Great information.Thank you.I am distributing with Tunecore but after an year creating music and distributing with them I have almost zero results .It is not about money, but having streams means your music has been heard, something I dont have with them.I do confess I am not very good with promoting myself.I am an artist, not manager. All these playlists adds I see from time to time seems not easy to trust...So your video was helpful indeed. Thanks I will have to think about what to do with my next song which expect to be ready in about week may be.Somehow dont trust Tunecore will bring me some good luck.I wish you from my heart good luck and may the music be with you!
Man. This is the most informative, honest and inspiring video on this topic I've found. I didn't even expect inspiration :D Thank you for your advice and transparency on all of this mess that is releasing music. It's very much appreciated.
I'm currently on music gateway and had nothing but delays and none of my music on any music platforms . I'm just very frustrated right because they have my money each month but none of my music is not on a music platform. Bandcamp has the worst reviews , I know, I looked it up.
I stop music. My friend had a song that hit and got about 3 million Post of people using her music. In like 4 months time she got paid 130$ and the ban her from the distributor service. The told her that she had a streaming bot from TikTok. I was so confused. I told her the scum the money because it doesn't make sense that you can 2 million of does people using your song in their videos. Does look like bot to me.
What. 😅😅 You should take them to court ain't no way. TikTok pays when someone use your music on their post using your song in it. TikTok does pay per steam. That's is a lie Sue them look for a lawyer
3 Million views on a TikTok video she made? Or 3 million people used her song on their videos? If she has 10k+ followers and is eligible to monetize she should have gotten several thousand if she made the video, if ppl used her song 3 million times she should've gotten like $90k.
@@freshlysunlit she said 3M people using her music into their videos on TikTok. I'm sure if she's getting that much people using her music the shouldn't of scam her, the could at least offer her a different plan. I wouldn't sleep if that was me
@@freshlysunlit I easily got accepted to symphonic after I have applied, I guess they would need to review your submission first. With label engine I think they mainly focus on labels, but they do with independent artist as well
Honestly Distrokid aint a bad option, lots of ppl use them. If you want to only have a one time fee I'd go with EmuBands. If you want something that's completely free try RouteNote
Hey, I am kinda hopeless, so I gotta ask even here... Do you have any idea where to contact SoundCloud repost to get my old music deleted? I can't find it anywhere.
When you uploaded it you entered into a 1 year contract, you have to email them at support@repostnetwork.com within at least 60 days from the contract renewal date and request your music to be deleted. You can also just cancel your subscription and all your music will be deleted.
@@freshlysunlit Thank you so much! I have canceled my subscription like 4 months ago and it is still there... I went and messaged Spotify instead and they removed it for me. Thank you, though, I felt like it's almost impossible to find any contact.
@@freshlysunlit if you still using repost by SoundCloud as your distributor ? Im with tune core right now but I what a cheaper one, Distrokid is not an option whas my first one and they have a bad customer service.
@@silveramateur571 Yes, I'm currently still using them. I also have an album on CD Baby, and I'm considering migrating my all my releases to CD Baby. They have no annual fees so it's more expensive upfront, but cheaper in the long term.
@@freshlysunlit cdbaby sound better than tunecore im tired of paying every single anual, But im going to start for the moment with Repost then i will migrate to cdbaby
@@silveramateur571 Yeah, the annual fees are annoying. One thing to note about Repost by SoundCloud is you enter into a 1 year contact with each release where you can't move your music to another distributor, and you have to notify them at least 60 days before the end of that contract to terminate it and make your music available to migrate to another platform.
@@freshlysunlit They also have a paid plan around 20 something $ a year with even more and better features than the free option + faster release times. I was about to switch to Repost by SoundCloud but after the PewDiePie incident it does not seem very trustworthy anymore 😅
@@brysonmercuryYeah, that incident made me question them as well. The Amuse premium plan does look pretty nice. Doesn't hurt to give em a try! Always good to find the Terms of Service and what kind of contract your entering into first. Like with Repost by Soundcloud I found out it's a year contract with every release so you can't even change distributors unless you notify them to not renew your contract.
Pretty much. Basically all the stores (iTunes, Spotify, amazon) outsource the actual uploading of music to their platforms to third party companies, some of which are kinda shady. But there are more and more free options popping up, so that's good.
Oh man just wait until you find out there are no more free distrubtors not only that Ditto (my distributor) scammed me by taking 99% of my royalties and now they don't allow me to use my own Isrc codes... Totally Fkd up
My initial impression is positive. Seem like a decent company offering competitive services. They're a new kid on the block so there aren't any reviews so there's a bit of a risk with using them since they're unproven. Also they're based in Georgia (the country) so have to note that for tech support.
You are making amazing, informative content for artist, keep up the good work!
