Tool rabbit hole here we goooooo!
Down in it we go!
More Tool. That is all.
Word
This
This shit, oh man what I got my self into
@@SuperAnonymous021 One. Of. Us.
One of my favorite live performances. Maynard didn't just sing that song...he ASSAULTED it🤘🤘
Its NEVER too late to discover Tool. Enjoy the journey!
It's a strange ride, but worth every second
Maynard is an amazing frontman, i mean look at him. He is so into his music! Such a great band!
24 at the time?? Wtf? You dont look a day over 40, man. Props
Tool is such a great band. Vicarious is a great song as well
If it's possible to have a favourite Tool song, mine would be this one
Tool is one of those bands where it doesn't matter how old you are or how old the music is it will always be enjoyable.
I’ve loved Tool since the beginning and I absolutely love when folks discover their musical genius. I really haven’t heard a Tool song that wasn’t a masterpiece ❤️
The phuck you with a ph was too much. I busted out laughing watching this at 338 am. I love these reactions
You have no idea how deeply dedicated they are in music alone
It’s not just music, it’s art....
Yes
music is art?
If you see them Live, you’ll be in a trance too. They don’t let you take out your phones during the show so it’s a mind and body experience. AMAZING live. AMAZING
James "Maynard" Keenan was not under the influence of anything during this performance but rather picked out an audience member in the crowd and sang directly to them in this video. More like looking into their soul. Normally Maynard stands in the shadows behind the band on stage and sings. Maynard is currently the proud owner of a vineyard and has his own brand of wine. Great reaction Dave....Cheers!
Idk but that just sounds really creepy. I mean I can see how some people may view it as flattering, but I would just be kinda creeped out if Maynard just stared at me for an entire performance.
@@captaincannabis3321 It wasn't for the whole show. Just that one song and I'm sure he didn't stick with that one person for the other songs as well. I'd kind of be creeped out too !!
He didn’t start singing in the back for like 6 more years tho
Classic Maynard shenanigans 🤣
I am enjoying the Tool Shed.
Tool is so great! Maynard and anyone he works with is off the charts amazing.
Your body is jumping out of your skin
When you listening to tool
Sober what a song
Feeling it
Tool is on another Level!
More Tool please!!!
TOOL-LATERALUS🌀 or Tool-The Pot.....any song you want to do.....every song is a masterpiece
Have the lyrics in hand while listening....stay away from music videos...they take your attention away from music. Thanks for doing Tool again.Greatest band ever!
Greatest band on the planet 💯
Listen just to the hi-hat throughout this song...it's what keeps everyone in the pocket.
Next, try 46 and 2
Awesome meaning behind those lyrics
Two of my fave Tool songs-- The Pot and Lateralus.
Literally every song from Aenima album on is a masterpiece....listen to it all and you won't be disappointed
It might be the mid-00's edgy kid in me, but Chester got into that kinda dark trance when performing, especially in the Hybrid Theory/Meteora days. Live In Texas show isn't their best show by any means, but Chester's performance throughout the entire show is just...it's his heart and soul on stage, without a care of any judgement. A Place For My Head is an absolutely insane live performance and is worth checking out.
How he has that range of voice with that posture both amazes and puzzles me. This performance is one of my best live performances ever
Phuck you wih Ph cracked me up. XD
I literally spit my water out with that...🤣
Judith by a perfect circle is another great one.
Same with puscifer the remedy
Please please please react to 46 & 2 by Tool. Absolute masterpiece. The music comes in layers and it blends together for the perfect heavy tool storm.
Tool - Prison Sex next! It sounds weird to say but it's the song that got me to them. Such a great song.
More Tool! Basically any song by Tool is worth reacting to. Push It is a great song to listen to. There is a studio version and then a live version where they changed it up and it's just a beautiful interpretation of their own song
Can’t go wrong with tool, Deftones and Radiohead. Especially tool’s discography. But man, you gotta react to their live cover of “no quarter” from either 93 or 98. Both are great live performances.
