I would’ve loved to see a 2 v 1 fight between Megatron, Optimus and Sentinel. Also the irony of Sentinel dying to the rust canon that he used to kill Ironhide is a nice touch. The final talk between Prime and Megatron is one of the few examples of genuinely good writing in this franchise, such a shame it was cut. But at least we can still see it in other ways
Sentinel was not killed by his cosmic rust cannon, Optimus Prime kills Megatron, and uses Megatron’s gun to kill sentinel. Prime later uses Megatron’s gun in AOE when he was in his his evasion mode.

I think the reason that he killed Megatron and Sentinel when they gave up was because Optimus didn't want any more betrayal in his life. Megatron already betrayed him once what are the chances that he will again? And I think that Optimus now knowing that anyone can betray you in war he executed Sentinel. And the next time someone that he trust betrays him, he'll just rip off their face just like he did with The Fallen.
Understandable. Although megatron would still be trust worthy if he does what he promise. But for movie megatron he’s not really trust worthy. Heck in AOE he was playing dead so he can manipulated KSI and Dej- I mean KSI, building him a new body that looks like megatron than Optimus prime which KSI wanted to do and Megatron again took control over Galvatron and he also took control of the KSI drones
Well you are not wrong because you can really see that optimus changed in the 4th and 5th films because he has always been fighting for the humans and they betrayed him and killed his fellow autobots thats why he was done with the humans and in the 5th film he went back to cybertron
Understandable characterization is different from good characterization. The whole point of a "hero" is that they do what's morally right, regardless of their feelings & motivations. Optimus choosing to forgive Megatron, his enemy, immediately after being screwed over by his "sensei", Sentinel, has a much stronger emotional impact than just offing him, because it would show that his willing to put aside his emotions for the sake of making a morally good choice. It's a facet of the character that was established waaay back in G1, but the '07 continuity completely lacked. They changed him from Superman into The Punisher, and I don't think that was the right choice.

Wow… that alternate ending is indeed a better ending for the film. I always thought Megatron’s death was uncalled for since he saved Optimus a few moments ago. Also Sentinel dying to his cosmic rust cannon is definitely better he got a taste of his own medicine rip ironhide. :’)
"3 will stand one will fall" God that's a fantastic line!. I've always hated the ending of dotm for how it just stops with no proper ending. I never even realised how BOTH megatron and sentinel were pleading for a truce damn..
@@novustalks7525 I thought about that but the original saying since 1986 is "one shall stand, one shall fall", implying only the winner "will stand", thus, wouldn't it have been more proper for Megatron to say "Two shall stand, one will [edit: shall] fall" instead?
To me Dark of The Moon is the true ending to the Bayverse, like I enjoyed AOE and Mark Wahlberg, but to me this is the true end to the story, and the original version of the story is SOOO much better! 🤯
@@huey6248 That is a reboot of the Transformers Films! So "Transformers Rise Of The Beasts" is now "The new Transformers 1" :), (Or at the very least Transformers 2 😅)
@@Bmontepeque11 I kinda agree. I mean, the first 3 actually have continuity. - In the first one: they had the allspark, which got destroyed at the end, but not entirely - In the second one: they had 2 small pieces of the allspark, and the matrix of leadership was introduced - In the third one: the allspark was no longer mentioned, but still had the matrix - In the fourth one: neither of the 2 are mentioned or referenced Also agree with that. Bumblebee was a reboot, not a continuation of the story the Bayverse had. That's why I never got why they keep calling Rise of the Beasts Transformers 7.
There might be some justification for Optimus’s actions from a writing perspective. Throughout the films, even if the writing is nothing to be too proud of, one idea I thought was really cool is how gradually more jaded Optimus becomes as the wars go on. Lots of friends lost in senseless violence, and now his mentor has become everything they’ve been fighting. That’s gotta make a guy like him break. That’s most evident in Age of Extinction where he seems so traumatized his first instinct is to threaten humans unlike the compassion he showed before (but he only talks, never actually does anything which shows his true nature is still there). I guess he kinda adopts a “too dangerous to be left alive” mentality, too broken to have second thoughts. But he still feels guilty. And with Megatron, it’s easy to see where he’s coming from. He stopped Sentinel for his own personal gain, his call for a truce is backhanded and underwhelming, immediately followed by the implication that Prime is nothing without him even though he’s a power hungry psychopath who ruined their home. I think I can see why he did it, even if it was executed in a clunky way in the film.
