years ago and this year for the first time I noticed Chick A Dee's and Cardinals have been landing in them. Last year I planted a pear tree in the yard & several currant bushes. I love watching the birds with my morning tea. I opened the window and played your Chick A Dee calls & wow the birds really flocked to the apple tree. Thank you.
So happy hearing these birds everyday. I was raised in San Diego only hearing seagulls. I'm now retired living in Germany. Our yard is a symphony of bird songs.
My favorite bird! So adorable and friendly. Years ago, my Dad was on the lawn mower, mowing the lawn and a Chickadee landed on his shoulder. I have family of thwn that lives in our woods. I love looking for them. When I feed the birds, they don't fly away but just hop up to the branches above my head and wait. So cute!
My grandma and I used to sit in her dining room by this big window that had a great view of the backyard and we’d sit and watch all the birds that came by as she had many feeders and a large bird bath in the yard. Our favorite was the chickadee. Every time I see or hear one it reminds me of my grandma (she passed in 2015 ) and makes me really happy💕.
My husband and I just moved to the mountains and I've been trying to figure out the birds up here. Thank you for this video, it really helped me answer my question ❤
These birds are cheerful for reasons of survival. A sad Chickadee wouldn't live long. One used to land in my hair and pull some for its nest. Favorite bird!! Thanks for your beautiful vids.
Along with the robin, chickadees are abundant in my home state of Michigan; I grew up hearing both of their early morning songs, often in harmony first thing at dawn. They are the sounds of my youngest and happiest years.
SOOOO CUTE , SO LOVELY. I have wonderful cutie black-capped chickadees visit me on my balcony from the trees near by and they are the best cutie pies ever. This video makes me smile. :)
These are my favourite outside birds (I have a parrot and she's my favourite inside bird, lol). I have some in the tree outside my room, singing right now. In the winter they eat out of my hand. So cute! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Lesley , The chickadee is my favorite bird . That said , there are many bird calls I did not know .... until today , imagine my joy to find them to be my little chickadee ! Love the " dee dees " .
The chickadees around our yard in the country are so sweet and friendly. They don't seem to be afraid of the bigger birds at the feeders. When I go to fill the feeders, one or two always come close and say hello. Of course, I answer them!
This bird to me is iconic of New England. I seemed to hear it wherever I would hike; it's high - low long followed me everywhere. Then when I lived in Maine, I found out it was the state bird .. and the one I had been hearing for so long!
I've been hunting sitting on a tree, and I've seen about ten chickadees go through the woods searching for food in and around the living and dead trees. It's so cool to see.
Wow! I just left my phone in front of my bird feeder playing these chickadee calls. My regular chickadee came over chirping...mad as can be. It was fun to watch...he landed within two feet of me....witch isn't normal.
Lol I do love these birds for their assistance in cutting down mosquito numbers.. and they do have pretty songs and calls as well as some that can be a bit annoying.. usually only gets annoying when you are out camping and as soon as the morning blue hour comes so does their VERY LOUD "seet" call, or as I call it their "rattlesnake" calls 😂 it's even worse at our cabin because we also have American red squirrels.. and they are so extremely aggressive if you get to near their cache tree.. and they don't back off.. they are loud and also make a rattlesnake sound when they are mad and "yelling" at you to move away from their trees.. I Love nature
They remind me of winter, because them, crows/ravens, and a few strangler robins are the only birds to sing. I love the brave little bird, they are beautiful everytime I see them at my feeder.
Leslie, great video. I'm from Ottawa, Canada and we have these guys land on our feeders (and us) all the time. A black capped chickadee told me the other day that their 'Hey Sweetie' vocalization is, in fact, 'Spring's com-ing!' 'Spring's com-ing'. I guess that's why I look forward to hearing it so much in February/March.

It's always the birds you hear at such a young age you fondly love the most❤

Yesssss. And especially if they live in your area. They remind me so much of home. And always will

For me it's pigeons.
The song of a black-capped chickadee has always been one of my favorite sounds of life.
Mine too!! Something about the “Fee Bee” call (the one that starts @ :24) is so simple, sweet & nostalgic. It reminds me of childhood ☺️
Emily me too! I remember waking up to their song when I was a kid and whenever I hear them I feel a little bit happier, i love these lil guys so much
🥸
Same here. Chickadees are like old friends.
Thats a beautiful comment Abelhawk, Im sure the creator liked it too✝️❤️
I meet them regularly when I go snowshoeing. I always carry sunflower seeds and they come in my hand. They make your day a better one.
Do you wash your hand after they come in it? And that's gross, btw.
@@Soxruleyanksdrool grow up and get a life-whew...
They landed in my hand twice in one day and I had no bird seed! It was amazing.
Is this safe for the chickadees?? I want to try it
@@thievingpeppers1914 it's fine
They eat mosquitoes so they are always welcome where ever I am. And they're adorable, brave birds.
Jennifer Jordan I Live By A Pond And Mosquitoes Make Babies There So There Are A Lot Of Them Where I Live.
Chickadees are the toughest song bird, when everyone else heads south for the winter, they tough it out!
I tough out the winter by singing, too. Haha
Soooo cute
That is one of the reasons why they were nominated (and won) the title of being the state bird of Massachusetts. They tough it out for the winter. Lol
Brother Dunne - I appreciate their beauty & company

I just bought a bird feeder. These guys can't get enough of it!
FreakDaMIghet black oilers...they'll pick them off one by one all day long : - )
They literally knock ants off the young trees, send them flying.

I love their two tone whistle. When I go outside on break at work, I hear them whistling and whistle back 😅

Chickadees are the cutest little birds ever! So curious and sweet.
You know it’s spring when you hear these sounds in the morning :)
Luckily in east central Arkansas they are year around residents and I get 2 enjoy them as long as I got safflower seed 4 them.

Finally!!! I've been hearing this call since forever and could never find out who was singing! Now I know! Thank you so much. :)

I SO agree.
It’s amazing that such a small animal can make such a loud call. I love them!
In northern NJ, this sound is like oxygen -- it's everywhere. Love it...

Cardinals? House sparrows can only live near people, like rats and house centipedes do.
I love waking up to no other sound than this little bird accompanies by the mourning dove (AKA turtle dove). So beautiful!

I only feed in dead of winter. A, it attracts rats, and nasty pigeons, and B, they shouldn't rely on evil humans to feed them
Thank you, I'm so happy that you enjoyed the little calls and sounds these little cute birds make. Have a great evening :)
I love this bird. Favorite song to wake up to in the summer. :)
Yes Lucas, I agree. They are one of the sweetest sound to wake up to on those beautiful summer mornings :)
