I was born into the LDS church 70 years ago. I am a great grandson of Lorenzo Snow, whose sister, Eliza, married the Prophet in the Nauvoo temple. I am so grateful for my LDS ancestors and for the values that they inspired in me when i was young. I still live by these values, and in a nation that is falling apart I thank God I am LDS!
That’s awesome. I have ancestors who were pioneers and members of the seventy. My dad is my bishop right now and it’s been a great blessing to have him and my mom as my example. I hope more people will come into Christ and I hope to serve a mission and help in bringing them to Christ
Appreciate your comment. Years ago I met a Presbyterian minister on my mission in Texas. He loved the hymn come come ye Saints. We got permission to sing it with his congregation’s choir. It was a wonderful experience.
I was baptized Nov 2014 and not even 2 months later I got sick with an unknown autoimmune disease... I would not still be alive had Joseph not brought backk the Gospel. I know I don't have much longer here on this Earthly plane but now, I am not worried where I will go when that time happens for me. I know where I will go and I hope I can thank him when I get there personally because without him, I wouldn't have know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. :')
God Bless you, Sister. My wife was also diagnosed with Lupus last 2017, which caused a miscarriage, three years after being baptized. It has been a great challenge for us to the point that we question our faith. Today she is still struggling, in pain, and unsure of what's going to happen, and there's nothing we can do about it. But the lesson of the restored gospel aligns us back to our faith and the path towards eternity. As we keep on pushing and having faith in Him, I know that we are not alone in this fight.
Glad to hear you have that hope! I'm sorry to hear about the disease. :( The gospel brings hope and peace to know that everything will truly work out in the end, and that everything will be okay. Where you are going is a safe place. :)
Both my grandparents died a few months ago, but I’m not sad because I know that families are together forever ❤️ Because I know the gospel is true, I know I’ll be with them again ❤️
I was baptised on April 7th in the year of 1956. Thanks to my parents who listened to the spirit and realized that they finally knew what they had been taught was true. I have been active ever since and I do not know what my life would be with out the Gospel in it. My sisters and my brother were all baptised at the age of 8 also.
God is great to the extents i have recieved knowledge about Him and is our friend. I too was batized at age 8. This post caught my eye at first because april 7th is my birthday :) have a great day
barbara larsen Hello from Thailand brother for me I baptised 2012 ,I'm protastant before but I know Jesuse still lives and I believe the Book of Mormon is so true and strick of you'd a same the Bible .thanks for your shearing Your exprerence .Im a child of God .
I am Native American, and my mom was the first to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Day Saints. I'm forever grateful for all she sacrificed so we can have the gospel in our lives.
I love this song and know of myself that he was ordained by God to bring to pass the restoration of all things. People may criticize because he made mistakes along the way but I say we all do. God used him to bring about His restoration and bring His truth back to the world despite his imperfections. It's amazing and awesome in the short amount of time from the restoration to today how far the message has spread. Like the stone cut out of the mountains without hands it rolls forth and will continue to roll forth until it fills the whole earth. I became converted to the gospel while deployed to Iraq and met up with an LDS chaplain while searching for religious truth. I am always glad for that day and say there needs to be more chaplains of our faith in the military.
I know Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. I knew it for a surety the moment I walked into the museum of Joseph and Hyrum Smith at the Temple square in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I do testify in the holy name of my beloved Saviour Jesus Christ, amen.
All this rendition needs is bagpipes and more drums and you have a Scottish march! Powerful! Raised near Carthage, Il and a convert in high school. The church is true!
10 years ago working at the Provo temple I will never forget an opening devotional the temple President gave. He said the line of power that has always stayed with me. He said, "I wouldn't know my Savior if it wasn't for the Prophet Joseph Smith." I Revere the Prophet, and I Worship my Savior. I love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope as many as possible will open their hearts to truths that are shared therein. May God's Love be felt by all.
This is, in my opinion, one of the most powerful Tabernacle Choir arrangements, but the thing I love about this video (excepting the aforementioned music) is in the first 25 seconds. The orchestra is warming up, and then the conductor steps up. The orchestra quiets, and you hear the performers shuffle. Then the conductor raises his baton, and there is silence. It is a beautiful show of musicianship.