Nah, with Megatron it's more satisfying. Starting in DOTM, he'd see a reflection of his ruthlessness in Sentinel, and realize the monster he'd become. That's how I interpret it.
I honestly both versions, but I would like to see a deleted scene of this version, I would like to see the look on Sentinel prime's face as he rust to death just like he did to the best bot of the bayverse, Justice for Ironhide. It would also be nice to see this conversation in the film expressing their ideals and what it cost them. It would also be good for prime to not act like a psychopath and ripping heads/faces off even though i loved that scene.
for me I actually prefer the altered ending in this movie because it feels realistic for me (that and I grew up with up with it) of course because in my opinion if I was betrayed by my mentor and k*lled my friend (Ironhide) in this case I would want my vengeance but I agree this ending feels realistic as well and I feel like it a perfect ending because Megatron gets a redemption and work with Optimus prime once again and Cybertron survives and Megatron goes to fix Cybertron and the Autobots stays on Earth and it just feels like a perfect ending for a trilogy.
Don't forget about the autobots that went against him on cybertron, I solely think those are the reasons megatron should been killed or atleast served some punishment worse than death for those killed in his reign especially brutally jazz
In the theatrical resease, they should have had Optimus say he would only agree to the truce if Megatron also agreed to answer for all he'd done and to be turned in to earth's authorities. Megatron would then go back on his word and attack Optimus, leading to prime destroying him. Cinematically, that would have made the most sense.
Well that was a Megatron who was still bloodlusted and in his prime both physically and mentally. DOTM Megatron is broken down physically and his morale was broken as well. He didn’t care about continuing the fight and he didn’t care about what happened anymore. He just wanted to stop. And remember he gave Optimus the chance to kill him. Optimus chose to spare Megatron to prove a point and as a way to give Megatron the benefit of the doubt
I always thought the "who would you be without me, Prime" line was directed at Sentinel since Megatron made a deal with Sentinel and was responsible for bringing him to Earth and that Optimus saying time to find out was to show how pathetic Sentinel really was. Kind of makes the killing feel less warranted now that I know the line was meant for Optimus. Also holy shit! That ending is so much better than what we got and actually caps off the first three films as a definitive trilogy, since it ends with the Autobots choosing Earth as their home.
I love the similarities in TF1 and in TF3. It would've been a good callback TF1: "We are here. We are waiting." -Optimus 2007 TF3: "We are here. We are Home." - Optimus 2011
This final ending would’ve been so much better, it would’ve wrapped the trilogy up perfectly and really add extra character to megatron as he was almost always second fiddle and with the original ending, he would’ve gotten a memorable moment
10:08 omg imagine if this was the birth of galvatron except as a good guy instead of bad. Give us a galvatron that's taken the name as a sign of being born again on a path of redemption instead of just being a reborn evil Megatron. Would've been a great direction
I am glad I watched this it made me reevaluate my whole child hood and this is now the true ending for me and allows me to appreciate the bay films a little more at first I actually thought sentinel didn't deserve to die along with Megatron but I do now understand his death was kinda justified, but I still think megs should of survived too. I truly love this ending and I think dotm was the true end of the Micheal bay saga and that AOE and TLK was just a fever dream XD
"So it seems like our story's ending got spoiled due to a system bug and we have to remake the finale, what should we do?" Bay: "OPTIMUS RIPS OFF MEGATRON'S HEAD WITH AN AXE THEN HE SHOOTS THE WOUNDED SENTINEL WHO IS BEGGING FOR HIS LIFE WITH A RIFLE IN THE HEAD AND BLOWS HIS BRAINS OUT" "Amazing sir, brilliant as always."
When I was young I thought the ending to Dark Moon was okay even now. But seeing this, gave me a new perspective on the movie and to Megatron. Thank you for making this video @TransTheories
5:53 honestly... Kinda weird hearing prime say sentinal betrayed himself for teaming with Megatron ironically right after teaming with Megatron and making a deal...
