@@joewolfson Which was why during the half dozen or so play throughs I’ve done, I made stopping the falling rocks my first priority. Not only to bring peace to Crystal Caves, but allowing me to better concentrate on the primary objective: “Oh, Banana!”
My childhood ❤ so bittersweet to hear this…It makes me smile, but also tear up knowing I won’t experience the same feelings I did when I played this game as a child
OMG, when I was young, I decided that, each day, I must came in crystal cave to just listen to that INCREDIBLE song ! Today, as a man of 21 years old, I'm still amazed by the melody, these sweet notes and memories from my childhoog playing to DK64 !! 😱🥰
@@inafridge8573 I very rarely see him mentioned on lists that feature Koji Kondo, Jesper Kyd, Inon Zur, Nobuo Uematsu, Jeremy Soule, etc, even David Wise, who also famously composed for Rareware gets credited a lot, very infrequently see Kirkhope
Sometimes I wonder what Dk64 soundtrack would of been if David Wise was the lead composer. Honestly though, I’m so glad Grant Kirkhope was chosen for the job because this song is an absolute masterpiece!
The fact that he composed about all the songs for the game, Banjo Kazzoie, and some of the songs in Kingdom Battle & Sparks of Hope shows just how talented he is, even with voicing as DK, giving him a touch, yet chilled and laid-back vibes! Such a genius.
I hate to say this but dear god if anyone actually looks at my digital footprint and I die unexpectedly- this is the song I want everyone to hear at the fnrl.
I swear to God, 3:40 to 4:00 sounds like Theme of Laura from Silent Hill 2, specifically at 1:25 of that song. If you played the game, you’d never forget that song. (Btw I recognize that profile pic; let’s go utahime!)
I will be forever unable to experience this without a hint of dread that the ceiling is going to fall on me at any moment
I used to just stand still in crystal caves just to listen to this music. Very Beautiful.
me too lol
Then the rocks would come crashing down

@@michaelmurray7199 amen!
Same here.
I remember nearly tearing up when I first heard this
Yeah the first few seconds hit it right off the bat
And then you crapped your pants when the Kosha music started
Then my heart stops with the cave start falling lol
Tearing up? Why?
Three words come to mind when those rocks start falling: "Holy crap, RUN!!" XD
The times sure have passed
I use it for days at work at night, very useful to be concentrated with the peaceful of the night
This music is one of the reasons why Crystal Caves is one of my favorite levels in the game. So relaxing and beautiful.
Such a beautiful melody, it fits so well with exploring an unknown and mystical world.
Two Words: Childhood Nostalgia.
My childhood ❤ so bittersweet to hear this…It makes me smile, but also tear up knowing I won’t experience the same feelings I did when I played this game as a child
Or anyone youthful these days for that matter.. All they care about is raging online and purchasing more useless skins to use in Fortnite x(

Grant Kirkhope is massively underrated as a composer
I dunno, he's probably one of the most name-recognized composers out there

@@jhoch5 i agree . he did kingdoms of amalur too and nobody says anything about that

Yeah a huge shame he didn’t get credited in the Mario movie’s credits when they used the DK rap
Beautiful music
put this on when i went to bed, slept within 5-10 minutes
Está Increíble La Música De Cristal Caves
I used to put this on at 3 am for my newborn daughter to sleep. How I miss that ❤️
Play it for her again. Tell us how she reacts.

I will most likely never play this game, but by god I can always admire the work of Grant Kirkhope.
There’s always hope that N64 online will pull through

So beautiful
I love this world! My favorite part of the song: 0:46
Donkey Kong 64 is easily Grant Kirkhopes best OST
He went all out. I love this and Perfect Dark
For me its dk64 and banjo tooie
I listen to this while I do yoga
I think this is used in a video about a smart little Pyro called Professor Pyrowise.

Magic
It's too bad this song got interrupted ever 5 secs by falling rocks :/
Not once you take out the giant culprit at the top who's doing it.

Talking about an underrated soundtrack
I think dk64 soundtrack gets overshadowed by the banjo kazooie soundtrack, but this game had some real bangers as well
Really cootans
My friend, what made you find this song today?
Sounds like Donkey Kong wants to visit Banjo kazooies world.
sounds like something from Spyro
タイニーの声をイメージしちゃう
Sounds like music from the Night at the Museum movies.
Omg I thought I was the only one who’s made that comparison!!!
