Hi, Patrick! I would like to say thank you very much for your videos. I see you as my virtual mentor, who guides me to keep on the right track. My mindset is focused on my goals because of you, you changed my life. I'm a Business student from Brazil. God bless you and your family. Thank you!
I find Mad Men to be extremely Informative about business and relationships, and about the successes and pitfalls to be had in both. It's entertaining as well!
I would say the Lord of the Rings trilogy because on the one hand it starts with a very small undertaking at the beginning, a ring in an envelope. Only Gandalf suspects that it is more than a ring you can vanish with. At the end this small ring basically causes a war, alliances, etc. Everyone is after it as it is the epitomy of power, even kind people turn bad or even evil. This teaches you how to deal with the dark side of business, becoming too obsessed and crossing bad boundaries and losing or keeping your sense of ethics and how hard it is. Crossing boundaries and venturing into new territory is part of entrepreneurship, and very valuable, but you see it way too often that entrepreneurs totally lose their sense of ethics and community for the sake of their own company. A company becoming your identity as a person like the ring in e.g. Golum's case is a risk many entrepreneurs face. And the ring also shows that something seeming so harmless and small can become the elephant in the room. It teaches you that if it is power you are after and that becomes your sole purpose, it will eat you alive.
dear Patrick, since 3 days i have changed my life, i didn't want to be lazy anymore. In december 2017 i dropped out of school because i couldn't learn in the way the school wanted me to learn, i felt it killed my creativity, i always want to do it my way and in school it always needed to be like how the teacher wants it. 3 days ago i watched several motivational movies and i started to educate myself, grow up and discipline myself. Today i found Valuetainment, everything you say makes sense, you have become my mentor. Thank you very much Patrick and i hope i can learn a lot more from you, i also hope i can meet you one day🙏
OMG... So much to talk to list 10 movies... Highly appreciating... Thank you sooo much to list them in the description with seek time. Thank you for the list (in the description)
Have you tried watching the El Chapo series? I am not a fan of drugs at all because that’s what put me in a foster home as a child, but I can say that I was very impressed how El Chapo started from nothing and all the decisions he had to make in life to rise to power. I’m an entrepreneur in the real sense that I only depend on my businesses for an income, and don’t physically have to do a job everyday to make my income. I have a Logistics company I started a year ago that now has 10 employees. I am a minority that came from no parents and a foster home, with no college degree. I believe you are not a product of your environment at all. All you have to do is decide to choose different. The mind is a very powerful tool if you teach yourself to use it to the best of your ability. You have been a great mentor to me with your videos. Thanks! and I’m glad valuetainment is back
Thanks Pat! One series I would recommend everyone to watch is called " Naruto". Its actually an Anime series, and the plot is not related to Entrepreneurship or Business. However, the intrinsic values it shares are totally the values an Entrepreneur should acquire. It portrays how a kid grows up into having one major dream, the kid was not skilled nor naturally talented, but he gets to his goal after years of struggle as a result of the unstoppable passion, dedication, hard-work, and belief he had in him. For me, that reflects what a true Entrepreneur should be like. I am Sharaf, 18 year old Entrepreneur from Yemen here!
I like your list of movies that you like. Another 10 I would recommend for you to watch. Glenn Garry Glen Ross Pirates of Silicon Valley The Aviator Shawshank Redemption Spartacus The Wolf of Wallstreet Catch Me if You Can Facing the Giants Scarface Ray 5 honorable mention: Saving Private Ryan, Peaceful Warrior, Limitless, Dead Poets Society, and Field of Dreams love doing what I do and these movies and books help me when I have downtime
Glenn Gary Glen Ross is a terrible sales movie. Like most Hollywood made movies depicting sales people, they portray us as scam artists and criminals. The sales people in that movie were scam artists because they were selling worthless swamp land in Florida as time share resorts. The Boiler Room is about scam artists selling fake stock, Used Cars depicts sales people as scum sleeze balls lying to customers to make sales, Tin Men depicted the sales people as ruthless hustlers who have no morals and ethics, etc.