Interesting information on this video, I found the original death for Sentinel poetic. Also it was shame that order lead to AOT and TLK not having tie in comics. And kudos to animators for the scene with Optimus and Megatron. 🙂👍
Honestly I prefer if they mixed both together. Both worked and I understand why Bay at the time in 2011 thought a possible 30 min long chat of Optimus and Megatron making a truce and coming to terms with one another would’ve been boring for people. You don’t just have Transformers fans who would’ve liked it but those who haven’t seen transformers or heard of it so they might’ve not liked it since this was the age of superhero movies with Thor, Iron Man, Captain America already out and the Avengers teased, everyone would’ve liked the whole Bad guy loses and good guy wins scenario. But I think IDW should have their contract renewed for transformers because they have made so many good comics and characters. But if they also wanna do other stories I think the deal should be they get breaks to work on their own stuff for a bit after a Transformers movie(if they do tie in comics) is made/released
I AGREE WITH THIS POST% my take : cut the chat out spare megatron after teaming up and killing sentinel and saying something epic like “there is no good without evil, you can’t have just one and as long as there is evil i Optimus prime will fight to protect the good in all”
When I was 8 years old when the movie came out, after hearing that line from Megatron. This Megatron in BayVerse, I was thinking of him as a villain but he was just trying to save Cybertron. I wish this be the final installment on how the Bayverse Transformers ended like. That I see villains as tragic characters who use to be heroes until someone else took their place or something else, Seeing Megatron like this in the third installment, I feel bad for him realizing he just wants to save Cybertron. If this ending happens in the movie, I think there won't be Transformers 4 and 5, with no Galvatron, of course, I won't forget about Lockdown, but I prefer Transformers: Dark of the Moon as the finale installment.
With that original ending, it would literally show character development, but then again it would be like maneuvering a mountain-type difficult terrain to come up with an idea for the next transformer movies. The idea is very good without a doubt, but it would be cool seeing both ways, the one we have, and this original idea. It would be very interesting how different these two routes would be yet being a few minute difference around the ending can cause a massive gap. But I have a theory that if they did go with the "original idea" there is a chance it can go two ways. One is that DOTM would be the last movie, or two, Galvatron would be a completely different character compared to AOE. Option two more likely can go closer to the G1 route if I'm gonna be honest, I wonder what your guys thoughts are...
i absolutely remember that Michael Bay has STRESSED that DoTM will be the LAST Transformers movie he'll ever directed. It's why even in both endings it ends with such a conclusive story (Megatron leave/died) I truly believe that's why the quality dropped for AoE and TLK. he just don't want to do the movies anymore
I think Galvatron would've been a separate character from Megatron, like in some continuities. They could easily have used Galvatron as his replacement for the main villain role.
The Quintessons and Unicron are still out there. There was plenty left to.have villains for more films without using Megatron. Megatron could've been very interesting as something other than a villain. And no Transformers series should conclude before we get to the Dinobots. Grimlock at the very least is one of the top 5, maybe top 3, most essential Autobots for any continuity..
I love this original ending. It kinda shows they have a Magneto/Professor X dynamic. I feel like Optimus will still keep a close eye on Megatron to see if he can deliver on his promise
As odd as it is they actually act completely different more so there show counterparts. I can't picture Michael bay having a single thought letting these two have a single conversation
My guy, I tried looking this up when you mentioned it in your other videos and found nothing - you put more effort into these videos than most historians haha
I always forget to comment on these. Awesome video. And also, a company called Skybound Entertainment will hold the Transformers comic license starting in 2023, so if Rise of the Beasts gets supplementary material, it will likely be through them.
Optimus killing both Sentinel and Megatron like that was totally justified to me. They both betrayed him, killed his friends, killed humans and were extremeley dangerous. Optimus went trough a lot in the movies and it looks like he had enough.
For years I always felt the ending was off...man I would have preferred this ending than the one we got. This would have been hands down the absolute best
I've been waiting for someone to talk about the tf3 novel for so long. I remember my dad buying it for me from a bookstore and I immediately noticed that the endings were different, and even as a little kid I preferred the ending from the novel way more. The novel added way more context to some of the scenes that made it to the movie as well. Including Optimus actually figuring out that the decepticons were trying to use Sam to figure out their plan just from Sam saying "You can tell me, no other HUMAN will ever know". And Lennox's reaction to Optimus telling the Autobots to retreat for the first time. I wish I still had the novel, I may have to pick it up for old times sake.
