Thanks for uploading this. This route meant a lot to me as a child because my family would often catch the Dimboola train from Ballarat to visit my grandparents in Stawell on weekends. I was heartbroken when the service was cancelled during the Kennett years, especially when we had to drive instead afterwards and see the line next to the highway rusting away and having trees grow through it. I was glad to see it at least restored to Ararat in 2004.
Thanks for sharing your video of Wendouree to Beaufort has great railway traveling. How about from Beaufort to Ararat stations, if you have time, so I enjoy fun on the railway interesting! :)
@@driver667 Hi, yes, I watched today for Beaufort to Ararat is a great video really interesting also beautiful viewing along the country. Thanks for sharing amazing!! :)
I really enjoyed this video - many thanks for posting it. Just one comment: Burrumbeet Racecourse Junction was actually near the occupation crossing at the 8:05 minute mark. I researched this on site several years ago, when the formation of the branch was clearly visible, before it was obliterated by the freeway works.
@ 8:21. On the left(car park) is a great Anzac memorial built into the underneath of the freeway underpass bridges and on the right is a lovely and very long (several Kms) Avenue of Honour stretching all the way to near Learmonth.
Wish decent horns that aren't extremely annoying could be fitted to V/Locity trains. The current ones are sounding just like a fart in a pickle bottle!
Lol, I guess the fact that they sound annoying is what the people in charge wanted so people would notice the train coming 😂 I do think an N class horn sounds better though 😂 👍

@@peterhooper7610 no problem. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 😊 👍
First time I've seen a cab view of this line beyond Ballarat. Very enjoyable.
Glad to hear you liked it 👍 😊
That brought back memories as a child went from Ararat to Melbourne and back on steam trains.
Glad it brought back memories for you of those travels 👍😊
Nice video! Have never seen videos or rode further west then Ballarat.
Glad you enjoyed the ride past Ballarat 👍😊

Thank you for pointing that out. I managed to get that slightly a little to far along. 😊👍
Wonderful video
Very happy you enjoyed the video 👍 😊

I see they have built this. Very good 👍 The Burrumbeet racecourse line followed the Avenue of Honour to the racecourse.
The Ballarat Avenue of Honour has 3801 trees and is 22 kilometres long - the longest such avenue in the world.

Some five chime would be nice
Yes I often think they sound weak from inside the cab.

8:26 Avenue of Honour!
👍🙂
The line is being upgraded 😊
Yes it is receiving new concrete sleepers 😊👍
Get used to bus travel for a while with the sleeper replacement work
That would be good advice I would think.
What upgrades are being done to the Ararat line? also is this on VL46 on april 18 at about 10am?
Replacing sleepers with concrete along the line for a better ride. Was on a different day and vlocity to that.
Needs a Ballarat to Wendouree then it will be perfect.
That section is included in the video 'Ballan to Wendouree'. 👍🙂
Are they going to increase speeds?
I don't believe so. 👍😀
