      10. Swearing.
      11. Racist undertones.
      12. Rude manners.
      13. Treating some people as inferior.
      14. Arguing over politics
      15. Arguing over religious views.
      16. Not speaking the other persons "language" is a major turn off.
Example: in some cultures direct eye contact is disrespectful and challenging the person in authority. .. Its important to be sensitive to differences in how people are raised.
I really appreciate that you gave HONEST reasons that turn off customers.

do people actually do these in a sales call? They are all subjective- I’d like to think most people are smarter than that. And subjective from two perspectives, like what the heck is ‘racist undertones?’ I’ve had people go off on me just cuz I’m white!
Things happen and you can’t control what other people are predisposed to think, can’t control other people.
Patrick’s list was all about controlling oneself, not worrying about random wildcards.

My husband sent this video to me this morning. In the text message he said "Please watch he is speaking your language" He was not lying!! I agree with EVERY last point you made!! These are things I complain about as a consumer and as a business woman!! I know sometimes people around me think I'm going overboard but you helped cement to THEM.....that I'm not!! AWESOME video!!!!

Kudos for addressing the "overweight" issue! PC culture has made it impossible to point out a simple fact: fat may be beautiful to some - that's a subjective measure - but fat is never healthy and speaks volumes about a person.

May I add that as much as men are guilty of this so are many women. Imagine ladies for a second if/when you overdo it, and the guy you think is hot dislikes or has an allergic reaction to your perfume... There are times I approach a lady and I am instantly turned off by the sheer overwhelming scent.

When I first started out in sales I was a smoker. This definitely is a turnoff for potential customers. I had a lady walk out because she said it gave her a headache. I don't smoke anymore and I can't stand smelling people who smoke now. Clammy hands and weak handshake is a turnoff for me.

I appreciate you sir!!!! I follow you and Grant very closely. I have not finished a book in over.... well hell since I graduated high school. Since I started following you guys I have read at least 6 books in two years and two of those six were this month. I got promoted to General Manager in less than a year and bonused twice in my new position that I have been In for 4 months. And currently on pace to do it again. Sitting at #1 in my district and #3 in the region. Not exactly an easy feat being as that the region is #1 in the country. Not bragging just explaining how you have impacted my life in a positive way!!! Thank You!!!

I guess this is what I'll do until I finish highschool - work on myself as a person - my discipline, habits, mindset, focus, time management, etc and building the type of personality that will make a good enterpreneur. I see a lot of things I did not want to change, but I'm coming to terms with it now, hehe.
Thank you for your videos, Pat! I'm looking for all kinds of advices and guides in the world of entepreneurship and I definitely need it - not exactly a natural. So thank you for your content here on youtube, can't wait to report back in a year as to how I changed my habits, routines and mentality! It'll take doing all the things I ran away from before, but now I'm oddly excited about it, haha.

Studying at university, 22 years old, I lost over 5kg in a month, kg of fat, not just weight while gained a lot of muscles. I was searching for any part time jobs, even promotions, for 2 months, didnt find anything, after a month break, which I spent on the gym, changing myself, boom, in a week got a part time job. From today will work 5pm to 12 am, then will reach home by 3 am, then uni in the morning))) Going crazy) But then all I am saying is the relationship between weight, activeness and success. Thank you man :)

The information in this video is accurate. It is not to be construed as 'bashing" or "putting someone down". Simply... put yourself in the shoes of your potential customer. What ever the reasons, the outcome from these 9 points is primarily negative. It doesn't have to be "Fair" or "Nice", it's just the way people perceive others, especially those who are in sales, (product or services). Honest information. And I agree that 'cursing', is not an acceptable practice in business either. Great Video!

    4. cigarette/weed smell
    5. not looking in eyes (when culturally accepted)

You are right on the money about the weight. Even I don't like myself or my performance when I am 10 pounds heavier. It also affects my mood. I like to be light on my feet, full of energy, and confident. Not too many superstar sales people are "heavy weights"........

OMG! I am totally agree with you, Pat. A couple of days ago I was thinking if I was being mean for judging people in a negative way based on their weight and personal presentation. Through this video I just confirm how important is physical health to make business and turn on customers. After watching this I feel more sure that the way I think about the importance of health is not only an obsession I have, it is discipline in order to be able to perform better and for longer time.Thanks.

depresiin is addressable too!! If you keep your posture and hold your head high^ if you hold a pencil with your teeth making "smile" muscles work, and listen to a tune that is cheerful your body will not be able to keep depression!! so start with that %) and dancing besides cheering you up also makes you burn calories!!!

it is and i can tell it from experience.
i was going to the gym when i was younger, and working out cost energy but it also gives tons of energy, now as i am now, basicaly fat unhealty and depressed, i am low on energy, to fix that i need to work out again, and there is the problem, due to feeling low on energy you don't have the feeling to go working out at all.
it is very interessting for me to see how it works, how your body screams it out to lose weight to be more healty and to work out more, and how the mind is fighting it as if it puts you into some kinda of wintersleep just like, just be patience and it will be fine.
we all know it won't, and i gonna change my life that is a promise i made to myself and pat.

You at also incorrect about the weight. I had gastric bypass surgery and suffer from major depressive disorder and it has been treatment resistant until we found a combo of 2 meds that took away the depression. I gained 100 pounds did not change my eating routine because I can't overeat because of the gastric bypass. I just started a new med and have lost 18 pounds. I know people prejudge both my husband and myself. But we just hold our heads high work hard and both work in sales. I earned 5 free cars in one business, he is starting to earn more than he has in years. But we still do not have the money for his teeth work. From the car wreck I have to have 3 implants, insurance pays nothing, 4 crowns on front teeth. Insurance pays for 2. We are 53 and 54. A major health crisis like the cancer I had and him being downsized from a Bell South job at the same time and then I had a surgery that has only been performed one time. Emergency surgery I almost died. You talk about medical bills. Thanks for hearing me out. I understand and like your video but I just hate that I know people like you are judging me and my husband. But the best we can do is take one step forward a day. Our 19 year old daughter needs braces on her teeth. And we all need glasses. Its one thing after another. But I can tell you even though I probably could get disability I don't. I have continued to work through everything because had too. I sure wish you would contact me. 256-452-8948 I just want to know that I'm heard.

Agreed. I have had some ideas from time to time that seemed to me to be just what the infomedia world needed, but had no real sense what to do about it. It's like coming up with the best possible alcoholic drink formula and knowing nothing about bars or tending them.

That's right. Being overweight affects your business. At the beginning of the pandemic I was 480#s. Now I'm 380#s. My energy has improved and increased. Don't get me wrong, I am 6'8.5" but a loss of 100#s makes a difference. Confidence plays a big part in this.