"I wonder if optimus and i could ever rebuild cybertron, im gonna ask him rq "-megatrons inner thoughts. 2 seconds later "Who would you be without me pri-" "Time to find out" "Wait wha-" *gets decapitated*
They should of stuck with the original ending despite it getting leaked, which sounds to me like it was a freak accident. It would of made such of an amazing scene to see Optimus and Megatron finally stop fighting each other for as long as they have and make peace between one other. Plus, if Bay didn't give in to the demands of the studio and laid the franchise to rest like how he originally planned, it would of been so cool to wrap it all up with this scene and the original version of Optimus's speech at the end. Unfortunately, Bay's anger robbed us of this from happening on screen and he did give in to the demands and we got the two dog water movies that are Age Of Extinction and The Last Knight.🤦🏽♂️👍🏼
I like to believe that Hasbro reused this ending for the Predicon Rising ending where Megatron disbands the Deceptions and exiles himself from Cybertron as a form of repentance
I don't know if i like the alternate ending. I don't believe Megatron can ever be trusted. I don't believe Sentinel Prime can be trusted either. Once you head down that road, i can't see him turning and going back. For what Sentinel did to Ironhide....that can't be forgiven. So I'm glad he died like a dog, begging for his life. He shot Ironhide in the back like a coward, so screw him.
It's always Ironhide. I get it, everyone liked him. But he was just another casualty. No different from the other deaths, bot or con. But anyway it's as Optimus always believed: Every sentient has the capacity and should be given the chance for change.
@@BazookaIke it's fact. Just because he was loved doesn't make him different from any other death. They were all soldiers in a war and soldiers die in war. Just because one was on a certain side and liked, doesn't mean his life was more important
3:38 if I can hear Leonard nemoy say that same line as xehanort for kingdom hearts, I would always treasure that scene in both kingdom hearts and in dark of the moon
Peter Cullen/optimus Prime/Nemesis Prime/Orion pax: "in any war, there are calms between storms. There will be days when we lose Faith. Days when our allies turn against us. But the day will never come that we forsake this planet & it's people. For I am optimus Prime, & I send this message to the universe: we are here, we are home."
Although I loved age of extinction and a bit of tlk this ending felt like the way the og trilogy should’ve ended it felt more appropriate for the end of the war
At around the 6:30 mark when you credited the amazing people who made the alternative scene possible I couldn’t keep a straight face as a fried chicken ad popped straight up directly after.
in my opinion optimus killing both of them was more than fair, they caused millions of deaths, ruined autobots reputation to humans, killing some of his friends and a lot of other things so they getting executed was more than fair
What comes to mind when I think of the Transformers films: 86 Film: DO NOT GRIEVE. 07 Film: THE CUBE. ROTF: ENEMY SCROTUM. DOTM: MOON. AOE: RIP RATCHET. TLK: BEE KILLED HITLER. BUMBLEBEE: BACK TO LIFE. ROTB: TRANSWARP KEY.
Man with this ending and the original idea of Carly's plotline being for Mikayla would have made the film so much better. Would have been a perfect cap to the trilogy there, especially with Optimus and Prime reconciling and Optimus's full message at the end.
8:22 basically in these original scirpt and fan made scene of that is sealed the road for the age of extinction and last knight movie or different plots just like said of Sam's actor his character is finally over or it is final for Sam which means he saw these original scene or ending being filmed and discarded somewhere
It's a shame we didn't get this ending that Megatron was probably my favourite design out them all And yet Optimus says "yeetus deleetus your head is beheaded"
As a kid, i always chalked Optimus Prime killing Megatron to be him just fed up with his crap. I like this ending way better, it’s much deeper and in character for both Optimus and Megatron
Man Megaton on a Frieza kinda of role being able to fight alongside someone you have been with odds for so long to put it aside to handle an issue together would have been way better.
This ending is so much better, I love DOTM, but this would've been a more satisfying end to the original Bayformers trilogy, and honestly, there wouldn't need to be any sequels if this happened instead.
My favorite thing about DOTM is sentinel’s betrayal is foreshadowed by wheels at the very beginning “I’ve seen this one it’s the one where Spock goes nuts”
Holy shit this is LEAGUES better than what we actually got. I really like how retrospective both Optimus Prime and Megatron are in that they both realized the mistakes they made in their ambitions and are able to make a truce and swear to become better people. It really gave it the sense that they actually were brothers once and gives more depth into their history together. Whereas in the movie it’s just: Megatron: “Let’s make a truce” Optimus: “Lol no” *decapitates Megatron* Just needlessly violent to the point of being over-the-top and a very unsatisfying conclusion between Optimus Prime and Megatron. It also just comes off as very redundant when viewing the trilogy as a whole. Megatron dies in the first movie, gets resurrected in the second, and then dies again in the third movie… only to be resurrected again in the fourth movie, though I’ll be fair and mention that they weren’t planning to make a fourth. Maybe one day we’ll get a director’s cut of the film with this ending though I highly doubt Michael Bay will ever want to touch Transformers again. And with the amount of money it’ll take for the effects I doubt the studio wants to either.