This was one of the best clip, video, or inspiration someone could ever define. I don't like to waste my words to the world... But you put something in me I sat through the whole video hoping to find a good movie to watch.. But what I found was so much more...all I can say is... THANK YOU also a great movie to watch is Super fly
I found Joy (2015 movie) to be a very standout entrepreneur movie...grit, innovation, persistence...its all there. I took my daughter to see it...twas nice😊👍
I watched The Wolf of Wall Street; and the Chef. In the Chef one can learn a lot to start up a business, the strategies, struggles, commitment and how your enemies turn friends once they see the craze you have for your work. They like to be your partners then. Love the movie.
Watched this channel once, loved then somehow I couldn't find it. I had forgotten the name, everything. am super happy to find it again. Plus that book shelf blesses me.
oh and how could i forgot the ultimate movie that made me want to become an entrepreneur - Blank Cheque. When I was a kid this was my favourite movie ever. Highly recommend it.
The Founder one of the best movie with great message for Entrepreneurs. "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent"
Excellent Movie list. Watched all except Cocktails and will watch it today!! The Count of Monte Cristo was the baddest. So surprised that Breaking Bad wasn't in your Top Ten. AWESOME Channel and content!!
Patrick OMG! You listed 8 of my 10 favorite movies. And you are so right, there are strong messages in each of those movies, although I wasn't looking at them as an entrepreneur. Patrick I am now a big fan of yours. Thank you so much for what you do for us, especially teaching an "ol' dog" so many things I truly needed to learn in building my business. I am sure you are greatly appreciated by your subscribers.
"remember the titans" another great movie to watch and learn when the community you live in is against you and in that atmosphere keeping your team united is surely an exceptional job
Nice vid. My personal favorite of all time is the Rocky series I just love all the Rocky movies. Also with knowing the background about Sly Stalone how he lived when he wrote the first script makes it even more awesome for me. One movie I want suggest wasn't out when you recorded your vid. But I highly recommend watching the "The Founder" It's about Ray Kroc and how he turned MC Donalds from a small Diner into a million Dollar company. It's nice to watch and I think every entrepreneur or those who want to become one can learn something from it.
regardless of the context or why you choose to watch the Godfather whether it is for entertainment or if you are trying to learn something from watching it, it is definitely one of the greatest movies of all time should be watched by everyone at some point in their lives.
I LOVE that the Count of Monte Cristo is in the top 5! That is my all-time favorite film....you Mr. PBD have class!! Nice list, thanks for your insight!
great topic man, youre probably my favorite right now, i know eventualy someone is gonna pop up and knock you off thats more interesting but for now keep it up, youre very facinating to listen to, kinda like vice in a way, anyways thanks for all the motivation , good luck on the baby , its gonna change you forever!!!!!
"Schindler's List" , Oskar Schindler was a great entrepreneur, with his right hand, Itzhak Stern. Together , they were able to help and save a lot of Jews during the Holocaust. For me, it's a noble and sacred thing to help save lives through your businesses and that's the heart of an entrepreneur.
What defines an entrepreneur: 1.Perfection 2.Consistency 3.Eliminating waste 4.Speed of delivery 5.Compliance with policies and procedures 6.Providing a good, usable product 7. Doing it right the first time 8. Delighting or pleasing customers 9.Total customer service and satisfaction My resume is an interview and you will never regret the best decision you'll make this year.
Patrick! :) I just wanna thank you for giving me an inspiration to watch movies that are beneficial to me. Although, I am not a full entrepreneur yet 'cause I need to save an amount of money before starting a business, I know I am getting there as slow as a turtle but surely and absolutely. After watching this video, I can't help but takes notes with every situation that the movies goes into and understand how characters handle it and the results that they get.

I would also recommend Guru, a fantastic Hindi movie, based on the life of Ambani, who rose from selling oil door to door to becoming the most powerful and richest industrialist in India. It's one of my most favorite movies.
Veda is one of the best entrapeuner movies and its on youtube. Its a turkish movie with english subtitles and its about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's life and how the Republic of Turkey was found
Great choices. Social Network inspired me to find a way to be a solo animator to avoid problems with people. The few people you work with, the more control you have over the creative process and the less chances for being screwed over. Pros and cons of course to both sides.
excellent video as always. this channel had helped me realize some of the many areas that need improvement in my business and life. keep up the great content!
Awesome channel sir! This channel is so underrated and full of life experience to learn from. Thank for putting the time into each video and sharing some knowledge with us!