I can testify that the Lord saw to it that even though I was born outside the Church (to a great father and mother) I would be led to the Gospel. When I graduated from high school in 1960 I went right to the Air Force. My first duty station after training was the northern most tip of Japan (Wakkanai). I was a big fan of the current pop music scene then so a buddy of mine invited me to visit our on-base AFRTS radio station where he was a volunteer DJ to look over the record library. After I'd been there about an hour, he offered that I should do the next station break. I said OK so when it reached the top of the hour, I opened the microphone and said "Serving American Forces overseas, this is the Far East Network". The first words out of his mouth when I shut the mic off were "You need to volunteer here". I did and did 2-3 shifts a week until I transferred stateside. That was 1962, and I moved to my new duty station in West Texas. There, I did the USAF by day and got a gig at the local Top 40 station at night. After I left the service, it took a couple of radio jobs and lo and behold, I landed a morning show in (of all places) Salt Lake City. 3 years later, I was baptized into the Church. Being able to work as a radio DJ and being sent to the right place to learn how was a special blessing that I give thanks for every day. I feel it is absolute proof that the Lord can work in many ways to lead one to the Gospel because it sure did for me.
I was born into the church, and am a faithful member. The message this music brings truly represents the holiness of the Prophet Joseph, being brought close to the Father and Christ in order to restore the true and everlasting gospel! I thank the Father every day that I know the truth of this church!
I love this hymn and lots of the LDS hymns (and those in my own Catholic tradition too) and I sing every day. It's wonderful. I don't know people below criticise things. Live and let live. We are lucky in the UK (and US) to live in countries with more religious (and atheist) freedom than most of the world. Long may it last.
Joan, I loved your comment!! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon), but I enjoy listening to a lot of Catholic UA-cam channels. I find that we can find truth and uplifting and insightful messages and music across a wide range of faiths, without lessening our commitment to our own. ❤
I am very moved by the hymn, "Praise to the Man." I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet through the power of the Holy Ghost. I am so grateful that the Savior, Jesus Christ, restored His church through that prophet. The gospel of Christ means everything to me.
The more truth I learn about the life of Joseph Smith, the more love I have for him. He is a prophet of Jesus Christ and gave up his life for this great work! Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ!
James 1:5 really works. Joseph Smith saw all that he said he did. He was, and is, a prophet of God. I know it is so because God has told me it is true. And, He told me more than once. The first time it was so crystal clear the thought "It's as plain as the nose on your face!" literally leaped into the forefront of my consciousness. "Praise to the man!", indeed!
Me too! The Holy Ghost touched my spirit with such power that I will never forget; it was ingrained in my soul forever that Joseph, the Church and Book of Mormon are true and the work of God.
I know the truth of what nancy has written. I have been the benefactor of a familiy who loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and lives it. Restored through a Prophet of God even Joseph Smith. SkenneygirlTan find missionaries listen to them and pray for yourself. Who knows maybe even you will have this wonderful and perfect knowledge of God's plan
Thank God, the Prophet Joseph Smith opened the last dispensation, we should avail ourselves as there will be no other opportunity to save ourself and forebears.
@@---zc4qt 22 And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end. 23 And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin. 24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things. 25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. 26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever,
This song brought me to the church long before i was invited. at the watch conference i gave my life though the inspiring words of President Thomas S. Monson about the Communing with God and making reference from That Hymn. i Love the Church
How can anyone deny the spirit of God that is felt when this song is sung. The prophet Joseph Smith was unlike any other man in this world. He was bold, noble, and loving. He a had a heart of a lion. He had the love of God and had a strong desire to bless the whole human race. because he was a true prophet, the people hated and despised him like unto the Savior. He was rejected by the people and killed by the mobs. He taught true principles of Christ and obeyed everything the Lord has asked him to do. Truly he was a prophet, seer, revelator, and translator. He sought only the kingdom of God and had only goodly thoughts and desires. Today many people mock, rail and slander his ever great name just like Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a living Testament of the living God and Jesus Christ.
I love this song because it is very powerful. We can hear a lot of songs, with wonderful voices, but this is one song that truly stands out from the rest. 💯🙏😍💖