I remember reading about the truce back in 2012 when I was still young (age 10) and I told my friends about it and they thought I was crazy. Happy to see i was actually right 10 years later
We could think about it in another way. About 8 weeks before the premiere, they'd have to have written and storyboarded the new scenes, shot the new plates in location, animate them, voice them over, score them, edit them into the rest of the film, distribute it to thousands of theaters and also have it ready for the redubbing in other languages before the global release... that's a lot of work, man! And the CGI looks pretty good there! I actually believe they had pre-made this as a plan B along with the original ending, just in case, you know what I mean? 🙂
@@Theorymus I have another one: Since Megatron (via a deleted scene) crash landed on earth and is hidden in Hoover Dam in the Knightverse, maybe make a theory as to why he came to earth in that timeline, as there’s no mention of the Allspark this far.
Although the alternate ending was more emotional, I still feel the ending we got played out well. Ultimately, Prime is tired from war and the betrayal of so many that he chooses to kill them both, understanding that he has to live with those decisions. It helps create the idea that Prime carries guilt because he may not see himself so pure anymore considering his mentor turned on his own beliefs and twisted them. Giving Megatron and Sentinel a chance to redeem themselves after so much chaos and death is like letting murderers go just because they had a change of heart. It isn't up to Prime to decide whether they live or not but he chooses that it's best to finish them off to "make sure" there's no harm done to anybody anymore. This also adds to Prime becoming cold hearted and ruthless in AOE because he gets betrayed by humans, learning that they killed his autobots. This makes him doubt his decision to have killed Sentinel and Megatron. He felt like he had to kill them for the sake of humans but them turning against Transformers and experimenting on them is probably why Prime felt even more angered (which can maybe tie in with the alternate ending in DOTM with Prime, like Megatron, realizing in AOE that he just wants to go home and forget everything).

Great video as always Trans, but if you do cover how the Autobot's were evil (2:19) I really hope you cover the minor things from the other related films and comics (That are still canon in the Bayverse at least, In Order) Like how Sideswipe killed Sideways in cold blood. With there even being a deleted scene showcasing his death in a more gruesome way (Would also probably add how the Arcee Triplets tried to kill Sideways too. Maybe even how Prime executed Grindor, Demolisher and the Fallen. Prime stating he'd never accept Shockwaves surrender in the Dark of the Moon comic. During Dark of the Moon when the Wreckers tear apart the protoform decepticon pilot by limbs. Right before Ratchet and Bee attack the last pillar, Sideswipe and the Wreckers gang up on a Devcon Oreo-Bot's death from AOE In AOE, when Drift was 1v2ing two Stinger clones and after killing one of them, the other surrendered but Drift still executed him And finally in TLK, Onslaught and Mowhawks death!

@@novustalks7525 I thought about that but the original saying since 1986 is "one shall stand, one shall fall", implying only the winner "will stand", thus, wouldn't it have been more proper for Megatron to say "Two shall stand, one will [edit: shall] fall" instead?
I’m glad to find someone who also thinks that DotM is the best Bayverse movie.
Let's gooo 👍
Honestly, my first ever transformers movie ever, and because of that movie, I started enjoying transformers and getting into it.
For me it goes 1 and 3 everything else is bad
In terms of the sequels, DOTM is the best
@@TheOutsider1115 yeah for real. But I liked rotf more bc its just more fun to watch with all the action
To me Dark of The Moon is the true ending to the Bayverse, like I enjoyed AOE and Mark Wahlberg, but to me this is the true end to the story, and the original version of the story is SOOO much better! 🤯
what about bumblebee tho
@@huey6248 That is a reboot of the Transformers Films! So "Transformers Rise Of The Beasts" is now "The new Transformers 1" :), (Or at the very least Transformers 2 😅)
YESSS
@@Bmontepeque11 I kinda agree. I mean, the first 3 actually have continuity.
