Hi gpushkar12, it’s Shiela. Thanks so much for your kind words. I filmed this during the first 2 weeks of August in 2019. I thought of going back there to film a follow-up segment on the Chobe, but the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic hit and shut down much of the world. Beautiful place, I was so lucky to have filmed there. Thanks for visiting our channel!

Hi Luca, it's Shiela. Thank you so much for watching our video. I filmed this right before the Pandemic of 2020 shut Africa down for a little bit, so my gear will seem rather archaic. I was filming on the Chobe on the river boat/pontoon the entire time, so it was not advisable to have too much gear or too many gear changes while your filming platform shifts constantly. I shot this film with a Canon C200 cinema camera, Canon 100 - 400 mm photo lens with 1.4 tc, Canon 70-200 mm cinema lens with internal zoom and rocker; my old stand by (I really don't think they make it anymore!) RRStuff MH 350 cinema fluid head with RRS baby/ground pod on a 75 mm bowl; and a very early iteration of a Sachtler Flow Tech tripod 75 mm circa 2017 (I used the Sachtler for the rare scenes I filmed on dry land).
I do hope you get to film on the Chobe River. Filming on the Chobe is a definite challenge, and you will initially hate it for the many awesome shots you'll miss just because you're filming on the river. But once you get it, you'll love filming on the Chobe forever. I hope this info helps!

Good morning Luca - it's morning in Chicago - I shouldn't assume it's morning where you are, LOL. My apologies, I'm not sure if I had the Canon 100-400 first series. Most of my gear when I filmed this was Canon Cinema except for the Canon 100-400 mm photo lens, and sadly I sold all of my Canon cinema (or otherwise) gear - ah, I did hold onto my Canon C70, it's my favorite camera body when filming pumas. I now exclusively shoot with RED cameras. I love my REDS, but every once in a while I find myself reaching for my Canon(s). Happy filming and Happy 2024!!
