That's actually extremely useful. I'm a closed booth guy myself. If I was to get this booth, I would probably keep those on so I can put cardboard sides up against them, so I can have my cake and eat it too with all those nice features.
I thought that too but we need that side attack to spray towards the filter airbrush es are larger than expected when using a booth was afraid overspray but use what Robert is saying
as a 44 year old man who knew Gundam as a kid and picked up his passion for modeling again after a trip to Japan and above all after at least 30 years, seeing a person like you, passionate and committed to sharing content here on UA-cam, I can't do anything else than to thank you for the amount of valuable information you regularly give us. I'm sure it's a really great effort on your part! It also makes me smile to see how you have an entire workshop overflowing with equipment, while I struggle to use a can of clear coat to spray in the bathroom without my girlfriend killing me and without making a mess of dirt and stink. Sooner or later I'll find a place to put a compressor and an airbrush, damn it
My wife just said Typical man didn't read the instructions I still do it all the time I get bad with model kits after you have built so many of the same kit over and over for years I can 100 % build most ww2 Aircraft without looking but I never go by the instructions anyway. But that what makes you a good UA-cam channel you are always Honest with the Viewers .keep up the great work 👍
When I received my super-mini peace keeper. I left those two braces in place, since I'm storing variouse hobby/model bulk materials & supplies on top of unit. I have a suggestion for a future video. How about "putty" both the tube putty like testers and tamiya and/or two part epoxy putty like milliput and kneadatite. Great channel Robert, love it.
Thank you very much for the update because now it looks like a much bigger work space. Thank you again, everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😊God Bless 🙏
In the early '80s, I built my own booth from plans in one of the (at the time) many model railroad magazines. Just the parts: aluminum panels, angles, hardware, lamp, and vapor proof blower, cost almost $200. There were no commercially available hobbyist booths at the time. So don't let the price tag scare you. Quality tools may cost, but they last and last, and are well worth the investment.
Honestly I kinda like it with the shipping supports on. *shrug* Either way it's a very nice piece of kit. Good on you for giving it the full treatment Robert.
I’ve got one of Bob’s original ‘36 in booths that I purchased about 19 or 20 years ago. I built models professionally and worked with Revell/Monogram as a box art/ catalog builder and have sprayed hundreds if not thousands of pieces in my booth and it has never let me down. Wonderful product!!!
Hey Rex, when I read the just in, Headlines I rush to turn on and only to watch the AB fall over about for times and then it did clunk over onto the tip of the needle but you where protected by them new exciting tip guards, oh my lands never ending, fantastic live show enjoy the funny short take! 😅😂🍔🍟🥤
Hello friend, I noticed that there is a big difference between the mini and the super mini, the light as you explained in your first video but the other difference is that the sides come out to the front edge thus making the working area more enclosed. I still waiting on the second release of your airbrush 🎉😊
Oh yeah, I go back to their debut CD, love them. Too bad we don't hear from them anymore. That said Michael Romeo's latest War Of The Worlds Part 2 is fantastic
Would like to see you test AK True Metal, a wax based metal paint that can be polished to a high shine. Don't forget to replace the screws in the booth, it says to in the directions lol.
No worries Sir Rex, everyone makes a mistake here and there. You said in video, you are looking for ideas for new testing? I have one. Would love to see you test Mission Models Paint in the near future. Thanks.
anyway you can have gaahleri to manufacture and swallow tail holder like mr hobby has the black one with the magnet on the bottom. so it's easier to rest the airbrush down for like taking a quick break or quick cleaning while having the hose connected. ive been using the black plastic mr hobby gsi creos holder but it still doesn't sit on it perfectly. i appreciate your hard work and keep on spraying
Well now that makes the workspace much larger in appearance and looks much more efficient to work in. Thanks for the update and follow thru. A minor detail, yet you caught yourself and shared the information with us. Thank you for proving we all can overlook a simple every once in a while.
I'll look forward to the video with vices, I don't have a heavy Vice but the small Vice I have does help alot and only takes up a small corner of my bench
I am going to be doing some large-scale 1/350 ships and a 1/200 Titanic. I have always looked at these and never pulled the trigger. But, I will be. The question I have is do you think the mini can handle those sizes or should I go with the 36" Peace Keeper? I have room for either size. Thank you and thank you for all of the great videos.
Just throwing out an idea I had after the last video. I had mentioned I have the 36" version of the Pace booth. I was wondering if Bob Pace has considered having an option of a compressor line connector and or quick connect option? It would be neat to have a way of connecting your line and airbrush straight to the booth if you have a compressor that you leave in a more permanent location.
I think I might have your next product to test. Recently discovered this myself. New company for me deluxe materials. Product called, “Looks like glass” you can dip clear plastic into the jar and it does an amazing job of making it look like glass. But the test would be, can you spray it in airbrush and would it make a good clear coat? Anywho love the content and one of my favorite channels. Keep up the great work!
Have you ever made a video of you building and painting a model whether it was a car or gundam? I been watching other videos working on models and I always see you reviewing stuff but it be nice to see you in action. Anyway hope you having a great new year so far.
Idea for future promo: Take a new model kit. Use the parts from the kit for your paint tests (versus the spoons). Then build that model with all the multicolored parts. Then give that completed model away in a contest. People could "win the show."
I would be tempted to leave the shipping braces on and use them to mount a couple L.E.D. light strips for more light from the front. Older eyes need all the light they can get.
Hi Mr. Rex, I have a question about finishes. Many modelers say you should put a gloss clear coat finish on your model before applying the decals. I’m beginning to think that is true, but is it ok to put an acrylic varnish over acrylic paint? I don’t really know anything about varnishes. I know acrylic is water based so the acrylic varnish would be to, but being a varnish I don’t know if that would resist the water when applying decals, I messed up the paint job on the plane I was working on trying to straighten up a decal, so I want to put the right clear coat on to avoid any further issues like that. Thank you. And have a good day
Try using LED screw in bulbs, get the daylight hue bulbs, what a difference, I switched all of my bulbs over to LED daylight, no golden hue, lights everything up in its true color
Beautiful looking booth. Do you have any booth recommendations for painting cosplay helmets? I think I need something a little deeper. Thanks for sharing.
I use an Iwata HP/BCS with upgraded adjustable tailpiece. Its a 0.5mm nozzle size. Build quality is top of the industry. I paint O scale railroad models that can be quite large, where the extra capacity of the bottles can be a benefit. I also just purchased the Barbatos Rex edition of the Swallowtail with the fan tip. The larger cup that comes with it is big enough for most of what I shoot in one loading.
Not a fan of siphon feed airbrushes. I actually did a video about why. But that's just me. Not a fan of cleaning the jars when I'm finished. I think it's a pain to clean the jars, tubes, gaskets and what not. Again that's just me
@@barbatosrex9473 Indeed correct on bottle cleaning! One advantage of the bottles is a greater range of motion in orientation of the airbrush itself. This is rarely much of a problem, but on the rare occasion it might be a blessing, such as when painting on a model railroad layout from the underside, up into a tunnel area. Most of the 'need' for bottle siphon are rare, and somewhat exotic. 99% of the time, even 99.99% of the time, a top cup with a cap is going to be just fine.. and FAR easier to clean up. One advantage of bottles, is that I can unscrew the siphon cap, and screw on a regular airtight cap, keeping the mixed paint ready for next use. Back in the 1960s, I used and still have, Thayer and Chandler AA that uses open cups, but side mount. They can be oriented in any direction, but in reality, are harder to use than a top cup. My old T&C is about to be retired and replaced with a 0.3 Gaahleri, top cup. I would love to go to a Custom Micron Iwata, but at over $500 and the Gaahleri being so close in performance at a well under $100 price point... I'm heading there.
Hi how's it going? I'm looking for a good silver lacquer spray paint, And the Tamiya one is $20 a can. Do you know of any that are close to that good for a lot less money?
Question! I recently start using airbrush, but primer seems to come off during "masking" phase. not all of them but "some" part comes off with masking tape... (I'm running around all the hobby builder and asking similar questions! cuz I really need help!) - I warm washed the pieces, dried them. - Using Badger Primer - put masking tape of cutting mat few time on/off to lose the 'stickiness' - waited about 24 hr before painting/masking Is sanding required before putting primer...?
Depends on what you're primimg. If I spray primer on my spoons and then put tape on it, it will come off. But if u prime say an aircraft model it won't. Depends on the plastic. I would sand the surface to give it more bite. Could also be a bad batch of Stynylrez, if it ever gets cold it gets ruined. Sometimes when shipping it in cold environments it gets damaged
I only use a mask half the time. I don't find many hobby paints that caustic, I wear one with 2K and auto paint. You will be fine with this booth, it's awesome
Hey, now it looks expensive. But here's the real problem you caused, you just cost me £100. In your video, just over your shoulder, a Hasegawa Porsche 968CS model box keeps coming into shot. I didn't know anyone did one until then. Now I have one on the way 😁.