- In the first one: they had the allspark, which got destroyed at the end, but not entirely
- In the second one: they had 2 small pieces of the allspark, and the matrix of leadership was introduced
- In the third one: the allspark was no longer mentioned, but still had the matrix
- In the fourth one: neither of the 2 are mentioned or referenced
Also agree with that. Bumblebee was a reboot, not a continuation of the story the Bayverse had.
That's why I never got why they keep calling Rise of the Beasts Transformers 7.
@@HandlesTheCyberman Although Optimus and the other Autobots didn't arrive to Earth until Bayformers 1, yet they arrived in the '80s in Bumblebee.
Man I love DOTM but I never liked the ending that much bc it felt so abrupt, this ending is so much better.
Yeah the ending was obviously rushed.
optimus and megatron team up, Megatron character development. This ending would have broken the internet
Honestly though seeing sentinel with a chance for redemption would've been cool and they could've done that instead of megs
@@pbk357 if Megs could be redeemed then anyone can
@@OneWithNoFace Mind you Megs was all for a plan to destroy earths sun without any consideration of the inhabitants of the solar system it was in.
@@brandonlyon730 he was doing it to save his race. Like Sam said: No sacrifice no victory
Nah, with Megatron it's more satisfying. Starting in DOTM, he'd see a reflection of his ruthlessness in Sentinel, and realize the monster he'd become. That's how I interpret it.
@M. Robinson quintessa was controlling sentinel
"There will only be one"
"And it won't be you"
Honestly I would've loved to hear this line no matter which ending, it's so badass
YES! Hope the anniversary comes up
I also both versions
Sentinel also made skids and mudflad rust to death
@@Duvk99I also as well
for me I actually prefer the altered ending in this movie because it feels realistic for me (that and I grew up with up with it) of course because in my opinion if I was betrayed by my mentor and k*lled my friend (Ironhide) in this case I would want my vengeance but I agree this ending feels realistic as well and I feel like it a perfect ending because Megatron gets a redemption and work with Optimus prime once again and Cybertron survives and Megatron goes to fix Cybertron and the Autobots stays on Earth and it just feels like a perfect ending for a trilogy.
I Agree
This ending makes sense but take in accountability that Megatron legit ripped Jazz in ½ and Jazz was still alive during that
Don't forget about the autobots that went against him on cybertron, I solely think those are the reasons megatron should been killed or atleast served some punishment worse than death for those killed in his reign especially brutally jazz
It would've been a good callback
TF1: "We are here. We are waiting."
-Optimus 2007
TF3: "We are here. We are Home."
- Optimus 2011
I actually like the original ending better, but the "I am Optimus Prime" line would've been the perfect ending to the movie
This final ending would’ve been so much better, it would’ve wrapped the trilogy up perfectly and really add extra character to megatron as he was almost always second fiddle and with the original ending, he would’ve gotten a memorable moment
This ending is WAY better than what we got.
No it isn't
@@keslerjenkins9683explain why?
@@keslerjenkins9683why tho???
Fun fact the original ending was actually from the comic(which is a early version of DOTM)
It would’ve been amazing if Megatron and Optimus agreed to live together and learn and such… would’ve been a great ending.
10:08 omg imagine if this was the birth of galvatron except as a good guy instead of bad. Give us a galvatron that's taken the name as a sign of being born again on a path of redemption instead of just being a reborn evil Megatron. Would've been a great direction
Agreed
I am glad I watched this it made me reevaluate my whole child hood and this is now the true ending for me and allows me to appreciate the bay films a little more at first I actually thought sentinel didn't deserve to die along with Megatron but I do now understand his death was kinda justified, but I still think megs should of survived too. I truly love this ending and I think dotm was the true end of the Micheal bay saga and that AOE and TLK was just a fever dream XD
Amen 🤘
@@Theorymus :D
Same.

Wow, that would have been an amazing ending. Makes you wonder what would have happened in the other sequels.
"So it seems like our story's ending got spoiled due to a system bug and we have to remake the finale, what should we do?"
Bay: "OPTIMUS RIPS OFF MEGATRON'S HEAD WITH AN AXE THEN HE SHOOTS THE WOUNDED SENTINEL WHO IS BEGGING FOR HIS LIFE WITH A RIFLE IN THE HEAD AND BLOWS HIS BRAINS OUT"
"Amazing sir, brilliant as always."
The ending from the movie makes sense to me, too
When I was young I thought the ending to Dark Moon was okay even now.