Wow!! Great reaction and man I bet you shred on the piano. Very impressive! YOU TOTALLY GET WHAT 👽TOOL👽 is about! Cheers from Texas!
Deftones ft Maynard- passenger.
WILL NOT REGRET.
You need to watch a perfect circle live at red rocks. It's amazing. You won't be disappointed
I was twelve when the album was released and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. It took you long enough. As the old saying goes, better late than never. 😛
Old dawg, new trix
More Tool please!
If you were a vocal coach, you would be crazy blown away by the fact that he can create these beautiful, clear sounds with his voice in his current physical position. His movements illustrate the song. 👍
The pot! That song is awesome
I've watched a hundred reactions to this video and I still watch every one I can find.
I'm addicted to this song....
What irony
Sober, 46 & 2 are my 2 favorite songs from Tool
Saw them first at Lolapalooza in 1992. I’ve been a Tool lover ever since.
"I see why you guys like them" - Got Him Folks. Welcome to the army. Spiral out. Keep going. (i.e. Please check out Lateralus. I feel like you'd enjoy it musically, lyrically and for all the other reasons we love Tool). Cheers.
One song from the 90’s I would highly recommend is Bleed The Freak by Alice in Chains! Exemplary musicianship and Layne Staley’s voice is one of a kind David 🤘🏻
Maynard can sing. No denying
No one sounds like him
@@MusicShed You should dig into some of his other projects, he really flexes his vocal skills in them. Check out his cover of Joni Mitchell's Fiddle and the Drum with A Perfect Circle live at Red Rocks. Or Grand Canyon by Puscifer. It amazing how soft and gentle it can be but so powerful at times!
From that 1993 album, 4 degrees is my fav for his vocals in early Tool.
"Tool is not metal not grunge but Munge" - Adam Jones 94'
It's a perfect mixture of surrealism and structure
Maynard has a song with Delftones called passenger, it´s really amazing, you should react to it.
also i love your reactions, good job
That is me and my best friend’s song 🖤
BEST TOOL BREAKDOWN EVER!!!!
Im watching you watch them. And yes we all had that face the first reaction. Just trying to figure it out and take in the brilliance of Maynard and crew
Kinda jealous of you man while I can still listen to their complete catalogue now and never skip a track coz it's still so fucking fresh, you're about to experience all of it from now 😁 life just got a lot sweeter!
A Perfect Circle's Judith and/or 3 Libras next plssss!!!
Opiate is their first album. Check it out. It’s a good one!
Howie it's just killing it with the info bubbles! 🤘🤣🤘
Howie is a beast
I really enjoy your reactions as a closet drummer who covers a few Tool songs. Please do more Tool!! Try the Pot or Right in two and check out the lyrics. They are so today...
Great reaction! Your someone who understands their music!! Well done!👏👏
Keep up with the Tool!
One of my favorite bands of all time! 🖤
I'm so glad I stumbled across this guy. He's got a kickass vibe. I would love to drop a tab with this guy and listen to tool with him all day!
I guess you'll probably get a lot of requests to check out Maynard James Keenan's duet with Chino Moreno, "Passenger" off the Deftones' White Pony album. The bit of piano playing at the end of the video reminded me of Tori Amos, who also did a duet with Keenan "Muhammad my friend," (extremely easy video to find.)
Not positive if you’ve done this one already, but Passenger by Deftones is one of the most atmospheric song you’ll ever hear. An added bonus that Maynard is featured in it (which is a rarity).
Sober “ rocks😎🤩👏👍🙏
Is amazing when musician's are in that trance is just beautiful.
You won’t regret your journey with Tool. 🙏🏻
Please more tool, you are captivating with your insights. One of a kind passion for it.
I dont want to broadcast this however it's needed. You saved me from going into depression, suffered a lot of loss. I'm not looking for sympathy at all
You connected to me heart and that is huge. Your genuine reaction hit a cord. I really can't thank you enough. You are super talented.
This is such a powerful song, also Lateralus form them is awesome!🤘🏻
Oh my, I've never had such a good time watching this video. probably the first time i've laughed during this performance..👏
I’m happy that I can be amusing!
