People say they are a waste because of how they branch off, however when I did my oil cooler I also put on an xdp coolant filter and when I wash flushing the whole system for shell elc nf coolant that filter was heavy af and full of sludge and sand. Over the course of probably 6 months or so it went to almost having 0 sand or debris in the filter. I cut each one open after each replace. and for me personally they may not be “the best” way of being filter but I wouldn’t say they are a waste at all
I Agree. When I installed one on my 6.0 I also cut the filters open. First one had a bunch of grit. By the 3rd filter it stayed relatively clean.
I would like to mess with the ipr one mainly because it filters so much overall. I do like them amd don't think they are bad but they get more credit than maybe the deserve sometimes. Again it's still on my truck and will really only come off because I'm planning to put a CO pound setup on the future
Don't you miss your 6.0 days man I'm telling you should get another one. Yours was so clean
@@six0bros I toy with the idea and making it a flatbed because I'd use it in the woods. But for now it is nice to not think about temp deltas...... ever!
Plus now most of the 05-07s are rusted out or clapped out I'd probably never find one nearly as clean as my 05 dually was. There's times I miss it.

I got a 03. F550 .60 and I ended up getting a Jasper transmission because I had no choice at the time but it will not shift Under full power
Any error codes showing up? Did you check fluid level? I had a transmission shift like that because it had a leak, but it could also be a bad solenoid or even the transmission but let's start with fluid level and codes.

Why is coolant filtration useless? I thought it extends the life of the oil cooler.
They aren't bad just they do very little. There is zero drawbacks to having them and ipr makes a nice one but overall the bypass ones do very little and most don't change the filter enough to make a difference