I AGREE WITH THIS POST% my take : cut the chat out spare megatron after teaming up and killing sentinel and saying something epic like “there is no good without evil, you can’t have just one and as long as there is evil i Optimus prime will fight to protect the good in all”
So basically the ending to Predacons Rising? Yeah, I definitely would've preferred this ending for DOTM
It's why even in both endings it ends with such a conclusive story (Megatron leave/died)
I truly believe that's why the quality dropped for AoE and TLK. he just don't want to do the movies anymore
You mean to tell me the one time Michael Bay tried to do Transformers some justice, he gets stopped by the fans??
Bro.
This is why the fandom are the worst sometimes
Dark of the moon is the best transformers movie imo
What makes this even more frustrating is that they could've actually used this concept for The Last Knight's ending, but didn't.
I’m getting teared up hearing that scrapped ending cause that’s a way better ending and I could imagine what it would look like if it was real
Why 'three will stand, one will fall"? There's only three of them, wouldn't "two will stand, one will fall" be more appropriate. Love this channel!
Megatron- saves Optimus
Optimus- and I took that personally.
Awesome, Thaks for letting me know!
“Who would I be without YOU, that one leak?”
I never even learned about the different ending until recently. Definitely want to read the novel.
"I wonder if optimus and i could ever rebuild cybertron, im gonna ask him rq "-megatrons inner thoughts.
2 seconds later
"Who would you be without me pri-"
"Time to find out"
"Wait wha-"
*gets decapitated*
I really wish we stayed with the original ending man. Also, I personally think that animation was on the spot. Perfect.
I recreated the ending speech with the background music and voiced Optimus and man, it's sooooo beautiful! I was in tears after finishing it!
@@OneWithNoFace that's your opinion not mine. Ironhide was not just another casualty.
@@BazookaIke it's fact. Just because he was loved doesn't make him different from any other death. They were all soldiers in a war and soldiers die in war. Just because one was on a certain side and liked, doesn't mean his life was more important

Optimus was just waiting for the chance to say that to megs for a loooooooong time

Leo nimoy/Sentinel Prime: "always the bravest of us, optimus!" "But you could never make the hard decisions!" "Our planet will survive!"
Man that Optimus Prime Impression in the middle there was amazing👍. Peter Cullen should totally pass the torch to that guy when the time comes
What comes to mind when I think of the Transformers films:
86 Film: DO NOT GRIEVE.
It's a shame we didn't get this ending that Megatron was probably my favourite design out them all
And yet Optimus says "yeetus deleetus your head is beheaded"
As a kid, i always chalked Optimus Prime killing Megatron to be him just fed up with his crap. I like this ending way better, it’s much deeper and in character for both Optimus and Megatron

Man Megaton on a Frieza kinda of role being able to fight alongside someone you have been with odds for so long to put it aside to handle an issue together would have been way better.
This ending is so much better, I love DOTM, but this would've been a more satisfying end to the original Bayformers trilogy, and honestly, there wouldn't need to be any sequels if this happened instead.
You know what i actually like that optimus finally chooses peace instead of gruesomely killing him like he normally does
I kinda liked the original ending. It just shows you how much Optimus lost himself in rage and he ended up rusty and in hiding without megatron.
Whereas in the movie it’s just:
Megatron: “Let’s make a truce”
Optimus: “Lol no” *decapitates Megatron*
Just needlessly violent to the point of being over-the-top and a very unsatisfying conclusion between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

@@Theorymus have you heard about the Starscream lives mid credits scenes
We could think about it in another way. About 8 weeks before the premiere, they'd have to have written and storyboarded the new scenes, shot the new plates in location, animate them, voice them over, score them, edit them into the rest of the film, distribute it to thousands of theaters and also have it ready for the redubbing in other languages before the global release... that's a lot of work, man! And the CGI looks pretty good there! I actually believe they had pre-made this as a plan B along with the original ending, just in case, you know what I mean? 🙂

Like how Sideswipe killed Sideways in cold blood. With there even being a deleted scene showcasing his death in a more gruesome way (Would also probably add how the Arcee Triplets tried to kill Sideways too.
Maybe even how Prime executed Grindor, Demolisher and the Fallen.

During Dark of the Moon when the Wreckers tear apart the protoform decepticon pilot by limbs.
Right before Ratchet and Bee attack the last pillar, Sideswipe and the Wreckers gang up on a Devcon