Please do more tool
Subscribed for T❤️❤️L.
Loved your reaction.
I found your channel because of kingslayer and BxMxC, I love your style of reaction because unlike everyone else doing reaction vids you pause and explain things that caught you attention that I completely missed. Love the content and I'm staying for more, also if you want/need a good babymetal suggestion i have three, "pa pa ya" is great "shanti shanti shanti" is beautiful and "karate" is I think the most recent song that they had with all three original members
thanks for mentionning Peter Gabriel!
I always enjoy Tool reactions, especially when its someone who knows WAY more about music then I do. (Which is just about anyone since I just know I like to listen to it. haha)
Second album* First album was Opiate in '92.
Great reaction vid. Hoping to see you dive deep into the Tool rabbit hole. New album is incredible, just like all their albums. Would love to see you reaction "Invincible" off the new one, but the rest of Tool army will keep you busy I'm sure lol. Cheers!
if Tool is up your allay, Rishloo is gonna be worth a look. they are often compared to tool but they are more on the Psychedelic/Prog side and less grungey
anything from their latest Album (Living as Ghosts with Buildings as Teeth) is amazing. and the Eidolon album is fantastic as well
Gojira - Pray live from Red Rocks
Danny’s Pork Soda shirt is so awesome
Enjoying the piano interpretations on all of these. More analysis and more theory.
Other than my first comment; great reaction!
I’ll be comin back to watch your reactions again.
And you get it. Though to mnow; Maynard (lead singer) has stage freight. Making this performance even better with him embodying that feeling of being addicted. Just stunning he is
Amazing watching translation onto the keyboard
I regret I have but one thumbs up to give👍. Great reaction...keep em coming and the Tool Army will follow. You can go pretty much anywhere from here in their catalog and not be disappointed. The Grudge, Forty Six & 2, Jambi, Lateralus, Parabol/Parabola, ... anything, just more!!!
I loved how you broke it down , def subscribing
time to step up to the plate and react to Ghost of Perdition by Opeth live at Red Rocks!
Talking about live performances from the 90s, there is a video on Neurosis performing the song 'Locust Star' on Ozzfest 1996 that is devastatingly powerful!
I'm just here for jinjer and tool tbh lol I love these deep dives
Damn brother i just found your channel and i gotta say I really dig it and i really like the little factoid bubbles. Which shows you go back and do some research afterwards to really appreciate the music. You sir have earned my subscription brother
You mentioned peter gabriel with maynard...spot on! I absolutely agree. I said before here that tool(like early genesis with gabriel) is the perfect mix of surrealism and structure. I stand by that. Btw check out early peter Gabriel solos
Peter Gabriel IS someone that Maynard is inspired by. He's said as much in a few interviews.
Very interesting that you referenced Peter Gabriel.
The music of old Genesis was not only some of the best, most intricate of the Progressive era but Gabriel's theatrical stage presence elevated the band to a level that was beyond music.
It became a form of art.
It did
Man I would love to see your reactions to so many more Tool songs!!!
Awesome review ill have to check out more from you.....
We are the same age. I saw this tour. Except it was in an old movie theatre in Las Vegas. I wish I could understand music and hear it like you do. The notes, the time signature. I just hear songs and they sound good. You are right, they don't care about the stardom. Maynard doesn't sing in the front anymore. Just in the back in the dark.
I noticed that Danny has a lot more drums now.
Love watching you get into my favorite band! This live performance is perfection!!!!
Where We Go When We Die - Thornhill
Buen analisis👍👏👏👏
Lol, we don’t like tool, we love tool...
Tersely cogent, illuminating and perspicacious as usual, sir!
Excellent commentary and reaction, you positively nailed it!
Subscribing, I love how you know music, love music and the way you unpack it all.
love how far your content has come. It was really good when I found your channel last year and has only got more entertaining and interesting
Thank you!
More tool vids please 👍🏽
Grunge. That's a good one Squidward!