I have the mini booth. I called him today about the Merv rating for the air filter. He said to use a 6 or lower.
Hopefully People read this
Thanks for the added information.
I do appreciate you doing a follow up video on ever detail on this booth! I went to the sight unfortunately it’s way to far out of my budget 😢

Less mistake, more omission. Also, I seen in the instructions that it says to, "Replace screws." Not sure if you saw that. Very nice spray booth.

I highly recommend the magnetic LED lights and buy 3

Now THAT’S a spray booth. Less claustrophobic now! Thanks for the updated video.
Suggestion reuse one of the top screws and the predrilled hole with a nylon wire holder to hold the wire from your added light out of the way.
I am glad you gave the booth a high rating. I purchased the 24 Super Min last year and glad I did. Keep up the good reviews.
That definitely makes more sense and looks better

I have the same booth and really like it.
Is that sheet metal that a magnet would work on? If so, I could see that being very handy in numerous ways.
Yes magnets work on it. Check out yesterday's video where I review this booth, I attach a magnetic led light strip to it
I bought the mini plus with an upgraded motor and it's super quiet.
you are too funny - love your videos - thank you for sharing your knowledge
Awesome Booth 👍🏿
For a super mini, this thing is ruge LOL. Thanks for more tips big bro.HUgs
love my pace,i would replace the screws.....and like your videos
One more step - "replace screws". 😊
Can you please link those little metal tins you use for mixing paint all the time?

@@michaeltana4706 thanks. I'll have to check them out.
Are they heavy? Being disabled in a power chair weight is a huge factor. They look great
do you put the screws back in the sides? or just have the holes?
Input the screws back in. I did it after the video.
Great job keepem coming
Thank you I will 👍
We do that from to time lol
How much for that Ashima ZX900R GPz900R Ninja 1/12 Scale Model Kit? =)
