- We recently spent a few days down in Poplar Branch, NC on the outskirts of the Outer Banks to visit with Kill Devil Diesel and owner Jared Alderson. This diesel engine and machine shop specializes in the Powerstroke platform, so we decided to find out what went into a 6.0L Powerstroke build for a MILD budget of $15,000 and a WILD budget of $45,000.
See what build got more bang for the buck!
Mild vs. Wild is brought to you by @AMSOILinc and SBI.

Jared is quite the guy. Business man, machinist, monster truck guy, and evidently before that he was a nfl defensive linemen. Bro is built like a f350!
WTF is this dude 7' tall? No wonder he works on diesels, they're the only vehicles he fits in.
I'm 6'2" and I feel small next to Jared. Jared is an awesome guy, one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
@@nickatfluidampr As Nick said, Jared is one of the nicest, smartest guys we've had the pleasure to know, and he is damn near 7 ft. tall.
We bet he'd be a bit like Shaq trying to squeeze into a Buick, if you remember those commercials. So the big diesel trucks definitely fit his build best.

Exactly what I was thinking
Put my deposit down on a stage 2 6.0 couple months ago, 6-8 month lead time right now. Should be done around christmas. I can't wait! 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty, you cant beat it.
Waiting that long, it should be unlimited revving because, I know you are paying out of the ass 😂 Building a level 2 is something you could do yourself with only some machine shop work
Commenting for support!
Awesome love seeing people that do things at an expert level. Especially machine work and engine assembly because it is few and far between anymore.
Dang I never knew how big Jared is love kill devil
Reminds me of Power Driven Diesel. Also a Giant nice fella who makes diesels go fast.
I watched the 7.3 video and about died- this makes a lot more sense lol
They just built my 6.7 Powerstroke, and was in the process of building it while y’all were there.
Just discovered your channel! earned a sub! lots of good ideas for my 6.0
wow amazing job
What does kill devil think about J&k 6.0 stroker. They install a 6.4 crank for increased displacement. I would like a replacement for my worn 6.0. I was hoping for a tow rig that can lightm up on weekends
Great video! love your channel. I am not interested in horsepower numbers. what are the torque numbers?
I'm not a Ford guy by any means at all but I would love to see Kill Devil Diesel build a Powerstroke and of course put it in a Ford truck body and do a full tube chassis under it and take it to UCC in Indy to challenge the FirePunk Diesel guys in the UCC challenge and eventually build a full billet Powerstroke and put it in a full tube chassis Ford Ranger that is all carbon fiber body and try to take the records from FirePunk Diesel of being the fastest and quickest in the world on a 315 and a big tire slick when they had their S10 that had the Cummins in it and I would like to see two Duramax builds do the same thing and I know this year a Duramax Chevrolet full size truck took the UCC challenge this year for overall in points from DHD but last year FirePunk built the truck that still holds the overall record for the highest horsepower on the dyno at 3336hp and nobody came close to that this year