I always felt the spirit of God whenever I sing and heard this hymn "praise to the man." It always brought back to my mind what happened in the grove where at a young age, Joseph prayed fervently without doubt in faith his prayers was answered--that God and the Father appeared to him. I am grateful and strongly believe that he is called by God to restore the gospel that once taken on earth and will continue its progress until God's work shall be rolled forth every corner of the world. I am grateful and blessed that I accepted heartily The Book of Mormon, which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that I am one of the beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is my Saviour. My testimony will always be kept in my heart and mind eternally.
I learned through Genealogy that I am related as a cousin to Hyrum, Joseph, and Don Carlos threw Lucy Mack on my mother's side who joined the church as the first member of her family back in 1958. I have been a member since 1960. I have a rich history in the early church through hundreds of member cousins to the beginning. It would have never been known to me if my mother had not listened to the missionaries and received her testimony of the restored gospel. She passed away peacefully at the age of 90 and never faltered. What a blessing in my life The Church has been to me and my family.
I bear you my testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and restored Christ's church in this last dispensation upon this earth and that Christ lives and we as Saints must try to live like Christ as best as we can listening to that still small voice his Holy spirit amen
How glorious is this song about Joseph. To bear testimony of him is to bear testimony of the Son and the Father. How wonderous. Words are so lacking to explain
This is one of my favorite hymns by the choir. This is a favorite of one of my less active brothers. It is my hope that he, and his family will come back to the church someday. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in California. This hymn along with many others by the choir give me a greater sense of joy in serving the Lord.
Good luck on the mish! Your testimony, sacrifice, and desire to bring people to Christ is a beautiful example to your brother. Hopefully they will see that and have a desire to come back. I believe you and all your family will be very, very blessed. 😊
Who says you can't go home again. You just did. I was born in Ithaca, New York in 1938. There was always a feeling about those woods but it took adulthood to know what it was. Thank you for taking me home again. Thanks to my children for naming their boys such "worthy" names; something to live up to. And so the journey continues, thanks to our Lord.
There are many "Josephs" in our family. My own son was named after two prophets - Jared & Joseph. My mother's father was a Joseph and the name is used in four connecting lines. I am surprised that my mother didn't name one Jehosephat since she used it so often when she got frustrated. Is it any wonder that this became my favorite song? And now this Choir rendition is another very favorite. (My mother was a contralto singer) She often said I "couldn't carry a tune in a bucket". I actually sang on radio -just once - when it was a surprise birthday celebration for me and a request of my "friends" to prove I couldn't sing. I did the best I could impromptu, and perhaps that was the trick - they laughed at me and teased me for fooling them. It was I that was fooled! Isn't it wonderful to go back in time. What would old age be worth if we didn't have our memories - good and bad. At 72 and many professional careers under my proverbial "belt"! WHAT A JOURNEY IT HAS BEEN.
I Took A Trip Down There With A Couple Of Friends Of Mine We Had A Blast We Learned About Prophet Joseph Smith And His Life And How He Met God And His Son Jesus Christ And We Went To The Navoo Temple
I’m so sorry to hear that, may god bless you and your family to the greatest extent. Just know that time heals all wounds, regardless of the severity. Sending you love and a sense of hope.
Sorry to hear that. There is something about bagpipes that are incredibly touching to me as well. Touches me down to my soul. I'm going to look for that version. Thank you, both you and your Mom!
Praise Joseph Smith✴✴✴ I love this man, his life seeking truth with his trust in the Lord brought the restoration. brought this Gospel to this earth were I may Partake of its Glory. He is in my Heart, and I am very Grateful for the Early Saints. there sacrifices are not forgotten.
Thank Heavenly Father for calling a prophet in our dispensation to restore the Church of Jesus Christ! Now those who accept the gospel can return to our heavenly abode once again.
Thank you brother Joseph. In the millennium I am anxious to see the Savior and the prophets of old. I also hope to see you there also! Haven't seen you since the premortal life:) #LDS
+SKenneyGIrl Tan hmmmmmm.... in all my years in YT this is the first bridge troll I have ever seen that thinks itself both 'SKenney' and 'Tan'... this one unusually deluded. Poor thing. Hey don't feed it guys and maybe it will just leave and find a mirror (for it's soul).
I love this song. I listened to it first in Palmyra New York and since then I have listened to it over and over again. I love it and hope you all have the spirit when you hear it as much as I do.
Would love to hear "Praise to the Man" play with bag pipes & Mormon Tabernacle Choir together, that would make this beautiful more beautiful song better.

I was baptized June 16, 2001 in Buhi Brach, Iriga District under Naga Mission Philippines. Thanks to Elder Matthew Schleker from Canada and to Elder Ericson Mata from Bulacan who taught us my family about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Fisrt Vision.

I'm pretty sure the tune is a variation of Dark Lochnagar, which is a Scottish folk tune.
It’s very close to Scotland the Brave.
I am New Apostolic and I love this choir. Makes me feel a touch of heaven when they sing. Brothers in Christ, thank you for the music, touches my soul

I am the First who were baptized in my family June 16. 2001 and I'm so thankful for the fullnes of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Studying about Joseph Smith, this hymn has such a greater meaning to me now and WOW, very moving!! Joseph is truly a prophet of God!!
He is the prophet of this dispensation! Amazing man.
I was born into the church, and am a faithful member. The message this music brings truly represents the holiness of the Prophet Joseph, being brought close to the Father and Christ in order to restore the true and everlasting gospel! Thank God, the Prophet Joseph Smith opened the last dispensation, we should avail ourselves as there will be no other opportunity to save ourself and forebears.
Save from what? Mormonism teaches that the FALL of Adam was a GOOD thing.
And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever,
Adam and Eve were fictional characters

Thank you for your testimony. I too am so grateful for the restoration!
Actually, it was Jesus Christ who opened the last dispensation. He also called his servant, Joseph Smith to assist in that endeavor. See Amos 3:7
This song brought me to the church long before i was invited. at the watch conference i gave my life though the inspiring words of President Thomas S. Monson about the Communing with God and making reference from That Hymn. i Love the Church
What a cool music video!
I love seeing the choir in their normal human clothes. It shows that they are normal humans (with angelic voices). :)
I cannot.
to true
La musique est magnifique et le portrait du prophète Joseph et très bien peint merci
I love this song because it is very powerful. We can hear a lot of songs, with wonderful voices, but this is one song that truly stands out from the rest. 💯🙏😍💖
I would like to thank the Prophet Joseph for helping me gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. I love you Brother Joseph!
How we love Brother Joseph!
이 찬송가는 제일 좋아하는 음악입니다.
힘들때 힘이 되어주는 곡입니다.
OhYes‼️ Thanks be to the Eternal Father in heaven, This is the Church Of Jesus Christ our LORD, restored to the earth by the Prophet Joseph Smith!
The voices of Angels.
I am a 3rd generation of Latter Day Saints! I am a 3rd great grand daughter of a real pioneer! And proud of it! Joseph Smith will always be a prophet!
I'm forever grateful for the restored Gospel. And this hymn reminds me blessed are we to live in this dispensation.
Thank you Prophet Joseph Smith for restoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ on this Earth. 🙏🙏🙏
Je suis très touché par la puissance de ce chœur qu'est formidable et rempli d'amour...gloire à Dieu et à son Prophète...Amen❤❤❤
I get chills, fire in my bones when i listen to this Mack Wilberg version. This choir is awesome and so is the prophet Joseph Smith.
If the heavens opened you'd be so surprised how well you knew Brother Joseph.
The hymn just makes tears roll from my eyes as I enjoy the true gospel on this planet

I absolutely love the tabernacle choir.
Wow, such a powerful rendition of this amazing song. I am in awe.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE MUSIC 🎶 IT HELPS ME ALOT AS A MORMON MEMBER 😇
What an absolutely gorgeous rendition of this hymn. So heavenly. 🙏💗
The bagpipe version of this was my mother's ring tone. She passed on Feb. 24, 2020.

+SKenneyGIrl Tan lol you most defiantly won't either with that attitude
misinformed
SKenneyGirl
You guys need meds
With such a twisted world it feels great to sing about a prophet of God. It’s meaning includes the truth and morality he stood for
I love this song. I listened to it first in Palmyra New York and since then I have listened to it over and over again. I love it and hope you all have the spirit when you hear it as much as I do.
